Both anime have the same western feeling and the main characters are both searching for the man that killed the women they loved. Plus they have other similarities.

Gun Sword has a VERY similar feel to Cowboy Bebop and the characters design and animation are also very alike, particularly Van/Spike and Carmen99/Faye. Both are fabulous space westerns that you should watch.

Both shows have a very similar feel to it, especially the characters. A tough and very strong, but also very kind adult protagonist looking for a specific person/place travels with a girl, who is looking for her older brother. He is frequently helped by a busty, flirtatious woman, who is often manipulative but secretly likes him and sometimes by an edgy, revenge-obsessed guy.

Code Geass and Gun X Sword were made by the same director, Goro Taniguchi, and some of the same staff members too. Both series involve giant mecha combat, although Code Geass starts off as more realistic in this respect. Revenge is an important theme in both stories, plus they also share a number of ideas and their characters have a few similar characteristics. Gun X Sword benefits from being self-contained and more focused.

Similar concept: a group of people traveling around searching for a certain person. The comedy is similar as well as the art style.

Taking on a journey. Gun x Sword and Space Dandy essentially follows a young man on a quest of discovery and purpose. Throughout their journey, encounters with both allies and foe earn them experiences they will never forget. There's a similar feeling with their setup that adapts an adventurous tone combined with sci-fi elements. Gun x Sword takes on a more serious notion while Space Dandy has a more relaxed method of executing its presentation. Yet, their journey takes the main characters to places beyond their imaginations.

I haven't watched either in years. But when i saw the picture of Gun X Sword, BBB quickly came to mind. While Gun X Sword shows growth, BBB seems to show decline. Other than that, from my memory, they were pretty similar.

These series were made a few years apart, but had some of the same people doing writing and character design, and it shows. While the main plots of these two shows are very different, both are sci-fi series with mecha or mecha-like robots. If you like robot sword fights, you might like both: in particular, Melan's fighting style bears some similarity to the style Van uses when riding Dann. The major similarity, though, is in the central relationships. Both shows are about the friendship between a young teenage orphan and an older, stronger male protector whom she has a crush on. Melan's personality is very  read more

Main characters are alike. They both have some great power that only a few people posses, and they fight against own kind. The whole anime gives off a same fealing while watching.

There are characters from Pretear that remind me of Pricilla. I enjoy characters like her. Pretear is about the chosen one to stop the big bad, while Gun X Sword is about people out for revenge. One is sci-fi, while the other is fantasy. I do have to say though, that Pretear did make me think about Gun X Sword. They have similar art styles.

Both tell stories about an adventure through a world inspired by the wild west, with guns and swords galore. Both have fun action and follow a small group of travelers, although Grenadier has more ecchi content and Gun x Sword is more episodic until a little past the halfway point. They also share a very similar art style.

Yugioh Arc V and Gun x Sword involve a story of a mysterious object (Odd Eyes and Dann) that would serve as a key to unravel the mystery later in the storyline while the protags who are the owner climb their way to meet unlikely allies and strong enemies along the way whose background shows more than what we know of. Shun Kurosaki's vengeance against Academia reminds me of how Van wants to get his towards The Claw. Kotaro Nakagawa composed both shows with the only difference is that Gun X Sword is mecha themed show and Yugioh Arc V is a card game themed  read more

these two anime's may be very different but think there very similar. both have a kid/teen going on a adventure together and having others follow. i think both of these anime's are great and even if they are different i would recommend them both to watch if you life guns or fighting.

Although these shows are far from perfect, that doesn't mean they aren't enjoyable. Both Gun x Sword and Black Cat have main characters who have a dark past. Also both series have a great cast of characters.

Both anime are mecha, or have mecha but dont concentrate on it so much. More are about the characters' psychological state and what they been through. And both main characters are searching fro something -Differences: Gun X Sword is a Western, RahXephon is a scifi. - Both have great animation and OST Both will make you cry and/or go wtf!

Both feature two fighters one taking a gentle, the other a more confrontational approach to their goals. first working against eachother then uniting after gathering the unlikeliest of allies as they approach their ultimate climactic battle with a egomaniacal individual bent on rulling the world.

Both of these have somewhat similar settings. IMHO Gun X Sword has everything that Avenger should have had but didn't. In particular, Gun X Sword has nuanced characters whose interactions are plausible, and a coherent, satisfying story.

In both the main guy tries to revenge for the death of the girl he loved and a teenage girl travels together with him.

In both animes the main charater is a gloomy guy with a kind heart who gets accompanied by a girl trying to lighten the mood around him. Feature big swords and lots of fights (with monsters in Devil May Cry and mecha in Gun x Sword).

Great characters, well design and a great story

I feel both of these series are somewhat cheesy, but they were both made by creators who knew a lot of old stories inside out and who wanted to show how well they appreciated the old stories. IMHO Gun X Sword has the high production values and depth that Shinkon Gattai Godannar should have had.

Both are mecha series about quests for REVENGE!

Gun x Sword and Michiko to Hatchin feature and adult drifter traveling the lands who are soon acompanied by a level-headed child who more mature then they are. The adult and child teams face many dangers as they search for one person, along the way, both children become aware of the rough world they live in. Personally, I give both these a ten; neither are too predictable, neither feature overused anime cliche's and not being manga adaptations helps by eliminting the opportunity to plow ahead manually.

Death note is similar to GunxSword down to two main characters... 'Light' could be cosidered a villian or anti-hero, just like the character known as 'The Claw' in GunXSword. Both Light and 'The Claw' are murderers with a God complex, yet both belive that are doing the right thing. It's up to you however, who are you rooting for?

From the same director and in a similar scifi/wild west/fantasy setting, centered around a mysterious main character on a mission.

Similarities: - Both male characters wear funny looking outfit, except for Takuto who only wears it when he's operating his mech. By the way, I kinda hate the red shirt with a big star that he's wearing as his normal everyday clothes. -Both have anorexic and gay looking mechs. -Both are good in fighting. -Both utilizes an "X" to call out their mechs. -Both didn't realize their purpose until in the later episodes. -Both like to eat. -Both are attractive to women, co'z of their bad boy look. -As always, girls are involved whether it is a Damsel in distress or just some random excess baggage tagging along. Dissimilarities: - One is a  read more
