Synopsis

Jashin-chan is a demon who was summoned by Yurine Hanazono, a gothic looking girl. Unable to return home as the relevant spell was not included in the summoning grimoire, Jashin-chan resorts to violence to liberate herself from her earthly shackles.

However, this is easier said than done, as Yurine is no weakling herself. She in fact possesses formidable physical power and uses it to massacre Jashin-chan in a variety of ways, be it shoving her arm in a blender, spreading her intestines across the room or even cooking her. Though these actions would be fatal to anyone without the ability to regenerate, Jashin-chan isn't exactly undeserving of this treatment. Stuck with each other, Yurine lets Jashin-chan live with her in exchange for work around the apartment, and this cohabitation results in situations where, more often than not, Jashin-chan ends up in pieces.

This anime is definitely not for everyone, although if you're reading this; then it's safe to assume you've watched Jashin-chan Dropkick!.

The show is absurdly unrealistic and that's the charm to the show. It has a very weird mix of dark humor, with light-hearted spots in it. The show has running gag jokes, breaks the forth wall, introduces new characters, and goes in depth with some of the past of the characters. The new characters are pleasant to see on the screen, and highlight new parts of the show; while giving a different view on certain scenes.

If dark humor, exaggerated situations, with spurts of wholesome moments ...

I concerningly cannot identify what about this show makes it so entertaining for my monkey brain, but all that I know is it just is. I would highly recommend this show as its full of entertaining skits that oftentimes tie together across the series with (potentially) lasting effects. The characters are likeable and are highly enjoyable to watch. I will say that this is also probably the first show that I have watched where there is not a single character that I dislike(excluding shows possessing only 1-2 characters). If you are nostalgic for slapstick comedies this show is right up your ally.

Mixed Feelings
Simply, the second season is more of the first but with a few more characters. If you liked Season 1 by the end of it and could do with more shenanigans, then they delivered.

It improves on several aspects, chief of which being Minos actually appearing as prominently as a main cast member should. The new characters the season are nice additions on top. Persophone II is cute but is able to defend herself with a sharp tongue; however she unfortunately doesn’t get the limelight enough. Pino is fine, but Poporone had already taken her role long before she existed. Kyon-Kyon and Ran-Ran get the most ...
