Synopsis

Jashin-chan is a demon who was summoned by Yurine Hanazono, a gothic looking girl. Unable to return home as the relevant spell was not included in the summoning grimoire, Jashin-chan resorts to violence to liberate herself from her earthly shackles.

However, this is easier said than done, as Yurine is no weakling herself. She in fact possesses formidable physical power and uses it to massacre Jashin-chan in a variety of ways, be it shoving her arm in a blender, spreading her intestines across the room or even cooking her. Though these actions would be fatal to anyone without the ability to regenerate, Jashin-chan isn't exactly undeserving of this treatment. Stuck with each other, Yurine lets Jashin-chan live with her in exchange for work around the apartment, and this cohabitation results in situations where, more often than not, Jashin-chan ends up in pieces.

First of all, I would like to say that this anime is really not for everyone. But I assume that if you watch a review about the second season of "Jashin-chan Dropkick", it's probably due to the fact that you had watched the first season first.

"Jashin-chan Dropkick" is and will remain one of the best dark humor anime I've ever seen, certainly because I am one of those people who craves stupid, bloodthirsty, and deadly humor : the kind of one linked to sarcasm. Nichijou meets Gabriel DropOut. You add gore, but not too much: It creates this anime.

So that's my vision of this anime ...

Oh yeah, Jashin-chan! I remember this! I watched this anime while it was airing back in July of 2018. It was pretty fun. I even made a review of it. After the studio sold enough DVD boxes they announced a season 2 and I remember being excited for it. After one and a half year of more anime and more personal problems I was actually scared to watch this anime. It had been so long since the first season and I thought my taste would have changed so much from back then that I would have not liked this anime anymore.

Well, after Crunchyroll dropped ...

Mixed Feelings
Jashin-chan Dropkick (or Dropkick on My Devil) is one of those shows I come across by pure chance. Saw a few funny clips, decided to give it try, and mostly enjoyed it all the way through back in 2018. My immediate thought after finishing the first season way back when was that it was a solid show that had it's moments, but likely wasn't going to get a second season. Well, to my surprise, it did end up getting a second season, and even more surprising, the entire season happened to drop on the same day, so of course I binged it, and to no ...
