Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! Movie: Kurenai Densetsu

TL;DR: Basically a 1.5-hour long version of the show, with all the jokes and fanservice you'd expect from Konosuba!

The Good - The humor is on point, exactly the same quality as the show. Kazuma's antics are entertaining as always, Megumin gets plenty of fanservice, Yunyun gets a bit more screentime, and even the new villain is memorable. The interactions between the characters were a goldmine of laughs for me. Story-wise, it's a simple story about the gang visiting Megumin and Yunyun's hometown. Nothing special, but no one watches Konosuba for the plot, amirite? ;)

The Bad: Since the movie is basically just an extended episode, the ... animation was lacking in quite a few places, which is even more noticeable this time since it's supposed to be a movie. Background characters sometimes barely have a face. True to the spirit of Megumin, they seemed to put more budget into just the explosions, which looked pretty good.

Overall score: 8/10 - If you liked the show and don't expect the movie to go above and beyond the show's quality, then this will be a great watch. If you didn't like the show, why are you even reading this review? Go watch something else, pleb. :P

TL;DR If you like Konosuba, you will have a great time, but don't expect stellar animations, just because it's a movie.

Review:

Saw this movie in a local german cinema a few hours ago.
The german subtitles were kind of inaccurate at times, but nothing that impacted the understanding of the scene/plot. (But one time they forgot to translate background chatter, that was subtitled in Japanese.

Story - 7
Nothing too special, but not generic either.
The story was mostly what you'd expect from Konosuba, but the last 20 minutes were a bit too "cliché-anime-movie", in my opinion.
However all plotpoints had the usual quirky (and kinda dumb-funny) konosoba-feel ... to it.
It was sort of ecchi-heavy and it revolved more about sex, love and relationships as i expected.

Art - 6
Probably my biggest gripe with this film.
Most of the time it just looked like the TV-show, but on a big screen.
There was no scene that looked like complete trash, but -apart from some spells and explosions- nothing really stood out.
Also this movie had a lot of jiggling boobs.

Sound - 8
Can vary depending on Location, but my local cinema is pretty new so the sound equipment is rather good. You could really feel the explosions through your whole Body, but the sound wasn't deafining in any way.
Music was fine, the use of the OP at the beginning was fitting.
Voice acting was on point, but that's not too surprising.

Characters - 10
The characters and their quirks is something that makes Konosuba to what it is, as most of the jokes are built those characteristics.
Probably most important was Kazuma's desire to be a womanizer, which was used throughout the film, creating funny scenes until the very end.
All the characters' actions fitted their respective personality, nothing felt off.
The new characters were all pretty quirky and made for some humorous additions.

Enjoyment - 9
I pretty much laughed throughout the whole movie, in fact i laughed so much, that at some point i had to stop laughing, because my face started hurting.
Really only the chliché finale bugged me.

Overall - 8
"Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!: Kurenai Densetsu" knows where it strengths lie and plays them perfectly, but its weaknesses can't be overseen, especially the animations.

So I watched this movie like a few hours earlier in the CineStar in Frankfurt. It was part of a simultaneous screening in a few towns around Germany. I didn't even know KonoSuba outside of the first 3 LN's so I took my time to watch the first season just yesterday. I didn't manage to start the second season yet, so I wasn't aware of like 20% of the cast, which was unfortunate. I didn't expect the movie to supercede the second season and I also do not expect the movie to be canon.

The story is rather dull, but KonoSuba lives off its enjoyment, the ... quirky characters and the witty banter between them all so I can ignore that point. The story mainly surrounds the Crimson Village and a lot of KonoSuba-typical shenanigans happen there. Our group also encounters another evil general of the 魔王 preceded by a horde of ugly goblins and fight them with Explosions.

The art is fair, but there were a few bad animated sequences. Some even had some kind of image blurring. Mostly the animation was okay though, it felt like an amalgamation of several studios which was then confirmed with the credits. I saw influence from White Fox, JC Staff (obviously) and Aniplex, but there may be more.
The colors are vibrant, don't feel overly flashy though. This is a negative for me, because I kind of expect such a quirky show to flash me with near epileptic magic spells and summons. I wasn't really blown away though.

The music is nothing special. The opening sequence starts with Subarashii Sekai, which we already know from the Season 1, but the credits theme is a newly composed one. I cannot really remember any memorable section in it though. It's more of a smooth finish but not overly representative.

It could just have been the cinema sound, but the explosions were probably the most impactful of the show. They ran through every cell of my body and during a special explosion scene with an unexpected twist I even developed some goosebumps. Thats decent.

Voiceacting is absolutely superb, even the unimportant characters had great voiceacting and were as believably quirky as the general cast.

Enjoyment:

Well the enjoyment is rather awesome, simply because KonoSuba lives off its jokes. The jokes were spread evenly throughout the 1 1/2 Hour of playtime and it felt like watching a special episode of the show. I kind of felt like the trope of the Crimson Villagers going full-on chuuni is going to tire out really quickly, but they each had their individual twist to it which made it fun everytime. The banter was really enjoyable and also Kazuma fucking himself over by his limitless horny on main was a great joke.

I felt that the jokes were stretched a bit much though. The punchlines had always worked well. I doubted that they would miss a single joke right after the first 15 minutes.

Misc:

We were watching the movie with German sub and these were rather unfaithful to what was said in my opinion. Though they somehow made the jokes work in a rather primitive fashion. There is this scene where the main group insults Kazuma by giving him different honorifics and nicknames. The translated subs just filled these blanks with insults like "Kazumarsch, Kazumüll" etc.

Also there was a section where the original japanese sub was inserted and not translated. I cannot conjure an explanation for such an oversight?

Overall KonoSuba - Legend of Crimson is a decent experience, which I why I give it a solid 7 and watching it in a cinema screening was a good idea. If you excuse me now, I will watch Season 2 tonight.

Konasuba the movie is the BEST adaptation I have seen of a light novel in sometime. It takes all the banter, comedy, fan service and writing that you've come to expect from the series and dials it up to 100. TL;DR, if you like Konasuba, you will LOVE this film. It's hilarious throughout

By now, you surely know what things to expect from Konasuba, and a deep or intricate plot is not one of them. The joy in this series comes from the laughs and the overall good time you have watching it. The movie is no different.

The ... film adapts volume 5 of the light novel which sees Megumin's crimson devil village in danger from the demon king's army. It's up to Kazuma, Aqua and Darkness to help her save her home. Going in, I of course knew the story already, yet I still found myself, along with a packed cinema dying laughing legitimately the length of the film.

The animation and art both got an obvious upgrade from a movie budget, the sound when those infamous explosions hit is absolutely earorgasmic and the banter between the crew is top notch as always. There's nothing groundbreaking going on here, but as I said before, you don't expect that when going into a Konasuba viewing. We do finally begin to see a bit of character development with Megumin and even Aqua towards the film that I believe people will really appreciate. I got into this series during a big spell of depression and it really helped me get through some rough times with the overall vibe it puts you in.

If you're looking to continue on with the series, pickup volume 6 of the light novel which begins a new arc, hopefully, we will get a season 3 soon, but for now, this and the LN should tide us over a while yet.

Out of 100 Nobles watching… 100 were impressed!

Yeah, that’s right. You heard me. This movie was perfect. Go home, nothing to see here… except for this movie! Zing! Got em’… fine I’ll explain myself a for a bit.

In a world that was already exploding with Isekai anime,manga, and light novels after the creation of “Sword Art Online”, “Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!” or simply KonoSuba would rocket onto the scene and turn the whole formula on its head. While most Isekai have comedic moments, they would also more often than not take themselves a tad ... too seriously with the always overpowered protagonist and edgy themes. KonoSuba (at least in the anime I can’t speak for the LN) turned Isekai on its head addressing every trope it could in the book and making a joke out of it. The show was Japanese comedy at its finest and this 90-minute feature film is more of that performance.

The animation was of top-notch quality. The CG effects for spells and such were blended very well with the rest of the scene. It’s nice to appreciate in this era of the “hyper-realistic” that an animation studio will still adhere to core animation tenants like squash and stretch and exaggerated movements. This mixed with the orgasmic sound design made action and showy sequences an absolute delight. Megumin’s explosions were MEATY and the final battle sequence was incredible paired with its musical score.

The movies humor consists of a lot of slapstick, overreaction, subversion, and referential humor with the latter tying many happenings from the show and movie back together. You walk a very narrow line when performing the same joke multiple times. It’s something I felt held Hinamatsuri back. You always risk a gag overstaying its welcome, but for me the KonoSuba film was perfectly balanced. I’d understand if every viewer didn’t feel that way.

At the end of the day comedy is entirely subjective. For many it may not be to their taste, and if you haven’t watched the anime series, you’re going to miss a lot. For me though, I find KonoSuba’s total lack of decency refreshing in these times of taking things way too seriously.

.one thing that I'm a bit pissed is that they remove tranquility girl from the light novel. I love that part on how they dealt with that cute monster. :( even if the movie is great i still have this feeling that the movie was a bit rushed and missing some details.. maybe because I've read the novel and really it is very detailed compared to the movie. but don't get me wrong! I still love it! Overall it is a much watch for all Konosuba fans out there. 9/10

If computers can only understand 1s and 0s. Then the only number that I could possibly give this anime is 10. Konosuba is a special anime with its own place inside my heart. It's uniqueness brims brighter than any other isekai anime I've ever seen in my life. As a D&D player and Dungeon master, and also a person who've enjoyed roleplaying ever since I was young. This anime does really put a smile on my face.

This movie is pretty much a long, big budget episode of Konosuba with less comedy and more sentiments. That's how I feel about this movie ... anyways.

I think that Konosuba took the right step to reduce the comedy and let the movie have more emotional developments. It makes the jokes not feel overly forced and still remain amusing. And yeah. One of the greatest things about Konosuba is that it has the ability to slip a few jokes into serious scenes and not get scolded by it. The anime also somewhat feels like it knows it's limits and when to not pass it. This is why Konosuba is such a good series.

Anyways. I think that this movie's plot was fairly well done along with the story development that just feels so Konosuba ( Nostalgic ). The story's perfect and I don't think that there's a single error in it in which should be changed. So for that reason, I think that the story deserves a solid 10/10.

The Konosuba series's art alone was enough to blind my eyes and fill me up with the feeling of content and joy. Konosuba Movie? Bigger budget = Better animation and effects? Fuck yeah.

This movie was so flashy that I thought I was watching a rain of money. Jesus Christ. I don't even know what to say. If I was the only person watching the movie, then I'd probably scream at the top of my lungs every time Megumin casts her explosion magic.

I-It's outstanding, alright.. The art of this movie... It makes everything else even better with the quality like how an average spaghetti can become luxurious if it is simply put on a golden plate.

The voice acting are really good, lmao. Konosuba never fails me when it comes to the voice of the characters. They're just so perfect that it feels like I'm watching the embody of sound itself. Aside from the voice acting, the sound effects, background music and others are also very good. Like the art, their goodness adds up to the overall greatness of this movie. Making it even better than before.

Character Developments - More thingies are happening between Kazuma and Megumin. And we get to see more about Megumin like her family, her friends and a little of her past with Yunyun.

I'll just leave it as that since I feel like I might accidentally spoil something if I talk about the new characters and such.

I was having a lot of fun as I watched the movie. I haven't laughed and cried the same way as when I experienced Konosuba for such a long time now.

Konosuba: Legend of Crimson (because mercy me I'm not typing out the entire Japanese title two more times) is pretty much everything I thought it would be: more raunchy humor, more insane characters screaming at each other, more lampooning of stock Light Novel fantasy tropes - all in all, more Konosuba. While there's a virtue to being surprised, there's also joy to be had in knowing what to expect walking in, and walking out wholly satisfied.

This would be a pretty difficult recommendation to anyone who has not already ready the Light Novels or watched the previous two seasons and OVAs. This isn't a filler movie ... adventure, this is the continuation of the story, and it expects familiarity with Konosuba's character dynamics and comedic rhythm going in. It also expects you to be okay with the fact that Megumin is given the spotlight this time around, as Aqua and Darkness take a pretty pronounced backseat.

And if you've gotten this far, you damn well should be okay with that.

Konosuba: Legend of Crimson follows the lovable lecherous loser Kazuma and his misfit party as they venture to Megumin's home village, a town populated entirely by supremely powerful autistic weirdos just like her. The jokes come at a pretty rapid pace and the hit rate is higher than the show's usual ratio, probably because the source material here is packed into ninety minutes rather than spread out over the course of 6ish episodes. J.C. Staff managed to nail the show's expressively slapdash visual style, and there are some real choice bits of animation to ogle. It's a genuine treat to see Konosuba get the big screen treatment.

If I had any real complaints, it's that the movie perhaps wears out its welcome towards the end. The final action sequence feels like two climaxes piled on top of each other, with less time made for humor, and it is a bit exhausting. Konosuba kind of treads this line of both poking fun at Light Novel isekai wish fulfillment stories and straight up being one, and it's in the action setpieces like this that it teeters closer to the latter category, losing the charm of the former in the process. Luckily the fight's ultimate conclusion gets a big laugh, and the actual ending manages to hit a genuinely sweet note, so that I still left more than satisfied.

Konosuba: Legend of Crimson makes a running gag of how "our guy" Kazuma is repeatedly traumatized by the near-sexual encounters thrust upon him and it's a great laugh. I don't know if Scorsese would call this cinema, but it is at least a good time for fans of the series - and, for those curious, maybe a good reason to check out one of the funniest anime series in recent memory.

The second you see my rating of 10/10 you think hmm... does this pleb really think this was a masterpiece? How many shows has he even seen, putting a rating of 10/10 on a konosuba movie? Well...

I'm not going to get into any plot specifics, many people have already covered it and the story while good is the weakest part of the movie. It does it's job well and sets up many great moments and we even get to learn more about the crimson demon village but overall it isn't the main focus of the show, or rather it's not what makes it a great ... movie... it's the cast. Story:6.5/10

The cast makes this movie, which of course you already know if you've seen konosuba. The spotlight is on kazuma and megumin so the others don't get the most screen time but everyone has they're moments. The jokes were solid throught the entire movie and it never got boring or unfunny, even punctuated with some nicely timed serious moments and slight character development to even out the comedy. Old characters make cameos and everyone gets to be a part of the movie and they kept the "ok" story going and prevented it from ever becoming boring or tedious. Though their screen time is also short you get some great new characters aswell so you get to watch the cast interact with them aswell.
Characters: 10/10

Along with the cast the sound helps make the 10/10 as I give it 10/10 for the overall experience and getting to see this in theaters the sound design and execution helped sell everything. The voice acting is top tier and you get to really feel the EXPLOSIONS more than just watching at home. Everything just comes together so great and it feels like a movie legit made to be watched in theaters or with surround sound rather than on your phone late at night when you're bored. Sound: 10/10

I've seen people complain about the animation and I just don't get it. Sure, it's not perfect but overall the animation was great and never felt stilted or bad. Some less action heavy scenes may feel a little less engaging but overall the characters stayed on model unless it was being broken for comedic effect and the final battle had enough production value to keep you interested in the fighting. It's no ufotable movie, but its consistent and gets the action done enough to still keep you hype. No complaints on the art as it was always on point. Animation/Art: 7/10

So how is this a 10/10? How is this on the level of what people consider fmab or bebop or death note when you gave the story a 6.5/10 and animation/art 7? What is this blasphemy?

The overall enjoyment and rating is 10/10 because everything comes together to make such an enjoyable experience. No, I would never say this movie is better than a show like fmab or bebop, but getting to experience these characters on the big screen for an hour and a half while staying suprisingly hilarious throughout the whole runtime and never feeling like any part of it became boring was just the best. Konosuba kept its heart and charm in this movie, it doesn't feel manufactured to earn that otaku money, it's a genuinely fun movie that I will be watching again someday to experience the adventure again with my loveable goofballs. If you get a chance, you owe it to yourself to see this in theaters.

Important notice! This movie is not for the weak of heart!

Well I'm just gonna start off by saying what everyone knows, that this movie is great because it's Konosuba, what else to expect! BUT, this movie had a small tweak compared to the anime seasons, they basically thrown a lot of random "konosuba" inside a huge pot, mixed that very good and they didn't even checked if the outcome was any good, they knew beforehand it was amazing.

Well, like usual, the story in Konosuba doesn't even matter, after watching the movie, trying to grasp what you just watched is pointless, you wonder what the fuck ... did you just witness, unable to understand such high level of storytelling.

So what was it that made this movie so unique?
Just the way Kuzuma and the other 3 higher beings next to him manage to pull off each shitty situation they find themselves in, actually each second they exist makes this anime so good, improving it by each second that passes. The art was just perfectly done, it passed through all the inner emotions and feelings the characters felt, basically explaining them, no wonder the art was distorted most of the time... On top of that we add the sound, which magically improved the anime by a dozen of times, at times making you laugh or giving you a realistic explosion sound.

Now... was this movie worth watching? As I said this is not for the weak of heart, at least I feared a few times for my life, being afraid of dying by laughter! Almost everything makes you laugh, the times it doesn't, you think you're watching a serious moment of relation development, but it always turns out badly, becoming Kuzu-Kazuma (but I love that they always add something legitimate in the end, the true fan-service). Obviously a 10/10!

Well if you didn't see this movie yet, get yourself comfy and enjoy the hilarious moments of this Masterpiece!

I was happy when I heard that Konosuba would get a movie project, but I was pessimistic when I learned that Konosuba would be continued by JC Staff. Considering Date A live and One punch man who also moved to JC Staff studio, the results were not so good.
But apparently I was wrong, this one Movie is very impressive, I did not find any complaints for this one movie. Something that is unique from the Konosuba series made by Studio DEEN can be maintained, such as the funny expressions that are always displayed by each character, for visuals, even I prefer this version. The color ... looks a little more alive.
This is not a modified studio DEEN, but as made by enhanced Studio DEEN. The Konosuba series is one of my favorite series, and I hope Kazuma and friend's journey, in the future will still be as good as this one movie.

Konosuba gets better with every new anime, and this movie is no exception. I've never enjoyed isekai, echhi and humor to such an extend then this movie.

The plot, animation and jokes are all perfect and have such a nice fit. What i enjoyed is that they used several styles to tell a story, and i appreciate that. It enhances the jokes and gives the viewer a vision of the feeling of the characters. They felt alive and balanced. You may say that they are all a "type" but in real life a person has one set of personality. That is what this story nailed.

I'm just gonna run through the individual categories real quick, and then give my actual thoughts on the movie.

Art, 9: We got a lot of good animation, and not just in terms of action scenes. I loved the goblin army, and how over the top their animation was when just talking. Or when Kazuma is raging at Sylvia over interrupting him and Megumin. And the action scenes were very nice.

Sound, 8: The music added a lot in terms of overall atmosphere, I think the score definitely made this a more enjoyable experience. Voice acting, as usual, konosuba is a treat to hear in both dub ... and sub.

Character, 8: Everyone had great moments in this movie, with the exception of Aqua, although Aqua is usually one of the best characters. Darkness didn't have much, either, but I loved the part with the orcs, I thought it was hilarious. Mostly, the character points come in for Kazuma, who was just incredible to watch here. Every second he's on screen in this movie is memorable. Megumin, and especially Yunyun had some good development as well.

Ok, now for the most critical part

Story, 5: I can already here you saying "Who watches Konosuba for the plot?" well, I do. I watch it because there are funny characters, and I want to see what happens to them. I don't think it's weird to look for that in Konosuba. Now what happened to them in this movie was good stuff for the most part. In fact, I don't have a problem with any of the plot that was in this movie. What bothers me is the plot that wasn't in it. So, I'm a light novel reader, and before you groan, just hear me out. There was a lot that got cut here. A lot of world building in the crimson demon village, and a lot of relationship building between Kazuma and Megumin. Yes, it was still present in the movie, but not to the extent that it was in the source material. I can't help but feel like anime onlys are missing out here. They cut all that out, but the second half of the movie is a fight scene that never happened in the light novel. Sylvia was supposed to have died after she was shot by komekko, but instead she has an additional form merged with veldia and hans. Now, I don't think this was a bad idea, exactly. I thought it was an interesting concept, and it was a fun fight to watch, but I didn't want that at the expense of the actual story. They definitely could have fit in all the source material if they hadn't done that, and I feel like the only reason they did put that fight in there is because this is "Konosuba: The Movie" and people come to the theater to see something spectacular. I do acknowledge that movie watchers would have probably enjoyed it less if they had done a completely faithful adaptation. I regret that this had to be put into movie form, because I feel like it only hurts it. Because they put it in theaters, it doesn't succeed in being a full fledged stand alone movie, nor a faithful 1:1 adaptation of the light novel. It could have been one or the other, but instead it's just kind of in the middle, and I'm a little disappointed about that. I don't watch konosuba for the action, I watch it for the characters, and Kazuma and Megumin have a development here that's going to be very important later on. Reading the light novel, it wasn't sylvia, the crimson demons, or the big battle that stuck out to me the most. What I remembered, and what I look back on that story for was Kazuma and Megumin becoming closer, and in this movie it's given attention, but not the amount it's deserving of.

In the end, it had good production quality, and it was a fun watch, but it's not the movie I was hoping to see. I think fans should watch the movie and read the source material to get the best experience.

Quite a few years ago I watched KONOSUBA 1 and 2, and I spent the past couple of days rewatching them in order to finally watch this movie. I believe my first watch was rushed, and little attention was given to detail. However, this show specializes in its detail, adding several layers of comedy for our enjoyment. I love the consistency and humor of the show, and how rare it is to genuinely dislike a character, no matter how annoying they get.
The movie felt like it was at a similar level of quality as the seasonal anime, which was fine and expected, and ... it was undoubtedly as hilarious as ever (I'm sure the quality was higher in a lot of aspects, but I really didn't focus on that for KONOSUBA, especially since it's already pretty high quality in the first place). I don't see art as beautiful as Made in Abyss, and I don't see absurdly beautiful levels of character development like in a lot of my favorites, but I don't expect any of that anyway.
What I expect from KONOSUBA is Kazuma's gang saying and pulling off the funniest shit I've seen in writing in a hot minute. I expect to see high levels of detail and bits being shot at us in-between dialogue (or during dialogue). Most importantly, I want to see Kazuma continue taking the rough but caring path throughout his isekai life with the crazy bitch-trio, who are undoubtedly his true family. The movie has all that I ask for, despite being a very Megumin-focused arc (I love Megumin the most anyway).

10/10, will watch side stories+prequels+season 3 soon. Kazuma's popular phase was a blast.

An added half-season 2.5 in one long episode for Konosuba. The same thing but with even more explosions. If you liked the anime watch it. If you think it was meh, watch it for Megumin (best girl).

Animation is the same but because there is a lot of "superior magic" instead of standard combat, it was far above your average episode.
The jokes are on par with the rest, but I think it was funnier here. I like how they developed more the Destroyer's creator and Megumin, but the rest of the team isn't developed at all. They still have a problem with character development : I ... think Megumin was developed more in 1h30 than Kazuma in 2 seasons.

In the second half, it becomes far too epic compared to the rest of the anime, but the comedy aspect is reduced a lot. However, it's still a parody of a real epic anime, and it is funny.

So, this is my first review, also i don't speak english (I'm from Mexico, so hablo puro español), so if my english is bad sorry.
So, the movie was AMAZING. But first i suppose we have to talk about everything.

The story was....ok? Simple, but what do you want? The plot is simple, is just kazuma and the others having more adventures, it was ok, nothing relevant.

Now, the art was BEAUTIFUL, and it looks like not everyone loved the animation, but in my opinion it was amazing, i mean, it was maybe in the level of the series but, upgraded a little,maybe it's not Kimi no na ... wa, but loved the art and the details.

The characters are still the same, amazing like in the series, everyone are still the characters that we love and the new villain Sylvia, maybe it isn't the best villain but, it's so entertaining.

"THIS...IS MY POPULAR PHASE~!!!" - Kazuma

KonoSuba and the gang are back with all the comedic karmic hijnks and this time they get a message from the Crimson Demon Village that the Demon Generals are wrecking havoc in their village and needs Kazuma's gang's help or to be more or precise Megumin...Yunyun tags along as well.

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!: Kurenai Densetsu pretty much focuses on Megumin as a focal character of the movie, something that the previous seasons more or less glossed over (or was looking at other members Kazuma's party at that time)...Yunyun gets some screentime and slight development too. For the most ... part we do learn more or less Megumin's backstory and how her personality became what it is "of sorts" as well as the Crimson Demon village themselves as they are as much of an extension of Megumin is to this movie and her development to be the "best mage" and everything. Yunyun gets her limelight too.

Now Aqua and Darkness do get their due with their "quirks" but besides Megumin and Yunyun, Kazuma more or less gets more of his karmic luck or in this case, his "popular phase" with the girls to come into effect to drive the plot forward especially when it concerns the major villain of the movie Sylvia the newest general that's "wrecking havoc" on the village.

Sylvia much like the previous generals before her have the same affliction, in making you actually sympathize with them to a certain degree, just this time thanks to the crazy chunni batshit explosive insanity of the Crimson Demons villagers or Kazuma's party coming to wreck ALL her plans. Sylvia also cares about her army and wants to "continue on living" whilst wanting to destroy the Crimson Demon Village for humiliating her time and again. In a ways LA can see Sylvia as the culmination of Kazuma's party antics they've unleashed in the previous 2 seasons and all the consequences it would impact a "villain" all bundled together, somewhat embodying KonoSuba's and by extension Kazuma's karmic luck all in one, thus why LA can sympathize her as much as she's a villain AND at the same time root for the Kazuma's party to win at the same time. Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!: Kurenai Densetsu did a GREAT job in giving this kind of dynamic nature towards the protagonist's actions and the antagonists' motives together with this movie.

Though LA found that LA found some plot beats being VERY similar to the first season's final episodes, if anything Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!: Kurenai Densetsu only upped it to the point LA was expecting a territory-obliterating EXPLOSION and man Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!: Kurenai Densetsu's finale DELIVERED TWOFOLD with that finale and one hell of a batshit insane but rather logical plan from Kazuma (once again).

The animation done this time by JC Staff....doesn't change anything as it seems that the same animators for the anime series were tasked with the animation again and ohh boy did they pull out all the stops for this movie in spades. The animation if anything keeps the aesthetic of the anime series to a T but when the animation needed to be amazing especially with the comical reactions from the core cast and the EXXXXXPLOSIONS, they delivered. The animation studio surely changed but it's STILL KONOSUBA right down to it's animators.

The voice cast is back and does LA REALLY need to say how great this voice cast is especially from Jun Fukushima as the ad-libbing Kazuma to Rie Takahashi as Megumin...and Aki Toyosaki as Yunyun. BUT LA will also give props to Akeno Watanabe by essentially giving a hammy performance as Sylvia and to how batshit insane she can REALLY act and Syvlia was the vessel for this and man did she deliver. Of course Sora Amamiya and Ai Kayano did great as aqua and Darkness respectively and most of the Crimson Demon villagers pretty much exuded Rie Takahashi's Megumin cadence (which was expected). Brilliant voice cast expected from KonoSuba.

The ONLY thing Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!: Kurenai Densetsu did as even as a nitpick was that there was a small bit of time where Kazuma and the gang essentially fluffed around but oddly enough that's what you call "buildup" and giving us a "breather" before the batshit insanity of that finale came into play to the point of you saying "that escalated quickly".

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!: Kurenai Densetsu may be a longform vers. of a full arc of one KonoSuba anime series turned into a movie, but MAN did it exceed LA's expectations and just more or less topped itself as to how batshit insane and comedic it can take itself with it's karmic luck on both Kazuma and Sylvia and by topped LA MEANS TOPPED ITSELF for setting up, building up and baying off almost everything it did and went off to an explos- *cough* went off like neutron bomb of a finale.

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!: Kurenai Densetsu WAS Megumin's.......and Yunyun's movie and made LA grow to like Megumin even more with this movie!...and Yunyun.

Megumin is Best Mage..and Best Girl of KonoSuba~!

in my opinion Konosuba the Movie is satisfying.....

A video game-loving shut-in, Satou Kazuma's life should've ended when he was hit by a truck, but through a twist of fate, he ends up reincarnating in another world--and dragging the troublemaking goddess, Aqua, the wildly dorky mage, Megumin, and the unrelentingly delusional lady knight, Darkness, with him.
Now, the Crimson Demon village that Megumin and Yunyun are from is facing a threat that could mean it's ending. Kazuma and his gang follow Yunyun, who returns to the Crimson Demon village intent on saving it... when they are faced with their greatest threat yet! What will become of ... the unremarkable adventurer Kazuma's life in another world?!

If you are reading this, I’ll assume you have already seen season 1 and 2 of Konosuba.

If you loved the show, then you will love the movie. If you did not enjoy the show, then you will not enjoy the movie. The story is really fun and does a great job of keeping you interested. Any fan of the show will enjoy seeing where Megumin grew up. The characters are still super funny, and it is still a treat to watch then interact with each other. Even though all the characters are still super unlikable, there’s surprisingly some character development in the film.

The music does ... a good job at adding to the scene. There’s some iconic tracks from the show but other songs are fairly forgettable. Like the show, the movie does a great job of using sound affects to add to humor. The voice acting is still amazing. The voice actors do a great job at getting into character.

The visuals are great. The animation is very fluid. Characters are as expressive as ever. Background art is still looks great.

I honestly have waited too long to see this movie.

Despite everything, it must be emphasized that the title of it has not deceived us like some others, also that the main problem was the supposed disappearance of the crimson demon clan. (It is difficult for me to write in English because I am a Spanish speaker, but I will do it in the same way so that you can understand my review) Continuing, the film still maintains the essence of what KonoSuba is, Kazuma's perversion, Aqua's stupidity, Darkness's masochism, Yunyun's loneliness, but, Megumin's participation has been more highlighted. It is obvious that they have given ... us several scenes of fanservice where we imagined something between Kazuma and Megumin, which will never happen. Even so, the film maintains the main characteristics of the characters, they did not forget the anime, the manga or the light novel. It was also considered to reveal something of Megumin's past, such as her origin and her past before meeting Kazuma, the same with Yunyun.

Anyway, there were bad things in the movie, like other reviews, this movie was only a long episode, such is the case of Yuru Yuri or Re: Zero, although clearly in those anime he mentions that they are long episodes, KonoSuba He did not do it, but, to all this, we must congratulate the voice actors who, just by listening to them, you can see that they put effort into creating this, I know that this premiered in 2019, but, as already He had mentioned, I am not a Japanese. It's amazing how they could combine adventure and comedy, obviously, Konosuba is a parody of the typical Isekai anime. KonoSuba takes it to another level and shows that the parodies are interesting and it is not only laughing according to the scenes, I would like to mention more but I do not want to give spoilers to those who have not seen the movie.
From my point of view, I loved the movie but it was only a long episode, it did not break my expectations but it left me with the intrigue of that open ending, it does not matter, we can read the novel or the manga and discover what happened.
