Synopsis

It has been 10 years since the war between the Iga and Kouga ninja clans came to an end. The two groups have since made peace, supposedly dispelling the animosity that once existed between them. Hachirou Kouga and Hibiki Iga, the successors of their respective bloodlines, seem to have the perfect conditions for their love to bloom, but not everyone is satisfied with the results of the age-old battle.

Different tales of the final showdown between Gennosuke Kouga and Oboro Iga have spread, leaving Tadanaga Tokugawa—whom the Kouga represented—dissatisfied. As tension between the two clans rises once again, the brewing political climate threatens to keep the two fated lovers apart, just as it had in the previous generation.

There will be some spoilers, as I point out how stupid the story is.

This is so bad.

I've got a rule, which does backlash sometimes, that I do not criticise anything before seeing it to the end.

A complete waste of time. I watched it because the old one is on the top of my fav list. I've heard it's bad, but if it's simmilar to the old series, it should be at least decent, right? Right? Uh, no.

Let's start with storyline. So, apparently, Oboro gave birth to twins. Oboro, who was not pregnant at any time (pregnancy is only possible to hide if read more

Ever wanted an anime like Naruto except the Ninja world is ran by bunch of kids who are into incest? Well here is a little something for your specific taste.

Basilisk Ouka Whatever is a pretty fun anime when it comes to ninjutsu arts and samurai swordo fights. All sort of obscure weapons are wielded, blood splat, and body count is nothing but a number in this cold ninja world.

This raises the question: Why fight tho? This because the world consists of two different ninja clans and they don't like each others very much, so naturally they want to slap each others shit and kill everyone read more

Simply put...

Basilisk: Kouga Ninpouchou (prequel):
- Amazing art style
- Great animation
- Great soundtrack
- Great story

Basilisk: Ouka Ninpouchou (sequel):
- Trash art style
- Trash animation
- Ok soundtrack
- Trash story

* Sorry for using the word "trash", but I got so pissed off by how bad this one turned out after almost 13 years of the first Basilisk!

I've always loved "Basilisk: Kouga Ninpouchou" and considered it a masterpiece. I always wanted an Anime that could bring the same Shinobi feeling. After hearing about the sequel I couldn't believe it, but unfortunately I got really disappointed :(

*SPOILER ALERT - LAST EPISODE*
I noticed that in the last episode when Hachirou was fighting read more

Preliminary
**Contains MINOR spoilers**

I love basilisk, I love how it time skipped and the villains were undoubtedly strong. I love that hachirou looks like Gennosuke too, it really eased me into the Basilisk I knew and loved. However...

This show has become a shadow of its former self quite fast. It was an impressive, gory, decapitations, violent, ninja/samurai style show with unique talents/powers to each character that could of been played out into a great series. Then you get into the later episodes to find out you've been spending almost 12 episodes alone just getting to know characters that can only kill ninja's called "The read more
