Mnemosyne: Mnemosyne no Musume-tachi

Female leads, although very different in personality. Lots and lots of violence in both series. The first episode of Mnemosyne for instance includes torture by means of genital piercings. There's also some barbed wire bondage in the ending credits. You get the picture :P 

Both dark anime wih sci-fi elements and for a mature audience. Lots of blood, violence, torture, gore, nudity, ecchi. Strong female protagonists with supernatural powers and unusual hair colors, and (mainly) useless male characters. Also, Rin having troubles with her memory in the 5th episode somehow reminded me of Nyuu. Some differences: Elfen Lied is more psychological and more splatter than Mnemosyne, and the latter has almost hentai scenes, tons of yuri, and a more complex story. Both are good and shocking anime not for everyone. 

Both series have a serious tone and a lot of blood and violence. Elfen Lied has a harem setup to keep the mood light at times, but when you get right down to it, neither series pulls punches. 

If you were into Elfen Lied for the blood, gore, and twisted emotions/storyline, and aren't afraid to watch something even MORE graphic (in every possible meaning of the word) this anime is for you. Blood, torture, rape...pretty much everything is somewhere in this anime. The plot is a little bit twisted and hard to follow, but bears many of the same elements as Elfen Lied. There are about 6 episodes of about 45 minutes each that take place over about a century and a half, and follow the story of Asogi Rin, an immortal. 

Violence, sex, sexual violence, heavy psychological themes, and a plot. These shows have it all. 

Similar style, the type of argument, gore, drama, love.. In the both animes the player is a girl whith strong power. 

First of all, both anime contain quite an amount of violence and bloodshed so plenty of action. Also nudity is included and Mnemosyne goes a little further in this. These anime are not rated R for nothing. The main characters in these anime are played by (large breasted) women, they end up in a lot of fights but the personalities can't be compared. I'd say Elfen Lied is a little more sensitive and easier (less hard) to understand. Mnemosyne really needs your attention while watching and takes it somewhat to the next level regarding nudity (yuri, rape) compared to elfen lied. It can get very close to hentai at some points but doesn't cross that border. read more 

Both mature series star beautiful women who are cruely subjected to brutal, often S&M-like torture (Mnemosyne being significantly more erotic than Elfen Lied). Explicit gore and nudity are abundant in these psychologically-twisted dramas about uber-human ladies used as pawns for a new world order. 

Both shows have the same type of atmosphere.Fights with nudity. Both woman MC with the same type of personalities. One difference is in Mnemosyne no Musume-tachi,the main character is immortal while Lucy is not.  

Both are very graphic have lots of blood, gore and sexual violence. Also dismembered body parts.  

Both are extremely graphic and violent, and both leave VERY little to the imagination when showing these graphic scenes, except Rin Daughters of Mnemosyne takes a step further. While both enjoyable, they should have REALLY toned down all the torture and stuff (Daughters of Mnemosyne in particular). 

Immortal woman, dark and violent tone, blood and killing, short and sweet. Will they find happiness? Get rid of the bad guy? Maybe...not.. 

Basically, both involve immortal people who are able to regenerate themselves completely even after long, insane tortures. Baccano has more comedy, while Mnemosyne has plenty of ecchi scenes, but still, both anime are dark, violent, mysterious, well-done, and highly enjoyable. 

"Oh hay let's fight violently. With tons of high-pressure blood." "But don't worry, we're immortal, so we'll revive even after the most insane torture sequences." +Baccano's nonlinear storyline ends up fitting together at the end ~ Mnemosyne's storyline goes in order, but there are huge jumps in time from episode to episode, with little clues unraveling the mysteries of the series that also all fit together at the end. 

Both series approach the immortality aspect in a way that the characters affected by it don't age, as well as some gory/torture scenes  

Both series deal with the premise of immortality and uses the passage of large amounts of time to tell complex stories. Baccano! is less dark than Mnemosyne, but is still pretty heavy. 

• The theme of immortal characters passing through time • Dark, gorey, and torture scenes • The ability to extract knowledge/memories from immortals to another entity • Witty references to classical literature e.g. Allan Poe in Baccano and de l'Isle-Adam in Mnemosyne • Mystery, suspense, and supernatural powers 

kara no kyoukai series are similar to mnemosyne. magic and paranormal activities and philosophy a lot of philosophy which told you a sense of being a human. they both show the aim that human hardly can attain, but try despite all the loses. 

Although Kara no Kyoukai is far better, both share a rather dark athmosphere. Also, there are mysteries that are not revealed until later in the series. 

- Supernatural Noir. - A kind of secret agency which job is trying to solve strange cases. - Dark Story. - Talks about life and death. - Mnemosyne is more gore, bold in eroticism, and more sci-fi. - Kara no Kyoukai is more philosophical. 

Kara No Kyoukai and Mnemosyne are similar in that they are both very experimental, mature, and often time very dark and mysterious. They both have stories based around time manipulation, albeit, in entirely different ways, with Kara being a non-linear, out of order story, and Mnemosyne being a story that traverses many generations and decades in time. Both have strong female lead protagonists (who also double as somewhat of antagonists, depending on how you look at it), with odd partnerships throughout. These two are some of the most beautiful looking animes available, as well- With Kara really taking the lead in the animation department. If you are an adult anime watcher, look no further than these two marvelously brutal, philosophical, and psychologically deep shows.  read more 

Both shows have strong female lead. Dark tone and themes with symbolism throughout. Both have intense soundtrack. 

Both are in the business of odd jobs. both like to kick ass. And both characters don't die that easy. Same theme of DMC but has sex, more blood, and did i mention sex? 

The main theme of the anime is close dante fights demons rin fights angels zombies and such. They cant die and the story is outstanding on each  

private buisness deals in sketchy supernatural shit lots of action and edge in it as well as mc that is pretty much a badass as well too lol. 

Both have a similar feel to each other. They certainly have similarities in the fact that they both revolve around immortals, there's some nudity, and a lot of violence; but this is not what makes them alike, nor what contributes towards the recommendation. Both of these are excellent and interesting, giving you the feeling of not knowing what's going to happen next. If you have the chance definitely pick this one up if you liked Mnemosyne.  

Both are mature anime with mature content that both cover the subject of immortality. 

As the episodes advance, it chronologically changes in time. Finally arriving at a crucial junction. Despite the runtime and episode count differences, they both run at about the same. Both are in my top 20 - I just prefer Mnemosyne a little tincy wincy bit more than kurozuka. 

Both are impressive adult anime full of sex, violence, action, mystery, blood, gore, and strong, grotesque scenes, in which the protagonists are either supernatural entities or have super powers. 

Sexual, twisting, dark, supernatural animes abound. After watching Mnemosyne, I couldn't help but see the similarities in the two series, from theme to art and character design to pacing, I truly saw these animes as very similar cousins to each other. If you liked Mnemosyne for more than just the Yuri, Speed Grapher is going to be right up your alley with similar plot progression; a better, more developed, more dynamic story; and Characters that seem much more real. If you liked Speed Grapher's mystery, Mnemosyne has a more mysterious plot with an interesting use of motifs over the span of quite a few years (which forces you to pay more attention, or you will get very lost). Both series use grotesquely disturbing visual imagery involving many themes that delve into erotica and moral virtues paired with their neo-noir settings. if you like one of them you're going to like the other as well.  

Weird ancient power a woman can only wield -> protagonist (voiced by Noto Mamiko in sub) constantly hunted down by a creepyass dude who wants her power (or her *for* her power) -> seems there are others like her; some psycho, some helpful. Oh, and boobs & LesYay galore. 

Both of these great anime involve powerful woman protagonists as main characters who are in tight struggles against the consequences that these powers bring. Although Mnemosyne is more sinister, both contain intense fighting scenes and have interesting plots. What's more, the two main female characters from these anime are voiced by the same seiyu. 

There both rather unique animes that have a rather different view of things.  

Both anime deals with a similar concept: abnormal human beings and a mysterious area (Hell's Gate/Yggdrasil Tree) that makes a huge impact on the characters' thoughts, actions and decisions. Mnemosyne is faster-paced and is intended for a more mature audience. DTB has a muchmore mysterious storyline; however both series are full of action.  

Both protagonists are immortal detectives and they chase supernatural creatures at night.  

Both are spooky and dark broody stories with grim atmospheres to them as well as quite a bit of action and also supernatural focus as well too and also nice art and character designs as well too and good elements of suspense. 

Both are supernatural themed stories with alot of edge and violence in it as well as lot of other touchy shit as well too and nice animatation,art,visuals and character designs as well too. 

What you might love about both these series is their lack of censorship for the crude and violent. There’s sex, there’s horror, there’s violence, gore, and anything you could ask for. But it’s not just for the sake of shock value, there’s a sense of meaning and depth in the themes explored in each of these anime. You might even find that some themes are common... 

There is one thing that connects these two shows, and that is the fact that both span a timeframe that is longer than most stories (or even a human life). There are numerous years between each part of the shown arcs, and it is possible to see the world changing between those parts. The difference is that one focuses on two women that are immortal and focuses on their role in the larger scheme, while the other focuses on a singular robot AI with more focus on the world itself and the world changing events that take place in these timeframes. Both stories give of a very unique vibe and tell an uncommon story that spans through the ages. Both are also well worth a watch (as far as we can tell, at this point Vivy is not finished yet; also a small warning about Mnemosyne: be aware that heavy topics and gore will come up, even more than in Vivy) read more 

Both series follow a pair of protagonists thru numerous time skips. Their enemies follows them in some form or another and it is interesting to see how they evolve.  

Both Have a great artistic style, a similar Dark feel to them and a strong female main character. Although Balot is allot more timid and unsure of herself than Rin. 

Both have this sort of angels vs demons storyline and a yuri factor. Psychological battle between what's right and what's wrong for the MC.  

- detective stories with paranormal cases - strong female lead 

Extended ~45 min episodes. Dark, gore, and violent atmosphere. Integra’s design reminds me of Rin from The daughter of Mnemosyne - I liked her confidence and authority contrasted with her vulnerability and uncertainty. 

Overall vibe is similar, although Mnemosyne is more on the supernatural side of things and Cannan on the scientific. Preview for next episodes is also very much alike. So much so that it's basically the same thing. The two leads being women, also the same. If you want to see women being the leads and fighting, then one or the other should suit your taste.  

There isn't much in common, but they give off the same feel. Both have a lot of gore. Mnemosyne is also filled with action and is a lot more mature than Mirai Nikki. Just watch it, idk how to explain myself. 

Both shows are pretty violent, and both shows also have a similar, gender specific mutation (Yoma for Claymore, time fruit in Mnemosyne) - if a woman gets affected by said mutation, she becomes more powerful (in Claymore, if a woman gets possessed by a Yoma, she becomes a Claymore; in Mnemosyne, if a woman absorbs a time fruit, she becomes immortal); however, should the same thing happen to a man, he becomes an unstoppable berserker. Plus, both shows have great opening themes. Lastly, both have endings that seem like they were leading to a second season that never came (this is more apparent in Claymore). However, Claymore is not as graphic as Mnemosyne is (sure, Claymore has similar levels of violence, but there's more nudity in Mnemosyne), and Mnemosyne is set in more modern times (and even in the future), whereas Claymore is set in a medieval period. read more 

Both are dark and often violent series with a heavy influence of western film noir. They follow a ragtag team that takes episodic cases that often involve the occult, technology, and/or immortality. The central plot, however, deals with the protagonist confronting their past and the antagonist who has hounded it.
