A-1 is known for doing shitty anime that are loved by new people coming into anime, mainly because of it's plainness, consistent artwork, it's character's design and their expressive colors.

SxS, Working and Gin no Saji are exceptions.

DBZ is the only one that I (partially) watched, as I wasn't a big fan of it at all and it is a really super popular show I probably should give a bit more of a chance to.

Clannad was also the anime that hooked me. I started off watching Host Club, Attack on Titan, and EVA with my cousin. My next show, SAO, was the start of the slippery slope, I guess, as I watched it alone. I enjoyed it a lot and I still treasure it a little as the show that got me started on this. LOL. Anyways, from there I watched Clannad and Zetsuen no Tempest and the themes presented in After Story changed my opinions on anime being 'childish', I guess.

Non Non Biyori is great. I think the relaxing nature of it is is really smartly presented, especially in the first season, as there's just some scenes that need no talking. The characters are precious too. The dream is to have a child like Renge! No word of a lie, she's the cutest baby (you'll see in season two if you watch it).

Yeah haha. Don't ask. I only really started actively watching in January 2014, but I had already seen maybe like fifteen(including Pokemon, etc.) before then. I don't really count those as that was more childhood than anything.

What about you, when did you start? What was the first anime you watched (I guess properly, since I discount my childhood ones)?

Ah okay. My favourite genre is slice of life easily. I don't mind watching other things though. My least favourite is ecchi, but it isn't like I hate them. Some like Monster Musume this season are bearable for me.

Awh. You should check out Non Non Biyori. The sequel is airing right now and it is super chill and lovely. Gangsta is pretty solid too if you're looking for an action anime. :3
