Great reviews mate and I agree with your stance on not labeling things as overrated that you mentioned in your Steins;Gate review. Also always nice to see someone giving Black Lagoon some love!

Tem razão, irei tirar seu perfil por referencia e mudar os meus favoritos, acho que vai ser bom até para poder repensar minhas próprias experiencias com eles :D

Thankyou for giving Erased the review it needs :)

I think the problem is that they weren't given enoug time to begin with due tkbkth him and the large swarthy of characters that were already horrible (the entiety of the Yggdmillenia clan). Sieg's stuff War the only interesting h aspect of the narrative beyond literally 3 character duos
CodeBlazeFate Jan 28, 6:34 PM
True. From the people that did interact with them, they didn't really have much chemistry with him, and while there were some interesting dynamics (Shakespeare and Semiramis, and Jack and Reina), they were unfortunately unable to have the screen time I would have liked, especially given that when one of the latter characters dies, it's supposed to be this big emotional moment.

Not gonna lie, the first Karna fight in episode 3, couldn't parce any of it. The cuts didn't really flow into one another at all and often it felt like random jumbles of explosion and motion-blur. None of the other fights suffer from this issue, even if I didn't care for most of the other fights. Thankfully all of the other Karna fights were pretty good (Vlad vs Karna and Sieg vs Karna are the two best in the show if you ask me)
CodeBlazeFate Jan 28, 11:03 AM
Huh. I thought it couldn't even do its basics right. It did have a really interesting real plot involving Sieg and how ultimately it's about him learning what life is, what salvation, goodness, and life truly mean, and joining the conversation of what makes someone good, what makes salvation, and if humanity is worth the effort. I also liked him trying to help his homunculi buddies out. However the execution had a lot to be desired, especially involving the other characters and how they have no chemistry with him and not enough screen time in their own right to be interesting, let alone really mingle with his business in a genuinely impactful way. It ended up being a subpar effort, and the fact that is spread itself too thin too quickly is a large reason for it. Also, the fights mostly sucked, with a few exceptions, namely the fight in episode 14 and most of the Karna fights (except the one in episode 3, that one was garboni)

I actually made a review of it if you're interested: https://myanimelist.net/reviews.php?id=266882

Hey, it's been a while. How've you been.

I see you finished Fate/Apocrypha? What did you think about it?
TheKillerAngel Jan 25, 3:16 PM
Yes, I did.
TheKillerAngel Jan 23, 5:12 AM
Strangely I didn't get any notifications about that on Twitter.

OK, this is way overdue. As for my favorites, I'll try to keep things to a 1-2 sentence summary, and restrict it to shows I've given a 10 rating.

Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso - It really took my second watch to appreciate this show, and I appreciate how the two leads communicate with each other and motivate themselves through music. Detractors call it melodramatic, but I think it captures a lot of the feelings that people in their youth experience.

Steins;Gate - Me having finished the VN gives me a somewhat deeper appreciation of the show, I thought it was a gripping tale of the lengths a person would struggle to protect the people he cares about.

Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199 - The first proper space opera I've seen. I thought it was really entertaining and enjoyed some of the characters observations on morality and politics.

Kimi no Na wa. - I wrote one of the top 4 reviews on this site, which captures most of my thoughts. TL;DR the film is a catharsis of trauma in Japan's history while delivering a classically "Shinkai" story about longing and separation.

Gyakusatsu Kikan - I've read the novel so my understanding and enjoyment of the film is a bit different from the average viewers. I think it's a cautionary tale about the human capacity for violence and killing, and how morality can be bent and twisted by language in unsuspecting ways. It's not an entertaining as some of my other 10s, but I really appreciate its ideas, which I find especially relevant right now.

Sakamichi no Apollon - My most recent 10. Like Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, I thought this was a top notch youth drama and loved the relationship between the two leads.

I also really liked Re:Creators; as someone who used to do a lot of drawing a lot of the ideas about creation really clicked with me.

Cara, foram bem variadas, até pq revi eles em momentos diferentes de minha vida, mas de forma geral eles me ensinaram algo ou me ajudaram a entender algo sobre quem eu sou.

I just read your review on Re:Creators, and...wow, good job!
I never imagined someone is capable of putting my emotions into thoughts and then writing them in a review. Though our views on some anime vary, I couldn't agree with you more on that one.
