Mixed Feelings
This is my first review. Very minor spoilers, at least to me.

I thought Nozaki-Kun was just...alright. I had read many comments and mentions from many people saying it was the shit. That it was the funniest anime of 2014 that it was really good, etc. Even the reviews posted before mine illustrate this. But I found this show just...alright. From the very first episode, I found myself chuckling at most of the jokes, I laughed at some that I found legitimately funny midway through the season and other times, the jokes just weren't funny at all . The story while certainly different than most anime, ...

Another mangaka themed anime has ended and frankly, I was taken as to how a reverse romance between mangaka X assistant has taken place, where it's a girl that's going after a guy, oh and the guy, however was still the usual oblivious about the girl's feelings for him, however the story part of this anime, in my opinion deserves a fair 6, since it was more like a almost there kind of thing where in the end gets spoiled up, ok so it was a bit of turn off, but then again the romance genre of this anime did played up well, but still ...

This is my first review so I am unsure if it will be that helpful. ^_^

This anime could have been handled better, involving the romance that is. If you are planning on watching this anime in hopes of viewing romance or seeing any love between characters this is not recommended. I do however believe this anime was good and is worth viewing even though romance did not occur as I expected, I did enjoy the story quite a bit.

Overall I was really fond of the story and the art work. One of the main problems was that I found myself strongly ...

[Adapted From Original Blog Post]
[Mini Review]

Nozaki-kun is an anime with a solid goal, though perhaps not the right one all things considered. Every pore of the series is dripping with endearing charisma: from the beaming animation to its lovable characters that play off of one another with impeccable comedic timing and high-jinks. This makes Nozaki-kun one of the funniest series I've ever seen episode to episode, and its main vehicle to that end is the satirization of its own genre. The typical shoujo genre has been done so many times that Nozaki-kun is easily able to pick out those cliches formed over repetition and turn ...

I really enjoyed this anime for the first half, and then it started to grow a bit stalet, but retained some humourous momentum. I was expecting a romantic comedy, but that's not really what I got. What I got was a comedy of shoujo romance manga writing.

Story (3/10): Ostensibly the plot is about Sakura Chiyo, a bright and cheerful 16 year old, who has a mad crush on her tall, dark, and laconic classmate Nozaki Umetarou. When she gets herself to confess her love to him, she hems and haws and stutters so much that he mistakes her for a fan, and ...

Looking at the whole of Gekkan Shojo, it's characters were somewhat predictable characters that use cliches, weather it be pretty boy who secretly loves anime and otaku culture to a female who is a brute and uncivilized. It does help to create a more diverse character set, but the show seems to both move at a snails pace, and reach a rather normalized conclusion where very little change has come to the characters and their relationships in the show. There are small hints of changes in the side-characters, but even those can be dismissed by the end of the show if you choose. It felt ...

So I have been depressed, latel- my whole life and I cant seem to stop questioning the point of everything I do on a near constant basis. On top of my own internal criticisms, externally I was sent a brilliant question on another website I review things on "Why do you write long ass reviews no one will ever read?" You know I'm not exactly sure why. On the same day I put up a 70,000 character review of something I'll see someone get a million thumbs up for reviewing the same thing but saying "All I hav 2 say es i luved it <3<3<3." ...

Both a great and difficult series. Great characters, mediocre romance & a ending that is meant to get you to go to the manga.

- Firstly, I marked mixed because it may not be to everyone's taste as its not necessarily a romance anime in the traditional sense. So think about that before starting the anime. -

It's hard to explain, this show doesn't do fan-service and dumb drama, but it fails at actually ending the arcs in the anime. This is entirely made to have the viewer go to the manga to finish the story, or have another season, but assuming this came out in 2014, ...

Although this anime had me cracking up like nobody's business at times, its flaws hard very hard to ignore.

As mentioned in previous reviews, the characters are nothing but archetypes that have no personality outside their gimmick and their personality is just purely focused on their interaction with other characters which are all annoying.

Some of the characters are just plain annoying and hard to watch (like Seo) and some are just dumb to the point that you want to bash your head into a wall.

The romance, which is only given little focus because the show tries to focus the show ...

Without delving much into the plot or the story, … is a story of a girl who has a crush on a guy. One fine day, she walks up to him and confesses it.. well, sort of - there is a bit of a confusion and the girl is now his assistant!

Along the way, we meet a bunch of characters, be it his friends or her friends, and we can see the pairings building up between the characters - there is definitely friendship and laughter in store.

And that’s where this show miserably fails.

While there is a buildup and a lot of interactions between ...

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun is cute, but predictable, episodic, and static.

The art was fine as in it wasn't painful to look at. The sound was decent. I must say that the opening song is quite enjoyable. There were a few tracks that stood out, but nothing amazed me. In fact, it got quite a bit repetitive hearing certain tracks played over and over again during dramatic situations.

There's a good amount of characters introduced in the anime. The story of each is explored a little bit, but by the half-way point, the characters are figured out. No more exploration, and no more development.

Simply put, there is no ...

This anime tells the story of a Sakura girl who falls in love with a man named Nozaki. but Sakura did not realize that Nozaki was a Manga maker who had the pen name Sakiko Yumeno. after that there was a misunderstanding so that Sakura became Nozaki's assistant in making the manga.

The storyline served by comedy makes this anime even more interesting. And don't forget this anime with the romance genre. when i watch it, i enjoy it. but there are some scenes and episodes that make me get bored and 'sleepy' while watching it.

Average graphics and animation. Naturally, the name is also a light ...

If you're like me and get bored with the same relationship teasing and trolling where you sit through an entire series to just be left exactly where you were when you got there, then you're going to dislike this show just as much as i did. It's repetition is excruciating! when it comes down to it, this is just like every other bland romance anime. I usually enjoy shows of all kind, once i get through with it, but with this show it never really got better and the ending just reminded me how annoying it was to me. I knew exactly what was coming ...

A mixed bag of laughs and gags that is sometimes laugh-out-loud hilarious and sometimes falls flat.

Story
The show starts with an unbelievable premise: a cool and serious high school boy named Nozaki-kun is the creator of a popular shojo manga "Let's Fall in Love."  Nozaki has never fallen in love himself, is completely oblivious to our heroine's crush on him, and we seriously question how and why he is writing shojo manga.  However, we accept the trope and proceed to watch him struggle to make his deadlines, relying on his classmates for various parts of the process (beta, backgrounds, and details) and carefully observing his classmates ...

During 2014, I was going to college and going through a bit of a rough patch. At one point, I went to my college's anime club, a different one from the previous college I went to, and they showed two episodes of this anime, Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun, aka Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. I didn't go to any other meetings after that, as the club was too late in the day for me to keep going on a weekly basis at the time. But I did like what I saw of Nozaki-kun, so I decided to watch the rest of the series on my own. I finished ...

Well, let me tell you about this "absolutely mind-blowing" anime called Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. The story is so original, it's about a high school girl who confesses her love to a boy, only to find out that he is actually a famous shoujo manga artist. I mean, who could have ever thought of something like that?

The style of the anime is just so bland and unremarkable, it's like watching paint dry. The characters are all just one-dimensional stereotypes, like the stoic artist, the oblivious protagonist, and the clueless editor. It's like the writers were trying to tick off all the cliches on a checklist.

Speaking of ...

Not really satisfied, wouldn't recommend if you like romance

Story (6)
I mean, it was cute and cheerful, and it was pretty funny, but it felt pretty bland. I love the romance genre, but the story was mediocre at best. It's your typically school anime, and that's it.

Art (7)
The art wasn't amazing like that or anything, but it was pretty simple, which was nice, kind of colorful with some saturation. The art is simple enough not to complain about, but not too crazy.

Sound (6)
I barely noticed the music and the sounds, but at least it didn't cover up the dialogue. It mostly has the typical ...

I mean, it's not that different from any other shoujo manga. Overthinking and flustered main girl, oblivious but kind guy. I'd actually say the side characters were more interesting than the protagonists and that's never good in a series. The show had a few cool moments. I did enjoy the idea of an anime centered around manga creation and most episodes were centered around that in one way or another.

All and all, did Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun do anything groundbreaking? No, not even close. Was it the cutesy shoujo anime that I was looking for to pass the time? Yes and honestly, I don't really ...

This anime might seem simple on the surface, centered around a girl's infatuation with a manga writer and her endeavors to delve deeper into his world, despite his obliviousness to her affections.

It sits comfortably in the realm of 'okay'—not an utter disappointment but far from exceptional. Unfortunately, the narrative lacked substantial growth or significant story progression, leaving much to be desired in terms of depth.

Yet, amidst its shortcomings, it did possess a redeeming quality: a knack for playfully satirizing romantic anime conventions. At times, it hilariously poked fun at its own genre, offering a self-awareness that lent a bit of charm.

However, despite these moments, it ...
