![]() Hi! I'm Panzer IV-J! I am completely normal and can definitely be trusted rating shows with accurate scores. I am always correct, IDC what you say, I am a free thinker. (As of September 13th, 2025) If you’d like to add me as a friend, I ask that we have at least one genuine conversation first. I don’t mind adding new friends, but I’d rather not fill my list with people I’ve never spoken to. So, before sending a request, please take a moment to chat with me—maybe comment on something from my favorites list, share your thoughts on one of my reviews, or just start a casual conversation. As long as it feels genuine (and not just forced for the sake of adding me), I’ll be happy to accept your request. Thanks for understanding! (As of September 27th, 2024) I won't be reviewing anime quite as frequently anymore, and when I do, the reviews likely won’t be as detailed—unless it's for something I feel truly deserves the extra effort. I have a lot of work on my plate, and it doesn't make sense to go out of my way to write a review that might only influence a couple of people to either watch something I enjoy or avoid something I dislike. On the more stringent on what I'm going to be watching side of things; (Spring 2025+) This means I am going to be far more likely to drop crappy/bad/slop type animes that come out each season. I will generally try to force myself to get to episode 3, but I already see so many that just are not worth the time and effort of watching this season past the first episode. This will also apply to older animes that I watch too, but those will probably be a tad less strict on since they are completed and generally I can get a good feeling on if something is worthwhile to watch by some of the reviews. (As of May 25th, 2025) I have not updated my rankings on my profile in a while, this also goes for my 10 favorites on my profile. I will eventually get to it, and when I do this message will disappear. Don't be afraid to drop a crappy show.... Really everyone, forcing yourself to watch a trash show just for completion sake is stupid. I know this might be considered "controversial" to some, but it really is the truth, stop wasting your time on an anime that sucks. If you get to the third episode and don't like it, THEN DROP IT!!! Really simple people, I see people on MAL with like 8 dropped animes, and 200 days of watched anime, and tons of animes in their list rated under 6, AND THEY COMPLETE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. At some point it just is self tourture, even if you do it to review it. Even if it's the eighth episode, and you don't like it, then drop it, stop giving time to it! (End of Rant) "My Last Day" is the best anime, and "Beavis & Butthead" and "Daria" are the best cartoons. The best video game series is Metal Gear Solid. Feel free to message me if you'd like to chat—just keep it respectful, and avoid obvious bait. If your messages are set to private, please add me as a friend so I can respond. {My anime rankings are below this, under "Super Secret Button" in "My Rankings", if you're curious and wanna critique} I’ve only been into anime since late 2021. The reason I got into it was watching Initial D and ReLife. If I hadn’t watched those, I probably wouldn’t have made a MAL account. Initially, I created the account just to organize what I’ve seen and haven’t seen. I wasn’t really into writing reviews, but I started doing it because I felt like others' expectations were either too high or they missed what made certain series special (or overrated). I assume that's how a lot of people feel. As you might have guessed from my interest in Initial D, I really like sports cars and customized vehicles. Not sure what else to say… are you a gangstalker spying on me? Why do you need this information?! Q: How do you drop anime? Why do you have so many dropped? (Probably cannot see my number of dropped on my profile without having me added, but the number of dropped is more than 200 animes) A: I drop anime if it’s boring or too basic. For newly released seasonal anime, I’m more lenient, but I’ll still drop it if it’s mediocre or dull. The reason I have so many dropped is that I tend to start from the lower-rated titles on my PTW list, and drop anything that’s not enjoyable. Q: Why do you write reviews? / Your review isn’t great. A: I write reviews because I enjoy influencing others' viewing experiences. If you disagree with one of my reviews, feel free to message me, but be respectful. Rude/dismissive comments won’t lead to a productive conversation, and I’ll likely view them as trolling. Q: What’s your favorite review that you’ve written? A: My favorite review is probably my reviews of the MF Ghost series by far. I spent over 3.5 hours writing the review on it's first season because I was so frustrated with the anime. That anger pushed me to be as honest and detailed as possible, and I even took extra time to clean up any grammar or punctuation issues. The series threw away the essence of Initial D to make MF Ghost more simplified and unrealistic, likely to attract a broader audience. As a huge Initial D fan (probably my most re-watched anime), this was a major letdown. Then later I made one of the 2nd season which really sums up my thoughts of the series as a whole there too. Q: Why the Panzer IV-J username and tank profile picture? A: I used to main German land 4.3 battle rating in War Thunder, so I took inspiration from that for my username. Plus, I just think tanks are interesting & cool, that’s why I chose a tank for my profile. You really read all of that? You must be ridiculously bored... These rankings change often and are not really "set in stone", feel free to look through them and tell me your thoughts! These Rankings Were Last Changed On: July 24th, 2025. Major Guidelines: #1. Prefixes: 1. {M} = "Merge" → This includes all seasons and usually movies. My biggest overall favorite will generally be the one marked with {M}, representing the entire series unless otherwise differentiated. A. "Merge" also applies to the HE section, where it can signify another anime related to one above it in the numbered rankings. These are part of the same series but are interchangeable in terms of enjoyment. B. This mainly applies to my Top 20, while lower-ranked entries are more likely to represent the full series, even if {M} is not explicitly marked (unless specified). 2. {C} = "Combined Entrée" / "Combined" → These are rare and typically apply to: A. Anime set in the same universe (e.g., TYPE-Moon or KEY visual novel adaptations). B. Anime from the same author. C. Anime with very similar genres/themes, placed and rated close together. Subcategories: {C-S} = "Similar" {C-U} = "Universe" {C-A} = "Author" 3. {S-↑} & {S-↓} = “Similar Anime” → These are similar anime that are close in rankings that are different enough to set each one apart from one another, but close enough to be similar setting wise. Up arrow shows similar to one above, and down means similar to the one below it. They will be used for both animes with arrows pointing to each other. Of course the one on top is liked more though, but they will be close. #2. Honorable Extras (HE): 1. I use ".5" ratings and "HE" (Honorable Extras) for additional rankings. 2. HEs include movies, similar anime, mini-series (5-10 minute episodes or 2-6 full episodes), Donghua (Chinese animation), and Hanguk Aeni (Korean animation). 3. HEs are unranked within their section (e.g., Favorites 1-10 + unranked HEs). However, they are still ranked above the next main section. 4. Movies can be fully ranked within the Top 20, unless marked as an HE. 5. Ecchi anime are typically placed in the HE section. 6. Only one anime per series is ranked unless a sequel, prequel, or spin-off is significantly different from the original. However, multiple titles from the same series can appear as HEs. #3. Donghua & Hanguk Aeni: 1. Donghua (Chinese animation) → Not placed in numbered rankings, since MyAnimeList (MAL) generally does not classify them as traditional anime. Instead, they are included as HEs. 2. Hanguk Aeni (Korean animation) → May be included in ranked spots, as they fall into a "gray area" on MAL, with mixed opinions on their classification. Minor Guidelines: 1. My rankings are subject to change as I watch more anime and my opinions evolve. The list is constantly growing. 2. This list combines all genres and themes, making exact placements difficult. I rank anime based on personal enjoyment, so my rankings may not always reflect how much I actually liked them. 3. I may add currently airing anime that haven’t finished yet. Typically, I decide by episode 7 if an anime will make my list, but rankings may shift as the season progresses. 4. Anime titles are listed in English unless no official English title exists. What My Scoring Means (And how likely I will drop something with that rating I give it): 1-4: Bad/Unbearable—rating reflects the degree of how much I disliked it. (Likely to drop) 5: Mediocre. (High chance of dropping) 6: Tolerable, but not likely to recommend. (50/50 on dropping) 7: Good, though I may not re-watch. (Unlikely to drop) 8: Thoroughly Enjoyable. (Won't drop) 9: Highly Enjoyable, with minor issues. (Definitely won't drop) 10: Practically perfect. (Definitely won't drop)
Here’s a breakdown of how my rankings are structured: 1-20: These are my main favorites—my absolute top anime, along with Honorable Extras (HEs). 21-30: These are an extension of my Top 20. While slightly less memorable to me, they are still amazing anime that I highly recommend. From this point onward, my rankings may shift more frequently. 31-50: These anime are still great, but they start to decline slightly in impact the further down the list they go. Some of these may not be as widely praised by the anime community, or they might be highly rated by others but resonated with me a little less. 1–20 Favorites: |

i like goth and one day i just randomly asked her if she liked goth and she wrote a paragraph of why she hates them. then asked if i liked them. i said yes of course i like them but didn't go into details. and that was it. she started sending me reels saying "suddenly i like goth" and kept liking post related to those. even in her mal account she posted a goth girl on her profile picture and made it her profile asthetic. that's where i was done. don't worry i still watch anime and manga sometimes but it's just i won't be on mal anymore.
I'm gonna be honest, the whole problem of internet socializing is in the same boat as politics for me, which is that it's a topic that's too much of a crazy mess for me to even want to discuss it. And honestly, I'm not even old but I'm at a point in my life where I'd just like to live it and steer clear of as much hassle and problematic stuff as I reasonably can. I'm a person who just wants to live my life, work my job, watch anime here, play a game there, meetup with a friend, do my personal hobbies etc.
The rule I go by personally is basically the meme of the dog sitting in a chair with the house on fire around him (yeah I don't know the name of it). I just like to watch anime when I've got time for it, see how I like it, and afterwards watch whatever is next on my PTW list. Reviews and forums are nice for what I like to use them for, when they end up turning out not as nice I just simply don't need to be a part of it.
Thanks very much for the FR! :) Likewise, it's great to make a new friend, looking forward to more discussions in the future.
btw are you playing War Thunder?
