(As of September 27th, 2024) I won't be reviewing anime as frequently anymore, and when I do, the reviews likely won’t be as detailed—unless it's for something I feel truly deserves the extra effort. I have a lot of work on my plate, and it doesn't make sense to go out of my way to write a review that might only influence a couple of people to either watch something I enjoy or avoid something I dislike.
I’m not sure if this even matters to the few people who check out my profile, but I figured I'd mention it just in case you're curious.
"My Last Day" is the best anime, and "Beavis & Butthead" and "Daria" are the best cartoons. The best video game series is Metal Gear Solid. 1-4: Bad/Unbearable—rating reflects the degree of how much I disliked it. (Likely to drop)
5: Mediocre. (High chance of dropping)
6: Tolerable, but not likely to recommend. (50/50 on dropping)
7: Good, though I may not re-watch. (Unlikely to drop)
8: Thoroughly Enjoyable. (Won't drop)
9: Highly Enjoyable, with minor issues. (Definitely won't drop)
10: Practically perfect. (Definitely won't drop)
I’ve only been into anime since late 2021. The reason I got into it was watching Initial D and ReLife. If I hadn’t watched those, I probably wouldn’t have made a MAL account. Initially, I created the account just to organize what I’ve seen and haven’t seen. I wasn’t really into writing reviews, but I started doing it because I felt like others' expectations were either too high or they missed what made certain series special (or overrated). I assume that's how a lot of people feel.
As you might have guessed from my interest in Initial D, I really like sports cars and customized vehicles. Not sure what else to say… are you a gangstalker spying on me? Why do you need this information?!
Q: How do you drop anime? Why do you have so many dropped?
A: I drop anime if it’s boring or too basic. For newly released seasonal anime, I’m more lenient, but I’ll still drop it if it’s mediocre or dull. The reason I have so many dropped is that I tend to start from the lower-rated titles on my PTW list, and drop anything that’s not enjoyable.
Q: Why do you write reviews? / Your review isn’t great.
A: I write reviews because I enjoy influencing others' viewing experiences. If you disagree with one of my reviews, feel free to message me, but be respectful. Rude or dismissive comments won’t lead to a productive conversation, and I’ll likely view them as trolling.
Q: What’s your favorite review that you’ve written?
A: My review of MF Ghost by far. I spent over 3.5 hours writing it because I was so frustrated with the anime. That anger pushed me to be as honest and detailed as possible, and I even took extra time to clean up any grammar or punctuation issues. The series threw away the essence of Initial D to make MF Ghost more simplified and unrealistic, likely to attract a broader audience. As a huge Initial D fan (probably my most re-watched anime), this was a major letdown.
Q: Why the Panzer IV-J username and tank profile picture?
A: I like to main German land 4.3BR in War Thunder, so I took inspiration from that for my username. Plus, I just think tanks are cool, so that’s why I chose a tank for my profile.

These rankings change often and are not really "set in stone", I made different rankings for different purposes, feel free to look through them and tell me your thoughts!

Major guidelines:
#1. Prefixes:
{MERGE} prefix before the title means it includes all seasons & sometimes movies. That said, my biggest overall favorite will tend to be the one marked down, where it stands for all the seasons (Unless differentiated). Merge will also be in the HE section, where it can signify another anime that’s related to one above it (in the numbered section), which is part of the same series but is recognizable as being on equal footing and would be typically interchangeable.
{COMB} = “a combined entrée”, these will be rare, it typically is an anime that is part of the same universe as the other anime it is linked to, made by the same author (such as TYPE-Moon or KEY Visual novel adaptations), OR they are an anime in a very similar genre and theme, that I would place together.
#2. Honorable Extras (HE):
I use ".5" ratings and "HE" for Honorable Extras. These Honorable Extras can include movies, similar anime, mini-series (with 5-10 minute episodes or 2-6 full episodes), Donghua (Chinese animation), and Hanguk Aeni (Korean animation).
Honorable Extras (HEs) are not ranked in order from most to least favorite within their section. (Example: Favorites 1-10 & unranked HEs). However, these unranked HEs are still ranked higher than the next section.
Movies are eligible to be ranked within the list. If a movie is not marked as an HE, it can only be placed within the "Top 20" anime spots. Ecchi anime are included as well but are typically kept in the Honorable Extras category.
Only one anime from a series will be ranked unless a sequel, prequel, or related title is significantly different from the original. However, multiple titles from the same series can appear as Honorable Extras.
#3. Donghua (Chinese animation), and Hanguk Aeni (Korean animation):
I won’t place Donghua in numbered spots since they’re generally not considered traditional anime by the MyAnimeList (MAL) community, however, be included as HEs.
For Hanguk Aeni, I might include them in the rankings, as they fall into a "gray area" on MAL, with opinions being mixed.
Minor guidelines:
1. My rankings are subject to change as my opinions evolve and I watch more anime. My list is constantly growing. Also I will mention, this list combines all genres and themes, so it is kinda hard to place all of them in an exact spot. Plus, I rank anime based on my personal enjoyment, so my ratings might not always reflect how much I liked them.
2. I will list an anime’s title in English, except in cases where an English title isn’t available.
1–20 Favorites:These are my main favorites. The top 20 is pretty "set in stone" for the most part. These tend to change rarely, maybe three times a year something might be moved or added.
