Both series are very text heavy, and dialogue driven. Bakemonogatari, however, delivers this phonemically, Sasami-san takes a different approach at it. Sasami-san is based around a neet, where as Bakemonogatari is supernatural.

Both series have a character that has god-like abilities and they use these powers to alter the world in order to get what they desire at the moment. Both have other characters that try to prevent these changes from happening. Also, both of the main female characters are considered "weird", but in Sasami-san, the female lead is a NEET. While in Suzumiya Haruhi, the female lead is eccentric and has an obsession with aliens, espers, and time-travelers.

The characters are really funny and seem to have nothing better to do with their lives than going around and interacting with the rest of the cast. There doesn't seem to be much of a plot in either and both put a heavy emphasis on comedy and dialogue.

Denpa Onna and Sasami-san have a similar girl who does not attend school and is seen as an outcast or a NEET, Denpa Onna and Sasami-san share a whimsical young feeling to the series. Sasami-san being a bit more Sci-fi than Denpa Onna, both series have their fair share of very unique and unforgettable characters.

Both are surreal with unique, but beautiful art. Both main characters have secrets and powers they aren't sure of. If you liked one, I'm sure you'll like the other!

When I began watching the first episode of Sasami-san I immediately thought of FLCL. The themes are super bizarre. Both of them have over the top characters and an overwhelming sense of "what the f*ck?!" when you are watching them. Symbolism, unique camera angles, heavy dialogue and imagery are key components of both. Sasami reminds me a lot of a mix between Naota and Mamimi, but instead of being homeless she's a hikikomori.

Both series are hard to get into as some of the aspect of both shows are hard to understand but once you get into it you can enjoy exploring the world building and characters. Both series have similar aspect of mysterious world and logic.

Both Sasami and Yurie (main characters of both series) are Goddesses and high scool students at the same time. Both anime show they daily life and adventures they have thanks to theirs powers. Sasami-san@Ganbaranai is anime with much od funservise and Kamichu is more plain slice of life but both tell stories about friendship and love.

Both shows have a stoic female lead who used to have a job or responsibility that was a lot of work.

Sasami and Hachiman both have dry wit and a less than positive outlook on school because of precursory events.

Both about Hikikomoris (shut-ins), comedy, romance.

Cute girls, gods, humour and both animes have similar colours. However, KamiHaji's main theme is romance and it's more lighthearted than Sasami-san.

Both anime have a lot of fun characters, including older brothers who look after their little sisters! OreImo references a lot of otaku culture whilst Sasami-san (while doing that as well) mainly references Japanese mythology, but I think Sasami-san is thematically close enough to OreImo that every OreImo fan should give it a shot.

With similar situation where the girl is a shut-in (don't know if the spell is right). Can't write well because Sasami-san@ganbaranai is wierdly-cool for some unknown reason.

Akiko, who is a brocon, and Kamiomi, who is a siscon, both give bombastic yet comedic verbalizations, which are usually ignored, about their devotion to their sibling.

Both anime have a plot of brother and sister falling in love to each other. Both brothers in these anime will do anything for their loving sister. Both brothers in these anime will give up everything for their loving sister. Both brothers in these anime are helping their sisters to achieve their goals in life. Both brothers in these anime are helping their sisters to find friends. The difference between the two is: sasami-san@Ganbaranai is a supernatural anime about Gods while Oreimo 2 is more focus on having a good time with your sister, playing eroge games.

These two anime are highly based on fiction/mythology and they both contain lots of supernatural elements. Some episodes can be very random. The main characters (Nyaruko and Sasami) are voiced by the same person. If you don't mind a bit of randomness once in a while, check these anime.

- The main characters are both girls who do not go outside a lot or talk to people. - They try to get back to the outside world by going to school and making friends; however, both are socially awkward. - They both also like spending a lot of time on their computers and video games. - Both have a brother they can turn to.

Kamisama no Memochou and Sasami-san have similar aspects to them such as, the NEET factor and shut in they're strictly bound to being indoors all the time. Also both girls have a very high connection to the internet and have surveillance cameras. Kamisama no Memochou falls more into the mystery, drama category where as Sasami-san is a category of it's own.

Both titles are surrealist as hell and interestingly enough it turns out all the surreal stuff is kinda justified by similar plot devices in both titles.

Both are about deities that try to live a normal lifein Japan but just can't.

The crazy life of Japanese deities!

Tsuritama and Sasami share a similar whimsical bond between the two. Both series involve aliens? and some type of natural disaster and have some very unique and weird characters to thicken the plot.

The relationship between the female lead and the male lead is characterized by the female being somewhat of a tsundere and the male accepting, and sometimes even enjoying, the physical and verbal abuse that she liberally dispenses. Of course, there are plenty of dere moments from the female lead as well.

Both Inari, Konkon, Koi Iroha ans Sasami-san Ganbaranai are comedies involving gods trying to settle their lives. Inari and Sasami have somehow similar personalities.

Shaft is involved in both of these series. Therefore, expect to see absurd humor and over-the-line dialogue in various episodes from both series. Both the main protagonist in the series are also not so normal along with most of the supporting characters. Both series features the usage of word play and heavy dialogue usage that is absurd, abstract, random, and played off as parody.
report Recommended by Stark700
At first these series do seem quite different given the main characters aren't much alike aside from some awkwardness with people. And yet there are many elements that have me thinking of one with the other. The bright carefree fanservice, wacky action with characters flying all over the place. And possibly most importantly, a main character who can wreck the world with a mere thought.

Both shows can be confusing in the beginning and their reputation has probably unduly suffered because of that. If you like comedy, ecchi, fantastic art, and a bit of drama, then both these shows deliver.
