Both series have a character that has god-like abilities and they use these powers to alter the world in order to get what they desire at the moment. Both have other characters that try to prevent these changes from happening.
Also, both of the main female characters are considered "weird", but in Sasami-san, the female lead is a NEET. While in Suzumiya Haruhi, the female lead is eccentric and has an obsession with aliens, espers, and time-travelers.
The main characters are teenage girls that unconsciously manipulate the world around them with god-like abilities. The other characters fix the problems that the main character creates.

Both series involve a godlike character unconsciously changing the world to appease themselves and have characters who try to reverse these changes or keep them in check. Also, both are comedies and parody lots of other anime and manga.
Reality revolves around the will of a single high school girl, and the world is always at the risk of ending, with characters always trying to prevent that outcome. Sasami-san includes Haruhi references.
