Another cyberpunk anime with a cyborg heroine as the lead role.

Two of the better classic cyberpunk OVA's that I've seen. Simply put if you like old, gritty, cyberpunk with adult themes, great action, etc, you'll enjoy both.

Armitage came out around the same time as GITS and was therefor completely overshadowed by GITS' huge success. Both series have stacked intelligent heroins that excel in combat and who are members of a policing force and both have strong muscle bound male leads that play the important balancing role. Both fall into the "Cyber Punk" genre and both ask many of the same questions regarding the questions of what makes us human and the very definition of life. However, One key difference is in how they approach these same philosophical questions. While GITS uses Motoko (a cyborg) to search for  read more

Both titles are of the cyberpunk genre and feature lavishly-designed futuristic worlds. The protagonists are young cyborg/technologically-enhanced women on a mission to unlock the clandestine reasons for their existences. These ladies have the capacity to be killing machines, yet through their experiences in a fateful partnership, prove they can love as well as they can fight.

Classic '90s AIC/Pioneer LDC girls-with-guns science fiction anime.

Both are cyberpunk anime set within a Martian city, where androids are treated as second-class to humans. Each include stories surrounding androids that almost perfectly mimic humans being targeted and killed.

Similar style narrator, Armitager III having none other than Kiefer Sutherland, who narrated call of duty: world at war. Goes perfectly with the old school cyberpunk anime theme.

Both anime have female main characters that are androids, these two anime have the same philosophy of what makes a robot different from a human. Both anime also fall into the category of cyber punk and action.

Similar cyberpunk setting with plots revolving around machines and humanity. They share much of the same overall feel.

Both anime (and I'm referring to both franchises in there entirety) are cyberpunk themed shows about people who are androids, robots, bio-androids, ect. they are often persecuted and segregated by society for not being "human". Despite this oppression and inequality in their societies the female mc's in both anime are able to find reliable and caring human partners who accept and love them for the people they are. Together the two lovers in both anime fight back against the world in all it's injustice and bear their fangs at society in order to change them for the better. Thanks for reading, -Tooru25.

- Both are very 80's and 90's cyberpunk, Armitage III is more depressing and dark though. - The way both stories are told are also reminiscent of old original OVA's from their time. - Great aesthetic

Some characters are not as human as they appear to be. Major characters spend the whole show trying to learn what is really going on.

Both girls with guns, both share the same theme (androids) and talk about its issues, but Armitage is more cyberpunk whereas Najica is more a spy anime.

Although dealing with completely different subjects, both animes have a nice mix of action and things that make you think about; both are (somehow) sci-fis. And: they are on a similair graphical level (although Blue Submarine No. 6 sometimes uses CGI in a not too skilled way). By the way: both animes exist as single movies and 4-part OVAs.

Different look and feel but there is a female enhanced with cyborg-like technology. Expresses exceptional strength, speed and agility. Some romance.

In fact I wonder how I cannot notice the similarity from th very beginning?! Firstly, they both involve police and detective job, and their tasks are really far from ordinary ones. Secondly, the characters are very alike. Male characters are both in some kind of surbodance to their partners, they are both hulk types. Women are bold, even risky depending on their partners a lot, though the latter might not notice that. Thus, if you like the pairing, police atmosphere and unusual cases watch both.

Short cyberpunk story´s, simmilair animation , the whole pakage is there, mis-use of technology, filthy villians, cybercrime, blood, dark background story, and cultclassics! there u have it!

Both explore the philosophical application of human rights to robots and the relationships between humans and robots.
