Synopsis

Fifty years ago, horrific creatures dubbed as the "enemies of humanity" suddenly appeared around the world. To combat these threats, teenagers gifted with supernatural abilities called "Talents"—such as pyrokinesis and time travel—hone their powers at an academy on a secluded island.

Nanao Nakajima, however, is quite different from the others on the island: he has no Talent. With many "Talented" teenagers around him, Nanao is often a target for bullying, but even so, he still strives to complete his training. Soon after, two transfer students, the mysterious Kyouya Onodera and the mind-reading Nana Hiiragi, join the class. But just as everyone starts blending as comrades-in-arms, mysterious disappearances begin to threaten the class's entire foundation.

This review is only a spoiler if you are going in blind.

Lemme say, this anime is not the best thing ever but it's different in the best way.
This anime grabs all of the clichés of a garbage anime then turns into Death Note on a whim which is really funny conceptually.
I love how every character has this heightened stupidity because they live up to their cliché magic plain ass personality archetypes. The story telling feels pretty stupid tho, as if the author is making things up as they go per-episode, and lemme tell you: if you read the manga it really shows.

Mixed Feelings
This show feels like wasted potential. Like other reviewers said, it's hard to give a detailed review without spoiling plot details, so instead I'll say this: the writing feels like a blend between AoT and Death Note, but ends up being poorly executed. We had the capacity for a deeply morally ambiguous conflict with lots of mind games, but instead this show ends up having very slow character development, a plot that isn't very interconnected, and our detective ends up being very dumb. Despite this, it was still decently enjoyable, especially if you are willing to look past the few pivotal moments where the writing ...

The first 8 to even 10 episodes feel like the story was being written on the spot while the anime was being made. It's illogical and painful to watch. Characters behave like NPCs—if they’re not currently on screen, it’s as if they just stop existing or do nothing useful off-camera. Only the last few episodes start to make some sense and actually begin to develop the story, but waiting that long for things to get moving? Yikes.

Honestly, after the first episode, you could skip the next 5 or 6 and not miss anything important—you’d save time and frustration. The art style is mediocre at best, ...
