Mahou Shoujo Ore
add

Mahou Shoujo Ore harkens back to the feel of magical girl parody OVA series from the early and mid 2000s like Dokuro-chan, Dai Mahou Touge (Magical Witch Punie-Chan), and Puni Puni Poemii. All of these shows use hyper-violence (and sometimes fan service) as a source of comedy. Mahou Shoujo Ore adds a little extra bit of spice with gender bending magical girl transformations. If you enjoyed one of the old OVAs, check out Ore; if you liked Ore, check out these old pioneers.

Yuru Camp and Amanchu! are both relaxing slice of life series about the outdoors with Yuru Camp focusing on camping and Amanchu! focusing on scuba diving. Both also include a dynamic between a rather laid back girl becoming friends with a much more energetic/silly girl.

Sora yori mo Tooi Basho

Both Sound! Euphonium and A Place Further Than The Universe seem to be typical cute-girl slice-of-life shows on the surface, but in reality they are heart-felt coming of age stories that go well beyond slice of life anime (not that there is anything wrong with that genre). If you look closely, you'll notice that neither of these anime actually have the "Slice of Life" genre tag listed for them on MAL. Both are about reaching for a goal which first seems unreachable: turning around a school's concert band program to be the best in the country, and being part of an expedition to Antarctica.

Comic Girls
add

Both are slice of life shows following a cute female cast of characters producing art. New Game! is about girls making art for video games while Comic Girls is about girls making manga. Both are great examples of the cute girls + activity subgenre of the cute girls doing cute things subgenre of slice of life, but you may like one over the other depending on if making video games or making manga is more interesting to you.

Asobi Asobase

If you've seen Asobi Asobase and would like to see the roots of "true" slice of life comedy, check out Azumanga Daioh. If Azumanga Daioh was a long-time favorite of yours and you'd like to see what slice of life comedy has become, watch Asobi Asobase. While Asobi Asobase is a bit more bonkers at times and definitely more crass than Azumanga Daioh, both share a similar feel in comedic timing. The girls in Asobi Asobase are also much more often simply horrible people compared to the generally "good girls" of Azumanga Daioh.
