both main characters working on an important project, both are in suits and because of their tomboy goofiness well, they get the girl/girls.

both are mecha shows orientated for kids and kiddy looking armor, though the wataru ova is better in plot and charachter building and/ or continue on it from the previous show.

Gall Force: The Revolution

both serie's had the unpopulair trend back then to ' alternate re-imagine' their franchise wich nor worked well nor gained any more fandom. same goes for the re-imagined wataru show from the late 90's.

overfiend 3 is not the conclusion of the ova serie's, but both have the writing and conclusion problem. I spoke like 5 year ago on an animecon briefly with the overfiend creator and ofc studio interference, low on ideas and deadline's. Sakura wars have the same conclusion problem mainly with recycling the same enemies time and time again, and as a female anime creator artist back in 2000, (not me) well is was clear that it was a mans world to abide to. female's never had an easy time in japan especially anime.

both are maybe the last of mostly animated feature films back in the after-millenium years that in my eye are damn good anime films before mostly digital and 3-d animation kicked in.

Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040
add

both shows have militairy and (geo) political organizations that have their own agenda to face the threat,an non-human entity that wants merge everything. the ending of the show is simmilair to me because of the villian transformation and the scream-singing just like in rahx. there is some mecha-human fusion in bubblegum crisis but in a small way, in rahx its almost a prominent thing for a " dolem' to sing while operated.

Gasaraki
add

both are inspired by evangelion, despite that Gasaraki in the north american anime media scene 'claimed' that the show somehow was inspired to be better than evangelion, i think till that Rax still has so far the upperhand in better coherent storytelling and being closer by a big margin to evangelion. both have an sort of complexity in chara background and their connection to their mecha, gasaraki is more mostly more militairy-machine oriented than the ' otherworldly mecha' story it wants to tell.

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon

Saint Seiya
add

the king and queen of bodyarmour transformations, both shows popularity used to heavily rely on that even though sailormoon is more magical orientated. Same goes for the shurato show and ronin warriors wich were inspired by saint seiya.

...then you might like
Angel Cop
add

even that angel cop is more grittier, both have female protagonist from a time that people din't bother with that forced fed ' inclusive and gender-bender' crap. Gunsmith cats is lighter due to more comedy but both shows have a love guns guns and more guns, and here and there a grenade. enjoy

If you liked
Gad Guard

...then you might like
B'T X
add

its a matter of storytelling and execution. B'tx is a better youngsters and mecha show than the mediocre modern gadguard serie. Both deals with young teens wich life are changing with their mecha discovery, and then the overly stereotypical gadguard chara with ' I don't want to go with you' wich turns a complete 540 degrees in a microsecond, Bt'x has less that kind of problems

RahXephon: Tagen Hensoukyoku
add

Rahxephon is an better Evangelionesque ( rip-off) than my recent recomm. Both have the alter the world theme and weird stuff happens and both have quite high production values, back in 2006 when i saw the Rahxpheon movie i thought it was like another modern popanime movie with little meaning , well i was wrong i mean look at the fanbase today from back then , still holds up somehow.

2 of the last mostly fully animated anime classic movie's ( with exception redline) to date. just like when i saw the bebop serie's YEARS ago, it remains populair and both the films age like damn fine wine, while most serie's , ovas went fully digital in the late 90' early 00's. and both portrait that back then anime was full of life, and much much more.

Godzilla: S.P

both presents to me one of the biggest shit problems of most modern anime in general: suspense and mystery in the beginning and then closes off unfinished or in a Terrible cliffhanger way, like money was running out or something . And i personally hated it dat Singular point was the victim of that, and we all know the story of deadman wonderland.... oh man what a shitfest ):

Dorohedoro

like in the good ol' 90's, in vampire hunter's case and many others from that time , Dorohedoro is today like those both unfinished 12 ep serie's and perhaps unfinished manga on a short notice , wether the popularity rules it in or out, we ALL want more from Dorohedoro

Honneamise is more an friendly light hearted alternative take on the spacerace ( 1950's -1960's). Jih-roh goes more about alt. post war insecurities. Both take's their course in a " What if" history if i can say it that way, good childhood memories!

Don't try to be hardball against the ladie's , girls with guns before even the term exsisted back then and both have their hands full to solve the case whatever the outcome, and both have some comedic moments between them even if Burn up W has more ecchi to it . love it

Despite both being mecha anime, They as well portrait as sort of a remake hommage of the original serie's. in gundam's case mobile suit was sort of a hommage to the 25th anniv. charachter called Casval rem daikun ( a.k.a the red comet) u can see the simmilarity with the Zechs marquise persona , the helmet , the clothing , the posture.

Mashin Eiyuuden Wataru: Owarinaki Toki no Monogatari
add

Both are very magical anime ova's from the 90's and both have that RPG adventure sense , the wataru ova don't use mecha's this time more like magical creature's . Both have been released as a game on the famicon system in japan, and both revolve about important artifacts to revive certain deity's

Small mecha fighters and their pilots fighting against evil overlords, both of them have a more chibi look compared to macross and gundam, and both are very rare to get on dvd!

Not for the weakhearted!!!!! this is 18+ material if it comes to oldskool demon-occult horror anime. Both have the story about demondeity's or even demon kings revivals into a chosen persons body with all the ancient rituals, scaryness and intense bloodshed along the way and of some WTF moments, u have been warned

add

a lot of space ova's in the 80's and realy 90's had a intense space music intro, heavy synthesizer and everything, both these have that beside having a female star in the show ( god i love that from oldskool stuff) make them look badass

If you liked
Choujin Locke: Lord Leon
add

Angel Densetsu
add

if there is one thing i really get crummy eyes from its that both these ova's in the intro it shows chara or things that NEVER FUCKING HAPPEN in the anime itself!!!!!!!!!!, for example locke: lord leon shows 4 charachters in the intro, cornelia, the young luitenant ( both from the movie) a girl named amazona and a masked villain that walked straight out of the recording studio of saint seiya, and they DON'T apppear. Angel densetsu, one hel of a treat to watch BUT DON'T SHOW ITS WINGS IN THE INTRO WHEN THEY NEVER BLOODY APPEAR IN THE ANIME!!! to say some of the flaws of oldskool anime i love and collect to death ):
