I'm enjoying the story as well, although it's really gruesome and morbid the art complements it perfectly and it has amazing visual metaphores.

Honestly I was kinda curious if only I see myself on 3rd place because there are multiple people who have the same amount of points.

Also I doubt I will stay there for long, maybe even next week my placement will drop significantly.

I can see why you'd think my low rating was because of ripoffy elements at the end, but my opinion of the final installment was already low before I figured out Isayama's influences (somewhere around 1-3/10). I wrote most of the review quite a while before it finished airing, and the last few paragraphs were added just before it had finished, to give more context about the direction the author took... why certain choices were made, etc. In retrospect, I have no problems with most of his influences up to S3 P2, even if some of them could be argued to be "ripped off." Where I have more of a problem is toward the end. It's still different enough from what it ripped off to the point that I think it's salvageable. The problem is that I feel like he wasn't sure how to conclude his series, and he stuck too close to his influences, and I don't think the choice was advisable. If I thought the ending was done well, I'd still note the ripoff, but I'd be much less harsh.

Everything for me was at least 7/10 up to S3 P2. Once MAPPA took over, it went to 5/10, 3/10, then 1/10. It had to be lower than 3/10 by that criteria. It could have been 2/10, I guess, but I was so disappointed with the ending and its execution that I wanted to give it the lowest that I could. Honestly, I hardly like anything about the latter portion of the series other than Paths was a fascinating idea but not always executed as well as I'd like (I wasn't keen on how he was shaping history through Paths and it seemed like it was meant to smooth out potential plot holes but ended up making everything more convoluted and paradoxically creating plot holes).

1/10 is harsh, but this is a fairly polarizing ending compared to the average anime finale. A friend on here noted my 1/10 as well, and he said it was amusing how all of his friends' ratings were either 1/10 or 8-10/10 for this installment of AoT. :P

Why, does Vindland Saga season 2 turn into a romcom? I don't have a problem with choosing genres, what I have a problem with is tonal inconsistency.

Just because there is a listed genre doesn't mean I agree with the approach. The show is a tonal mess because the genre doesn't fit with the premise. It's like if I made a movie about the president fighting aliens in an iron man suit then labeling it at a serious movie. The tone clashes terribly with the premise and it doesn't work. Even if you know it's a serious movie beforehand it doesn't change the fact that they took the wrong approach. Yes, I saw the comedy tag, but I don't think that it was the right approach. Knowing it's trash beforehand doesn't make it not trash. The levity was too forced and juxtaposed the serious moments too greatly.
