I might have said that if anything, I'd rather be a Buddhist than one of any other religion, as I agree with many points of their philosophy.
I guess I might have posted something like that, perhaps in a slightly garbled way.
But I am not a Buddhist, and neither do I ever plan to become one.
I prefer forging my own life philosophy as I go rather than take up ones made by others.

Yay! I got award! :D
Brilliant post that one.
But me being a Buddhist? Where did you get that from? I can't remember writing anything like that anywhere.

I see you are watching Now and Then, Here and There, an absolute classic and a somewhat buried treasure in my opinion. What do you think about it so far?

You just need to put [ img ]link to image[ /img ]
(without the spaces)
you can get the link by right clicking the picture, clicking 'properties' and it'll give you the url.
hope that helps.
you can also look on the BBcode help thing on 'edit profile' it's under your about me section.

LMAO :D
You misunderstood my comment. Read it once more, as I made no mention of you paying for a picture of me. Quite the opposite really :D
As for internet stupidity, I'm happy to go with that description :)

To be honest, if you wanted to use pictures of me I'd expect you to ask me for payment first xD
As for the article about Aspierations, maybe you're right. But what about the one for Gandhi? Or Martin Luther King? Are they dealing with stupid things people do? Or is it the fact that they "get off" on saying things like Gandhi was a pedo, or that he hated black people?
I don't think I'm misunderstanding ED at all. I understand it perfectly. The misconception may be on your part, as you believe ED to be comedy at it's finest. I think if the guys who contribute to ED are really that funny, then they should put themselves up to bat. Let everyone play judge, jury, and comedy executioner for them, and see if they can take it. It they can't, then they got no right dishing it out.
To be honest, ED doesn't offend me in the slightest. Not much does really. Serious, as far as I'm concerned, would involve a line of stern faced men and women in stern suits standing in a stern line and telling me (sternly), that there is a problem that needs to be fixed immediately. That or my girlfriend throwing a wobbler.
Everything else (including our little tete-a-tete), is just fluff really. It's just a way to pass the time :)

1. I'm curious where this intelligent design is on ED, as the site was created using the same template as Wikipedia, Uncyclopedia, and several other sites like that. That's not really intelligent design dude.
2. In actual fact, if you put a photo of yourself on the net, and then someone used that photo without your authority for whatever purpose, then you would have legal grounds to sue that person (or company). It's happened many times already, and I'm surprised you aren't aware of any of the numerous successful lawsuits filed against various websites for just such offenses.
Intellectual Property is one of the big things when it comes to the internet, especially when you're talking about the legal side of things. Personal information doesn't need a copyright as it is already covered by privacy law, and any images relating to a person fall under both privacy and intellectual property laws.
You may want to check on the legal side of things before making sweeping statements about how "free" the internet is. And the whole ED article about Aspierations is a huge crock of horsecrap. It's mildly offensive drivel that only some who actually does suffer from Asperger's syndrome would believe. I'm not entirely sure why you believe that it is the "bible" for the internet, but the simple fact is you are incorrect in this belief. It's simply a bible for net wannabes who have no real moral, social, or legal means with which they can vent their collective spleens and shake their fists at the world - which largely ignores them.
I'm not sure if there is a bible for the internet, but I'm damn sure that ED aint it.
I'm curious as to how you'd interpret their articles about Gandhi (who, ED states, hated black people?!?!), or Martin Luther King (which I would consider extremely racist).
There's a big difference between satire and the kind of humour offered by ED. But people will laugh at anything these days, as long as they're not the butt of the joke.
3. I never take anything seriously. Tis part of my charm :)

Your point b is actually incorrect as it is a violation of various laws of privacy (which do extend to the internet), and it's also a breach of intellectual property rights, which are generally considered borderless (the photos themselves constitute part of the intellectual property of the person who took them).
Unless ED obtained written permission to use that information, they're leaving themselves open for various lawsuits. The main reason sites like Wikipedia can get away with stuff like that is because they try to only report facts, and they tend not to ridicule specific people.
If you believe that the internet is "free" then you're sorely mistaken. Sites like ED are free at the moment because people don't understand that they have rights, especially where information is involved.
Once you start ridiculing someone on a personal level, even going so far as to publish photos of them with so-called humourous "comments", you're effectively victimising that person.
Oh, and the other articles are actually no better. I found a few of them that dealt with mental disorders to be quite derogatory, and generally just the kind of thing I'd expect from a 12 year old trying to impress his mates with how cool he is (look at me, I can take the piss out of people who can't fight back - I'm the coolest ever, etc, etc...).
If you like that kind of tabloid humour then feel free to enjoy, but ED is just not my thing. Like I said, I don't mind crass, vulgar humour, as long as it's done well, and ED isn't done well (it even reads like it was written by a 13 year old).

As you've suggested, maybe I'm not looking at ED in the right way. However, my opinion is based on the articles I have read so far, and from those I find the humour lacking on many levels.
ED relies on ridiculing people to pass along information. There is no satire there, just the kind of humour I'd expect in a playground. You're Otakukin article is a prime example.
I had a look at the article, and you're right about it being informative to a point. However, I'm curious as to why they felt the need to spoil the article by publishing photos of indiduals who may (or may not), fit the description of Otakukin, and openly ridiculing those individuals as well. This is my point about the humour being solely based on the fact that you're glad it's not you they're taking the piss out of.
Did those people agree to their photo's being used for that article I wonder? And did they give their permission for links to their sites to be added to that article?
The article itself didn't need any of that crass attempt at humour adding to it, as it would have been better without it. I actually felt sorry for those people, not becuase of their hobbies, but because some people find it amusing to laugh at the expense of others.
I'm sorry if I'm picky about my humour, but I feel that laughter shouldn't be at the expense of someone who already feels out of place with society. You're more than welcome to laugh all you want at the stuff in ED. Everyone has different tastes after all, and just so you know, I do like crass and vulgar humour, but only as long as it's done well (e.g. Family Guy, American Dad, Simpsons, Futurama, Gintama, etc).
