Updated 11/26/2021: Hey guys. I felt like updating this because I finally remembered why I made this account in the first place!!! Right now, I'm almost 30, and I've been on the interwebs watching series since I was 14-15. I was originally on another website as a kid discussing tv shows and anime with others. Most of them ended up moving to this website. I didn't until I was in my 20's and remembered it. I LOVED reading the reviews. I read so much of them that I ended up joining to do the same. I LOVE how basic this website is. I LOVE how people my age are still on it cause I know most of them were little dweebs like me doing this since they were young and anime wasn't seen as cool as it is now :).
I don't have the mental capacity to over analyze everything I watch now, let alone have the time to watch new series. I do read a lot of shojo manga, but I would NOT recommend them cause they're trash;I read them to kill my brain cells and to get the nostalgic factor. EXCEPT for: 7 Seeds!! I think everyone should read that manga because it's FANTASTIC (heard the anime sucks so don't bother with it). It's a shojo manga BUT it's beyond that label. Character development is my favorite part. It has bit of everything. Action. Drama. Adventure. Sci-fi. Dystopian future.

as of current, i really love human stories. connection, sadness, perseverance, awkwardness. You know, all that jazz... something that makes me think and yet relate. I also like stories that break away from cliches heehee. ....and sometimes i like dumb crap
it's hard for me to place favorites and rate series. so ignore mine. even if I like a show, I have a tendency of acknowledging and pinpointing all its flaws.

Everyone has different opinions regarding this manga, especially after the rape was introduced! To be honest, that completely slipped my mind, since it'd been quite a while since I read it.
At the time, it just didn't bother me so much that I couldn't continue the story. I believe he does try to make amends for what he'd done by the end, but I can't really remember if he follows through or if it's brushed off at the end.
If it did grind your gears that much, and the characters became too generic for you to handle, you probably wouldn't gain anything from finishing it. ^^
But I'm sorry you got disappointed with it! Your thoughts actually remind me of an old blog post about this issue, which until I read, didn't realize it WAS such an issue. The link is below, it pretty much sums up this issue and it ended up ruining the manga for this blogger also. :(

And yes, I remember you :).
Glass Mask's man is a gentlemen who seems young for his age, and the main girl does grow/age quite a bit through the course of the manga. It's almost kinda like... Tsuruga Ren and Kyoko. But a bit more of an age gap. :)
Trust me, it won't even bother you after a while if it does at first.
I will postpone my life to finish stuff sometimes XD
I believe Skip Beat took a lot of cues from Glass Mask, and references it a lot. That's probably why I discovered GM, through Skip Beat! And...well, because of the age gap it's not thrown in your face and the man is...pretty darn hesitant to let on he has feelings for her...BUT HE DOES <3
And it's surprisingly not too creepy. Due to a lot of factors, they just seem like they're made for eachother.
Well, that's up to you to decide, if you read it! I love it though~☆
Yeah I noticed the older I get the more tired I am and the less time I can devote to anime... (yet I can currently keep up with 14 seasonal series lol?)
Glass Mask is... hmm. It just kind of draws you in. I've noticed that anime/manga about acting tend to be really my taste. I can only compare it to Skip Beat, if you've read that.
The main character doesn't realize she has a talent for acting and a lot of pressure is put on her, but she goes to the extremes to make things happen. And there's an older man that supports her and...is kind of an on/off love interest? A daddy long legs, huehue.
It just explores different plays and turns turns acting into... almost a kind of superpower? Maybe that's not the best way to word it... I cannot think of another way to say it, though! >_< I'm not the best at putting my personal analysis of things into words, sorry.
And it's probably a good thing you don't keep up with current anime... finding good ones is like searching for a needle in a haystack!
PSME...it has been awhile since I've read it, and while it has its problems and drastically evolves it's art style by the end, I absolutely loved it. It has the same feel as 7Seeds, but instead of being survival-oriented, its like... its otherworldly... I can't explain much since I'm afraid I'd spoil something.
The cast is varied, and it has a Glass Mask feel to it.
I'm probably over hyping Made in Abyss, but it made for an enjoyable watch. It's also a nice step back from current other ideas anime, a pure fantasy/adventure instead of comedy tropes we see in shows like Rezero or Konosuba.

You also seem to have good tastes, and we share a lot of anime.
I see you're planning to read Please Save My Earth and watch Made in Abyss too.~
Hope you love 'em! <3
