According to Monthly Comic Beam April issue, Shimura Takako's manga Hourou Musuko was announced to get an anime adaptation. The volume 10 of the manga will be released on March 25th.

Kinda wanna comment that the production is kinda 'budget' as seen on the main cast. But it's a good start for new comers.

I never thought that this would get an anime. Not because I think it isn't good enough, (look at my username for chrissakes) but because it just didn't seem like something that a company would look at and decide "That one right there let's make an anime on that one!". They better get it right though or I will be ROYALLY pissed.

Anyone know when it's supposed to come out?

Kay, i've read it now, and jesus christ it's one of the cutest tings i've ever read. And fascinating too. I don't really know how it's going to work as an anime, but i'm sure whoever does it will do a great job.

Just discovered this manga like a week ago! XD And it's so great! Hope they do a good a job as they did with Aoi Hana, only with a more satisfying ending... XD

This is AWESOME news!!! I had been hoping for this ever since I started reading the manga, but seriously didn't think this would ever happen… I was already surprised enough when the Aoi Hana anime was announced, and always thought the issues addressed in Hourou Musuko were too sensitive for it to get a TV adaptation.
Here's hoping it will be adapted with the same flair and sensibility that graced the Aoi Hana anime… I can't express just how excited I am about this. Best news I've read all month! :)

Very good news, it's clearly my favourite of Shimura's work. And while I'm slightly doubtful on how well an adaption would work, Aoi Hana did, and that had a lot less charm than Houro Musuko.
