The official Twitter of Nana Nanato's VTuber Nanda ga Haishin Kiri Wasuretara Densetsu ni Natteta (VTuber Legend: How I Went Viral after Forgetting to Turn Off My Stream) light novel announced a television anime adaptation on Thursday.

Nana began posting the comedy novel on the Hameln and Kakuyomu website in the June and August of 2020, respectively. Kadokawa began publishing the light novel under its Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint, featuring illustrations by Siokazunoko, and shipped the sixth volume on January 20.

J-Novel Club licensed the light novel in English for digital release in March 2022. The second volume went on sale in October 2022, while the third volume is set to release on January 23.

Synopsis
Twenty-year-old former wage slave Yuki Tanaka now works among her idols: the streamers of Live-On, one of Japan's top VTuber companies. As the gorgeous, polite Awayuki Kokorone, she delivers only the most ladylike content. Unfortunately, her subscriber count and savings are at rock bottom.

One evening, after Yuki thinks she's ended her stream, she cracks a few cold ones—and more than a few crude jokes—while watching Live-On's video archives. But her viewers hear it all, and clips of her bawdy, drunken commentary go viral overnight. Yuki thinks her career is over...until her manager reveals that everyone at Live-On has been waiting for her to snap all along and gives her free rein to drink on-stream.

Now free of all feigned purity, she jumps right into her new "rowdy drunk" character and is welcomed into the fold by her fellow Live-On VTubers, who turn out to be just as crazy as she is! With her views and finances skyrocketing, Yuki's work—for the first time in her life—is actually fun! (Source: J-Novel Club)

Lol of course we're getting a Vtuber anime. Next up, a Vtuber isekai (someone will make that work somehow).

Dunno why serialization ignores it. Maybe it is not major point of series or maybe serialization isn't at yuri part yet. Or maybe they have removed yuri altogether from LN? Dunno.
I didn't really see anything yuri-ish in the illustrations and descriptions. But I don't know the context and one of the volumes mentions the work of two characters as a couple/pair (machine translation), so maybe it's just a subplot with some two of the characters or a side romance with an MC. This makes sense if the fan translation was based on webnovel and not LN. Might be worth waiting for the first trailers.

i don't watch vtubers, but the work vs. home personality clashes might be fun to see

In fact, NovelUpdates is the only place that defines it as romance. I looked at the official website, online shopping pages and the Japanese Wikipedia page, nowhere is it described as romance or even lilies. Many of the covers and illustrations I found also have nothing even yuri bait-ish. That's why I asked this in a separate thread, because given my past experience with the all-female LN and manga series, people just mindlessly put this tag without much meaning (I still remember people putting the shoujo ai tag on literally EVERY CGDCT manga on mangaupdates).

Well, I just checked the source webnovel and it has GL ( ガールズラブ ) tag:

It's at least something. One question then, why is the official GL web novel serialization promotion ignoring this? Yes, there were cases when the serialized LN made yuri thinner than the original version, but if the author put this tag, it was clearly not a side subgenre that could be reduced when officially sold.

Not really into vtubers but considering that there aren't many anime about them this seems like a nice change of pace.

Have you read this? Is it really yuri or is NovelUpdates getting the same shit as mangaupdates with trying to put yuri tag on any CGDCT manga?
I have not read this or knew it even existed until today.

Even the Japanese Communist Party has one lol. Another conversation is how this show will look directly. Judging by the page, this is a typical all-female work show. It just surprises me once again that NovelUpdates is again calling it romance and yuri, when any other source only promotes it as moe SoL.
