Watched 1st trailer and the animation have CG like crappy Berserk movies but not too much like Berserk. 3D CGI and Studio Pierrot epic fail.

The manga so far is awesome and is apparently very huge in Japan and Eastern countries. The art is pretty horrible though, hopefully the anime will improve on that.

And yes, this is seinen, not "shonen garbage," meaning its gonna be more dark and have more mature and philosophical themes. Some people; however, prefer the "shonen garbage," like Bleach and Fairy Tail. Naruto have fairly heavy seinen elements. I like Fairy Tail and used to like Bleach, they're senseless and stupid but they're fun. They also don't cause you to think about deeply about the plot, character motives, and the more complicated stuffs; this is a good thing for some but a bad thing for others.

Some people only watch harem, fanservice, humongous or all female cast, and things of that nature. I'm not gonna comment on them since I have no idea what goes through their heads.

Oh, and thank god its not based on Romance yet again. China is more than just Romance, that period doesn't even make up 1% of Chinese history and is hardly an important event. Much of the stuff in the book is entirely fictional anyways.

Judging a show by the production studio instead of staff

MAL, home of animu professionals

We all know how rapidly MAL users like to jump to conclusions:

1 - Dropping the series before even watching it
2 - Bashing a series because "everybody else" are bashing it
3 - Bashing a studio because "everybody else" are bashing it

What is not realized about any adaptation are:

1 - actual staff on the project matters most, not really the studio
2 - the original material, whether it's more suitable for particular type of adaptation
3 - the story itself

...and the list goes on.

I like Studio Pierrot. That should be enough to get me into this, but...

Meh. Historical animes never really were my thing. If it goes well, and everyone else really likes it, I might think about it but... -.-V

I'll definitely have to keep an eye on this one, no matter who's making it.
