Football Manga 'Area no Kishi' To Be Animated

According to Weekly Shonen Magazine, Igano Hiroaki and Tsukiyama Kaya's manga "Area no Kishi" was announced to get an anime adaptation.

Best news i've heard for ages. This is my favourite manga, and i was thrilled in learning it will get its own anime. Why can't it be January now, oh well. Merry Christmas everyone. BEST PRESENT EVER!!! :S ~ end fan girl rant. Anyoe thinking of watching this, i suggest you do so. This manga isn't just about soccer, it has so much more to offer, and if the anime holds true to the manga most will surely need a few tissues at some point in this show. :)

What are you talking about? Aera no Kishi has over 200 chapters out. Even if it's pacing is glacial, which I doubt, that's more than enough for a season.

What are you talking about? Aera no Kishi has over 200 chapters out. Even if it's pacing is glacial, which I doubt, that's more than enough for a season.

Some interesting football mangas out there, this one has a good back story to it as well, hopefully they can bring it out well enough =P

Wouldn't mind a fantasista anime :P

Sounds like it could be as good as Giant Killing.

Though instead of a new football anime I'd rather they make another season of Giant Killing. But this seems to have potential too.

Well it's definitely more realistic than both captain tsubasa and izuma eleven but don't expect it to be too realistic since it's a manga. If I had to describe it it'll be school kids displaying moves even zidane or ronaldinho would be proud of yet not as flashy as tsubasa.

Why always whine and bash american about calling Football "Soccer"? For your information, Japanese call it "Soccer" too but strangely I never read anywhere "Stop calling it "soccer" you japanese dumb!". Same thing goes for Australian and South African.

And even Italian do not call it Football (Piede Pallonne) nor Soccer but "Calcio". Is it that bad? Come on, cut the crap, football or soccer (which basicaly is a contraction of "Football Association" which is the original real name of football) is the same thing and you can call it like you want.
