Asako said: Navarr said: The thing is, that her official name is actually "Holo." As long as you don't pronounce it with an English L, but with a Japanese "[r/l]o" you get a good sounding name. I know it is officially Holo, but since when do people care about official spellings with R/Ls? Use whichever is best, which in this case is R. I do it by which one sounds like the name so Horo would be the right choice. Why do they tease the audience that much? Thats so cruel! Or was I the only one who stopped breathing when Lawrence and Horo were about to kiss two times in one of the dream sequences. Seriously my heart was about to skip a beat. I was screaming "Give her a proper kiss you idiot", but apparently all they did was rubbing their noses. *sigh* Special Sickness --> Pregnancy? 0_0 ok first addressing the fact you thought they were going to kiss rubbing noses is very intimate for most canines 2nd ... I dont know if hes slow or just stupid altogether FTGT said: If I remember correctly, someone wanted this GIf: Furthermore I have some questions regarding the different Translations of the OVA (BSS and Kurou). Maybe some of the people who understand japanese can help me with this: 1) At the beginning, what kind of sheep-story does Lawrence tell Nora? Has it to do with torture or with some kind of merchant business artifice that failes? 2) Which of these translations is correct? 3) Is Horo really somehow "confessing" to Lawrence or does the second translation (Kurou) come closer to the truth? I've watched BSS for a while and yeah I dont think they made any mistakes first based on my basic knowledge of the language second by the fact that theirs to fit what horo would say more. 3rd this is kurous first time subbing I dont care what they translate names to because in america when you look for spice and wolf your going to have to look for wolf and spice. Not to mention there was a novel and her name would be translated to Horo and I dont think that could be that different... also I dont believe in translating names OMG GUYS: http://myanimelist.net/character/7373/Holo the very top says Holo "Horo, The Wise" sry for the long post didnt wanna double post |

I got the confirmation from other sources as well. ^^ @Alas86 If you follow this link you will find the wallpaper-section of the official S&W website: http://www.spicy-wolf.com/special/wallpaper.html If you scroll down, you will find at the bottom the "Christmas" wallpaper. The text on it says "Merry X'mas - From Holo and Lawrence". |

Good episode. I was worried about the art and music being different, but I'm glad that the music is still the same, the art has somewhat changed but it's still good ^^ |

The only thing I didn't like about it was that Horo felt out of character sometimes but, then again, I haven't read the light novels, I am just going off the first season and the fact that she is thousands of years old. Other than that, enjoyable episode. I don't care that nothing gets done because, well, I see this series as an entirely character interaction base so actually accomplishments only really work as sign posts for far the series has come. The second season looks really promising! |

Nice to see Lawrence and Horo again; their blushes were really cute. Having the same BGM is a plus. The art might've taken a turn downwards, but I'm sure that the S2 will be better. Since this OVA has left me with a smile in the end, I'd say that all is well. Looking forward to tremendous amount of dialogue. BSS, I'm patiently waiting for you. PATIENTLY. |

Maybe it's because I've read the novel but it didn't really live up to my expectations. The interactions between lawrence and horo weren't as good as i had hoped but hopefully it's really just me having my expectations too high. Still i certainly enjoyed it. |

Animation was really lacking but it was nice to see Horo and Lawrence again even if it felt like there was a lot of forced moeness. |

Cute OVA :D I agree that the animation wasn't as good as the first season, but it was close enough and doesn't bother me that much. Horo was so cute o///o I didn't notice the "annoying" BGM when I first watched it, but after I read the comments I rewatched the beginning and indeed it was a little annoying. ^^; But still they kept it in the same style as S1, so I'm happy~ Can't wait for S2! |

Was that in the last episode of the first season? I'll have to rewatch that because I don't remember her knowing about Horo's true form. Lawrence explained it to her in.. I think it was the second-to-last episode of the first season. Plus, while innocent, she seems to be fairly intelligent, and all the clues they've left would have been put together well enough for her not to be suprised if she hadn't known. One thing I'd disagree with most of you on, is how much affection has increased. When I watched the first, I could see it at least in the second half (once Nora entered) and when I rewatched it, it was almost from the beginning. If anything, I'd say that there was less affection shown in the OAV between them than what was shown in the first season. I really liked this episode. I don't know if it's possible, but Nora seemed to bring out even more of the wolf/human relationship, and I wonder if she's going to continue to travel with them. Have to laugh at how clueless Lawrence is about why Horo doesn't like Nora. 'I know you don't like sheppards' *knocks him over the head* I guess he's never seen a woman acting jelous before. |

Kinda late but i've been trying too get the OVA for a while, but can't find it anywhere. Anyone have a tip for me. I read this: An OVA of Spice and Wolf II was announced to be released on April 30th before the airing of the second season. It's called episode 0 and will be bundled with Dengeki Visual Novel "Spice and Wolf: Ohkami to Kin no Mugiho". The episode 0 will not be aired on TV, but can't find it anywhere, not even in stores |

Very cute OVA. Showed a bit more of Horo's romantic side for Lawrence which is good to see. Horo is as adorable as ever. |

Great return for a great series!!! Luckily everything that was enjoyable about the first season is still intact so now if only subs for S2 would be released quicker. |

Hmm.... its very strange when they keep this much similar, but change some fundamentals of the series... I think BB is doing a pretty good job of producing the anime, but it seems a lot more comical and moe than before, which I'm a bit disappointed in. Comical moe is so mainstream that it becomes hard to differentiate between all those animes, but I'm sure that Spice and Wolf II can stay out of that realm. It worries me that it's moving in that direction though, but moe is fine with me :D That said, the similarities are well appreciated on this side of the interwebs. The music and animation are pretty much exactly the same which is good, and of course the seiyuus. I hate it when a series gets new voice actors in the sequel, bugs the crap out of me. Overall, still very good, but probably won't measure up to the first season. |

I clearly need to learn a lesson from Lawrence in terms of how to deal with women. When they're hung over, I need to describe food in terms that makes them hungry. That is clearly how to deal with women. |
http://myanimelist.net/clubs.php?cid=12350 Give Toyama Koichi one spiteful, malicious vote! As a half-baked, comedic kind of authority, I don't mind lending a hand in this situation. (Bakemonogatari, Ep. 8) I'm going to go and ignore most of what you've said... - Mawootad |

I liked this Ova more than the first season ; D Horo was very cute it was good that invested more time in the relationship between Horo and Lawrence. Lawrence voice is great. the dream sequence was sad I hope that this will not happen in the end of season 2 but I loved the ending scene with the three were laughing. 9/10 |

Although we can't tell if humans and wolves can actually reproduce together. Although there were only 3 characters, this OVA made me smile, and laugh. :D |

I have mixed feelings for this OVA. There were some parts that I really liked but during other, I just wanted it to end. I wish they could have "expanded" that scene where Lawrance dies. I though that that was the best part of it all. |

Highly enjoyed the OVA. Great advert for the Second Season, which I'll finally be watching on hulu (can't wait for funimation). I didn't think anything was out of character on Horo's (or Lawrence) part. They both care for / like each other but don't outright say or act upon it. I think this was evident in many scenes in S1 and I assume we'll be seeing more of the romance aspect and complications of it in S2. Fingers crossed it doesn't end like her dream and hoping for S3. I know it was written that the novels end in February, so I may have to start delving into them to see the final conclusion. Great show. |
