5k underestimate for Steins. Impressive. Also I feel Kanade Momoko will have a great career in the coming years. 1K sales for a newcomer is no joke. Aniplex/Sony should promote Marina more and not just Lunaluna. Can't just rely on Monogatari alone. |

^Tough luck. It might go 35k for the next few weeks but that doesn't change the fact that its overestimated on the first week. It is not impressive for Steins then. Damn at least it went beyond the amazon limited version. I wonder if it will be the same for the Arepggio amazon limited version. |

Blu-ray 6. *1,030 *1,030 Sekai de Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai! Vol.1 That's rather disappointing, one of the best shows of Autumn in my opinion. Wasn't expecting it do well though. Oh and this kinda seems like the right thread to ask (if not, sorry) so does anyone know when the Super Seisyun Brothers Blu Rays are due for release? Searching the sites I usually import from I only see a OST so far. |

Actually, Oricon Stalker can't predict first week because almost BD/DVD sell at Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Steins;Gate: Fuka Ryouiki no Déjà vu sell Friday 13 Dec 2013 so It's only 2 days before recorded. |

Yeah, it's a really good wrestling show and since the halfway mark, it has really picked up the pace and progression. One of the best shows this season with all the dramatics and action of the squared circle. But a lot of people will come into the series with negative preconceptions of both puroresu and ecchi, so a lot of people are going to be missing out on the fun. Considering the budget, I feel like they did plan for that, so selling 1k is probably a good thing. I'm glad I purchased the first BD volume, because it deserves my money. |

I think for disc sales the series composition director could have paced it differently to get non-manga readers more interested in the first few episodes. I think they probably lost a lot of people with what happens early and either more flash forwards or just faster pacing of the early stuff might have improved viewership and hence sales because I agree, it is a lot better in the second half. As a manga reader, the most recent chapters are fresher in my mind so I'd mostly forgotten about how long it took to get started.EighteenSky said: Blu-ray 6. *1,030 *1,030 Sekai de Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai! The main story will be covered in the anime so it does make me wonder. Mangirl! ended right after the anime came out and it is possible this will happen to SekaTsuyo as well. The manga is currently doing a side story instead of the main story, we'll see if it returns to the main story after this or not. I definitely agree that the slower pace early on turned a lot of people off from the series, but like the manga, it is fairly comparable to actual puroresu and wrestling tropes in general. Wrestling personas need that character development for the audience to have a reason to cheer or boo them, so they do a really good job hammering in the audience's connection with Sakura. But that slow burn character development can take its toll on people who are not used to pro wrestling storytelling, so it is understandable why so many people dropped and dismissed the show after only a few episodes. So yeah, if they focused a ton more on the action, drama and suspense, they would probably have sold more discs, but at the same time, it would create a misconception that the manga is similar, without all the wrestling tropes that the puroresu audience would be used to, which might not help people get into the manga (wrestling itself is already a hard sell) or hurt the core audience if the series is changed into something like full-on ecchi without respect to puroresu. So while sales are not good in comparison to other series, I think it is reasonable for their presented budget and I'm glad the show is sticking to what the author and manga does best, rather than trying to be something it's not. |

MiloticBear said: I agree and applaud them for taking the artistic approach and doing it properly though I am a bit worried what this means for the series in both media as their good sellers have continued to make more of both while Mangirl! was cut rather abruptly without even a final tankobon volume to put the last chapters into a book! Which was weird in itself.... Seems like they'd intended to sim-end Pupa both manga and anime but then the anime broadcast was delayed a season. So while SekaTsuyo manga has a lot it could still do, Earth Star Could also pile driver it into early retirement at any moment... |

Shingeki & Gintama on top! My favorite franchises! Shingeki 6 vs Gintama Movie, wonder which will come out on top. I'll give the edges to Gintama, but who knows, since Shingeki 6 has 3 VNs packed , 2 of them about Levi :P. Shingeki 5 still charting! Hope vol 6 boosts up vol 5 numbers by a little bit. Speaking of Shingeki volumes, would each individual volume fare better if each is packed with 1 VN, instead of cramming it all into vol 6? Off-topic: I've been reading forum posts and blogs a lot. I heard that Gintama has more female readers than male? Is this true? Would that make it a more female oriented franchise? I just want to know, I'm not ashamed of reading it. If I were, I wouldn't have read Orange, NaNa and Chihayafuru :P. |
