| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I just saw the first episode at the world premiere in Singapore's Anime Festival Asia. It was shown without the OP and ED animations. I went into the screening without any expectation as I've not read the original work. Noragami has a good mix between humor and seriousness. There's also a nice piano theme that synchronizes well with the calming atmosphere of some scenes. Visuals were above average, and I would say it's typical Bones quality. Monster animation was actually uniquely done in my opinion. They stand out against background art which emphasizes that they are not of the world. The overarching plot was not introduced in this episode, but it gives a glimpse of what we can expect from future episodes: action with great animation. |

| It aired during a world premiere. Episode 1 was previewed at a screening at Anime Festival Asia in Singapore on November 10, 2013. Regular broadcasting begins January 5, 2014. |

| Both OP and ED are nice. lol~ he actually only wants 5 yen and not huge amount like 50000 or 500000! There were fun and cool actions, there. |

| Started liking the OST for this series right at the beginning of the episode lol. Great OP, and ED too. Liking Yato as a character so far. Pretty hilarious, and that little fight in the beginning was nice. Can’t wait to see him go all badass. Lol at how he completely ruined the slow motion first meeting with Hiyori. He got lucky she saved him though. Too bad she got hit instead and now.. well yeah. That kick on the frog! Kind of silly, but it worked haha. Thought this episode was pretty good. Can't wait for next week. Go BONES! |

| They didn't adapt the first chapter very much, but that's fine, it was more like a one-shot than anything. It'd have been nice if they had adapted it but I'm not complaining too much. Plus they at least introduced the concept of the Shinki and that was really the only important thing in that chapter. The rest of the episode was smooth, and I have to say I really, really like the OP. And the ED. |
| Eh this actually kinda so-so for me. The comedy kinda hit me on the mixed line there but the OP/ED songs were nice I guess. I was expecting a bit more though... Whatever, I'll stay around to see how this goes. Hope it will stay faithful to the manga. Dat tail. |

| This was a pretty fun first episode, I like the OP/ED and Yato is a pretty fun character, also dat kick from Hiyori, I wasn't expecting that. I was also getting Soul Eater vibes with the people changing into weapons, I'll stick around with this show to see how interesting it turns out. |

| Not bad. Really fun protagonist. Kind of reminds me of Bleach and Higashi no Eden. Great, fluid animation. |

| Decent first episode. The animation was pretty good and Iwasaki nailed the OST again. MC seems interesting and I'm not entirely sure about the story yet, but it's still early days. |

| Loved it quite a lot. Dat OST!!! <3 And both OP & ED are good too ^^ The action seems pretty awesomely animated...Sasuga Bones :D Yato is a fun cool protagonist. Loving him already. Kamiya is doing a good job for him. And Hiyori is a likable heroine so far. And pretty cute too. Dat Savete XDXDXD Loving these 2s interactions together. Nice stuff so far. Looking forward for more. |

| Plot is intriguing enough, humor is worthwhile, animation and OST/OP/ED are great. This has definite potential. I love that Hiyori is a closet martial arts fan, that's quite a unique character trait. |

| A promising start, the 2 MC's were likable to watch, the ost when they are fighting the Phantoms were amusing, and the fluid of Bones animation was enjoyable to watch. Though the story is a set up so I hope later episode will get things interesting, but I'm also curious on why is the girl is isolated in the beginning of the episode. This is going to be an enjoyable anime. Also very funny when Yato and Iki are like a comedy duo fighting for their lives XD. |

| Pretty great show so far, i'm enjoying the comedy, the characters, and the supernatural world there in. Definitely going to keep watching every week for a new episode. |

| Looks promising. Seriously, reminded me so much of Bakemonogatari, with Yato having the voice of Araragi... and battling aberrants/youkai like that. Will watch for more. I can tell the other guy is a sacred treasure of Yato, but I still have no idea what Hiyori's role will be on the story. |
