A manga making its way back into the chart 4 weeks after its publication! It first appeared in "Japan's Weekly Manga and Light Novel Rankings for Sep 09 - 14" thread. Then it went out of stock in many places and apparently the sales after the reprint and restock is even stronger than its 1st week. Truly amazing.... !!!!
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?
I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?
I wonder how long people would put up with this.
As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.
Happy to see Chihayafuru 22 still charting, season 3 winter 2015 maybe? Please!
*8, 13,022 *16,231 Kokoro Connect Precious Time
...
13, *8,294 *12,211 Ore no Nounai Sentakushi ga, Gakuen Love Comedy wo Zenryoku de Jama Shiteiru Vol.6
Very happy to see Kokoro Connect Precious Time charting! Only sad that novels 5-11 will probably never be animated :(. The last volume is wonderful, so glad he did one more but it seems this is indeed the last :'(
And glad that the anime start has given NouCome a bump. Volume 4 seems to have charted when the anime was green-lit in March while 5 was forgotten by many, including me (I ordered it late). Volume 6 is funny again! And as always it ends with, "1. to be continued (Japanese) 2. to be continued (English)" so it seems there will be volume 7!
I was worried when neither of them charted the week before but I guess they had just been out for a day or two so most of the sales were this week. Would be a miracle to rank for another week? Hope so but we'll see...
Yay for KnK, Ansatsu Kyoushitsu, and Haikyuu!! A lot of Snk stuff up there as well, cool. I'm hoping Haikyuu! will be adapted well. I've started reading the manga recently.
Not usual to see anime magazines ranked in the book chart. Female anime fans' buying power again !!

Index NT is consistent in its sales. Looking at the 2 previous volumes, NT6 sold 153,836 for 4 weeks and NT7 sold 159,194 for 4 weeks as well.
And if you look every week at the other titles that are selling, reaching 100k+ is an impressive thing already so you can't say it "only sold this much". It's one of the few titles to ever sell that many copies per volume so consistently.

In addition to what belatkuro said, books just don't work like that. Unlike anime where for the most part people have already watched what they are buying, and thus a particularly good part of the series can (although rarely does) lead to a notable sales increase, most people buy a book before reading it, and as such have no way of knowing in advance whether the volume is a good one or not. Critical acclaim of individual volumes has pretty much no impact on people who have already started reading a series with a continuous storyline, as well.
If anything, the sales of volume 8 will be dependent on the quality of volume 7, not volume 8. And volume 9 on volume 8 etc. After all, a high quality volume will lead to people wanting more, whereas a low quality volume will dampen their desire for the next one, however good said following volume may happen to be.

There is no such thing as shit taste. Only idiots who think everyone should have the same taste as they do.
Is this the first OVERLAP Bunko title to rank weekly aside from Infinite Stratos ?
Actually this LN is not published by Overlap but HJ Bunko (HJ = Hobby Japan). As far as I know, Overlap Bunko, a relatively new publisher, has not yet had any title ranked in the Oricon weekly bunko chart besides Infinite Stratos.

^^ I had hoped that Pan Tachibana's new title on Overlap would rank. Came out the same day as the last volume of Dakara Boku Ha, H Ga Dekinai but... no such luck. They were pleased with my twitpic of the two volumes side by side but I guess not that many fans made the leap from one series and publisher to the other which is too bad as the new one seems quite good. I hope it sold well enough for it to continue!

Remember that SnK finished on the weekend before the week listed here. And I would guess that some TV stations probably aired it later than that date? Next week's listings will be the teller as to how much the sales are holding up, particularly for the earlier volumes (later ones may maintain some onward momentum of people buying as they go for a few weeks).

new list already out, SnK has a significant drop but all his volumes still on the chart
I thought it would last a bit longer with some volumes with like 30k sales though, it seems the hype is slowly but visibly going down not really surprising with all the sales it had 'til now but still...it's faster than I thought it would be
on the other hand KnB still on top this week
man I missed the title topping everything else lol xD

I think it's just about right. The boost lasted throughout whole Spring and Summer when anime aired but now that it's no longer the case, sales start to fall and unless there's some announcement or SnK-related event, they won't go up.
However it's fascinating how volume 11 manages to stay in the list despite having serious stock issues. Next week it might fall out of ranking or sell 50k, no way to predict that.
