I completely forgot to reply to this; sorry about that. I have naturally found myself being drawn to manga and anime by female writers, even when I am unaware of the gender of the person behind whatever it is that I'm watching/reading. Most of my favourite shounen titles are written by women and, of course, the josei/shoujo manga I enjoy are also by women. However, it isn't like I'm trying to say that all female writers write a wonderful array of female characters because that simply isn't true. You only have to look at the casual internalised misogyny that exists within the realms of shoujo :shudders:

Ditto on the preference for casts that are male heavy (sans reverse-harem though because it sucks).

The character development is wonderful; I recommend reading it over watching it so you can get a full taste of how it progresses. Sure, I'll check it out and get back to you once I'm finished with it.

yeah haha there were a few......gaping plot holes but i was pretty happy overall xD there are a grand total of ZERO good ff anime unless you count brotherhood as...alright. FF the games are great tho definitely try them out they're worth it xD HAHA i havent gotten around to watching AA yet maybe i shouldnt watch it at all though xD
aerith555 May 6, 2016 8:27 PM
YOO! still a junior so no college yet xD but how bout you? LOL i actually like erased xD brotherhood is aight pretty slow to release eps tho haha
user5265111 Mar 31, 2016 9:41 PM
oh jeez, Pupa, lmao, yeah, that's not top quality

Zipang is pretty great, a lot of the drama is from the crew deciding whether to back their home country and help them win the war or letting history take its course. it's pretty military focused, though, so not sure if you'd like it

Deen's in a slump? I never really paid attention to them, have they been releasing a bunch of crap shows?

sucks about your cousin. hey, maybe we'll finally have teleporters in our lifetime lmao
user5265111 Mar 30, 2016 7:51 PM
thanks for the warning!

I related to it too well, too. I pretty much lived like her from 13-15 lmao, 16 is when I finally got my crap together. you should give romance a try some time, there's some nice feel-good ones out there that cheer you up a lot. the group of anime fans I used to talk to a lot were mostly girls so they kinda turned me onto it, lmao. I recommend Kimi ni Todoke, it's really good. cool cousin btw

as for good shows the past season.. Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu, Dimension W and Dagashi Kashi is alright too
user5265111 Mar 30, 2016 7:13 PM
lmao yeah, that happens a lot, animes will surprise you sometimes.

thanks for letting me know about JoJo, I'll start the manga where the anime leaves off

yeah, a lot of romance mangas are pretty frustrating in that way, but I try to look for unique ones to keep me interested.
My Fault I'm Not Popular was Secondhand Embarrassment: The Anime, lmao but a lot of people relate to it
user5265111 Mar 30, 2016 6:58 PM
yeah, I'm hoping they just do all of Jojo before doing anything else, but when they do anything else, it's guaranteed to be amazing
thanks, I'll check out the manga. i'm not really a big manga person, I used to just read romance mangas, but I'll give it a try

SNK with trains actually sounds like a pretty funny trainwreck to watch, I'll check it out lmao

Magi has a pretty fun story, so I might check out the spinoff

Re:Zero actually looks like it'll be really fun, but it could go any way
user5265111 Mar 30, 2016 6:14 PM
yeah but I'm kinda happy it's crowded, more shows to watch whenever I get the time lol
yeah, my brother actually got me into Jojo, it took me a while to get into it, but once I did, loved it. and yes, DP handles Jojo awesomely, I hope they get other awesome shows whenever they finish Jojo

Joker Game looks really cool to me because I'm a fan of espionage, and I've never seen it done from a Japanese perspective right before WW2, so that'll be new to me. no idea what to expect from Mayoiga, but it has an interesting summary so I figure why not.

Bungou Stray Dogs actually looks amazing now that I look at it, made by Bones too, thanks for bringing it up. Kiznaiver seems interesting too
user5265111 Mar 30, 2016 5:13 PM
I watch new shows as they air, I'm pretty impatient, lol. sometimes I'll just forget about it for a few weeks, though, and when I go back to watch it again, I have a bunch of episodes to watch at once.

I haven't really kept up with the spring season since I'm getting caught up with old stuff, but at a glance, Joker Game, the new Jojo's Bizarre Adventures, and Mayoiga look good
anything you're looking forward to?
user5265111 Mar 30, 2016 2:38 PM
the plot isn't really anything special, but it's good I think, a lot of twists and the mystery of why everyone's locked in the school. some characters from Fate/stay night show up too, and it has a bigger focus on the true identities of the servants. you learn your own servants' history as you get closer to them, so I'm looking forward to how they'll handle it since they're going to focus on red Saber, which was my favorite.

yeah, Shaft's consistently good, their shows are always fun and interesting to look at and handle dialogue and mysteries really well, so I think they were a good choice for this story.
user5265111 Mar 29, 2016 10:31 PM
yeah, I have Extra on my PSVita, love it, one of my favorite games on it. it plays like a classic JRPG and you can choose among 3 servants, a red Saber, a fox girl Caster or Rin's Archer.

the story's basically where you're locked in a dimension with other masters and servants where you're all living in a school competing for the Grail, with a door to an arena maze where you fight another servant and master each week. it goes in a tournament format, and before the fight, you're given time to learn the opponents weakness and investigate how to beat them, it's really fun

I'm really looking forward to this show, and Shaft's one of my favorite studios

I'm used to long, slow, dialogue heavy shows, so I wasn't burned out as much as most people would be. I really liked the flashbacks in the 7th, and the 2nd was great for showing the events that put the rest of the movies in motion. Yeah, I wouldn't have understood without other Type Moon shows either, luckily I was already a fan of the Fate series.

yeah, it's not a typically popcorn series, I'm a little surprised, but then again I'm not, more cerebral shows like this attract decent followings and Type Moon already had a solid fanbase by then
