THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
No action this time, just serious business.

Here is where my suspension of disbelief gets sorely tested. My problem is with the entire concept of GGP being a world government. I can imagine some quasi-governmental force taking over a given country such as Japan, but the entire planet? Sorry - there are waaaaaaaay too many thermonuclear warheads around for any of the major powers to go along with that.

So if the drama continues along the line of episode 5 my interest will diminish. Oh well, we'll see what happens.

Yeah, this episode didn't have nearly as much action as the previous episodes. Still, it gave us a lot of insight to where this story might be leading. I dunno, I still hope that the action won't end just yet though..

Slow episode is good too. At least they don't consider her a terrorist. Maybe both sides will try to recruit her?

Yes, it was rather slow compared to the previous episodes, but I enjoyed it very much. Now that both terrorists and government are interested to use Rin's amazing skills, what will she choose? Anyway, I guess they won't let her stay aside.

I'm so glad this ep was subbed faster than last week!
No action in this episode but they got around to story development and some of my questions were answered. It's nice to have an episode like this but the next one better have a lot of action again. I wish he wasn't serious about dismantling Fuego. Rin's "terrorist" status was cleared up, now everyone knows she was just a civilian but she's still seen by the gov as a threat for being able to escape the way she did.

Good episode. Not much happened, but this is the RideBack I knew from before episode 4. I hope there will be some good things going on in the future. Not some unbelievable generic plot.

So yeah what we had all predicted, Rin's getting scouted by Both GGP and Anti-GGP... Apart from that obvious fact was a good development episode,

The "ugly nosed" guy seems like he's supposed to be amazing on a rideback as well. I'm really curious to see how well he rides one and if he actually rides as well as or better than Rin.

i think by THEM he meant the GGP. he said that you need more than high tech machine, you need skill and talent too, thus ogata and the nose guy. i think that is what he was alluding too.

This episode made me like RideBack again. I'm glad Rin was scolded and she thought over her actions; after all, it was a pretty goddamn serious situation she put herself and Shouko (and the other hostages of the terrorists) in. Shame it was only at the end of the ep, though.

Maybe they will have him join the terrorists, why Rin joins the GGP (or other way around) for a while.
Doesn't exactly seem too likely, but it would be interesting.

Well, all of the energy that was in the last 4 episodes is completely gone. Now what's left is rather generic. I'm quite sad about this episode. I don't really have anymore to say except that I'm disappointed.

I honestly expect Tenshirou (your "ugly nose guy") to tell off both the GGP & BMA. As for skill, I'd wager he's got the experience on a RideBack, but doubt his skill far exceeds Rin's skill in natural talent.

As for Rin, she's probably gonna pull a "Kira Yamato" and try to avoid both sides as much as possible in an effort to protect her friends.

I like how they reflected on Rin's shocking actions in episode 4, but it just seems their going to pursue a normal series now with a mecha and its pilot having special abilities to destroy the current civil order.

Where else do we see that? Oh wait, Gundam. Get the politics out of Rideback. :(

Politics were already in the heart of this story from the start. Nothing we can do about that.

What we can hope for is that the politics of this series doesn't get so F'ing convoluted as most Gundam based series get, and thus ruining what would otherwise be a great story.

I think we don't have to wait that long to see him in action.

Well, the GGP seems more capable than I expected, they managed to find her and place her under surveillance almost immediately.

Slow but good episode, they needed to calm down after the fury of episode 4 since it's very hard to sustain such intensity through 12 episodes. I don't really like the political aspect but it seems necessary for whatever the story is. Then again, I don't mind 12 episodes like episode 1 and 2, just Rin and some other people riding their RideBacks.

Edit: Oh yeah, did anybody catch that awful English on Rin's information :)

They said Tenshirou (ugly nose guy) helped create the RideBack's for GGP when he was with them. He's the Japanese guy that the GGP commander guy was talking about. He was honorably discharged and appears to hate the GGP for some unknown reason. I wouldn't be surprised if he's forced into joining the "terrorists". Rin on the other hand has no obligation to join either side right now. I'm guessing she will later on though and will most likely oppose the GGP as well. Tamayo on the other hand looks like that one that will be forced into joining the GGP. This would make a great fight/race towards the end with Rin and Tamayo. Neither would kill each other though :P.

A very nice transition episode. I guess we can see where the series is going.

Potentially, this turns out to be the best show that I watched this season. It makes me impatient in waiting for the next episode!

Based on the manga, if they hold the character the same way, he's gonna tell off the BMA.

And if the GGP asks him to re-enlist, I'd expect the same answer.

The reason for the hate may lie in the GGP's methodology shown in the next episode.

Not much happened, but it felt like we got quite a bit of insight into the politics of everything... I'm wondering what Rin's brother is getting involved with though... And Rin was reflecting a little bit... Her take on her actions was interesting - and it was also nice to see that they identified her as a normal citizen, not a terrorist.

Even though I liked the episode and didn't mind all the politics, I still don't like the political side of RideBack, if that makes any sense at all. XD But I guess that's shallow, isn't it? The politics are part of the story... but still! I like the action-packed episodes. :D

Looks like Rin's idiot brother is involved in some shady business. Ugh why do I feel like he'll get caught by the GGP then Rin will be blackmailed into joining them. I hope it doesn't go down that route >__>

I knew they weren't going to know Rin identity easily. Now she's getting scouted by both GGP and Anti-GGP.
