Shingo is freakin' awesome. He adds a bit seriousness in there, while mixing it with comedy.

Hachiken's got pretty famous with that bacon. Well come on, who doesn't like bacon?
His mother might, but I don't know about his father.

Komaba is pretty intense. Especially during his baseball game.
Lol, Hachiken and friends jogged back to campus, but in the end, Hachiken became tired.

I will miss Pork Bowl. (T_T) But at least we have Bacon, Pork Cutlet Bowl, Ham, Char Siu, Pork Soup, Pork Cutlet, and Ginger Pork.

I can't wait for Season 2.
I’m always searching for something, for someone. This feeling has possessed me I think, from that day… That day when the stars came falling.

Definitely a good way to finish off the first season. Nothing fancy, but then this show's never needed or intended to be. It's a simple show with a good message that encourages introspection.

The principal's advice was great and really resonated with me. :)

I'm really looking forward to the second season. Hopefully they'll do something with the romance without letting it overwhelm the show. They also need to make sure they're not just repeating ideas from this season.

Can't wait until season 2!

- Their dad looked scary o_o

- Aki's reaction was hilarious as always

- Very wise speech from Principal

Great and heartwarming "final" episode. Can't wait for next season in January!

After Tamayura this season which told us why being mediocre is not necessarily bad, here Silver Spoon told us why being wimpy is not necessarily bad either. Many people, with western fans particularly vocal about it, dislike wimpy characters, but this rare anime tells us why running away from things can also take on a positive light - the act itself is NOT negative and should not be despised of, it is more how you view yourself and where you are now that matters.

On top of that we also see an exciting baseball match along with a senior from horseriding club talking about his future, where we are told of course it is a good thing to have your dream, it is also fine to adapt yourself, to suit the horse you are to ride so to speak.

And everything is wrapped by the renewed cycle of new bunch of piglets. Hachiken's decision to name every piglet is a bit not expected, but it just goes to show how he decides not to go the easy route, but to grow up while keeps thinking and thus struggling to find conclusion and answer.

Looking forward to season 2 next year!
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

Isayama Hajime should be awarded The Manga with The Highest Inconsistencies of Characters' Appearances.
He keeps performing multiple plastic surgeries on those Shingeki No Kyojin characters in a SINGLE chapter.
Yes, I've read up to the latest chapter of Shingeki No Kyojin manga.
Forced myself to read through the kidsketching chapters after the anime's ended. At least from now on, I only have to go through the hell once a month.
Patiently awaiting SNK TV/movie/OVA anime-sequel.

Damn! This has been so amusing! I really liked how you can actually feel Hachiken developing.

As for Aki, don't tell me she has a thing for him! First she dropped the duster and then she was actually staring the other way when seemingly a girl came to confess to Hachiken, and after she got to know what actually was happening, she dropped her croquette. lol.

Cannot wait for the next season! I was reluctant to watch this but this turned out to be one of the better anime airing this season, probably only second to KamiNomi and definitely the best new anime of the season!

9/10 for this season!

And here we have a show which has next to zero unique aspects as well as a, you can say, mediocre premise.
Being the second work of the Fullmetal Alchemist mangaka doesn't make it any easier to judge, the expectations are big after all.

In the end it didn't matter. What we got was a really good presentation of the world of Gin no Saji combined with mild humour. And the characters: Let's say it's rare to see a cast for which you can have so much sympathy for.
As a (non comedy) Slice of Life-show it stands pretty good on its own, definitely deserves a spot at the top in this genre section.

I gave it a 7/10 (as I said, the story itself is "okay" at most") and made it my seasons favourite.^^ ("Shingekii not included since it's from last season)

Great show. Great season ender.
I wonder if Hachiken got enough from selling bacon to cover his expenses.
Principal-sama has some deep philosophy. Good advice. But how DID he get up there?!
I want the next season to be here already so I can watch more of this show!
Am I the only one who is reminded by Hachiken of Mayama Takumi from Honey & Clover?
Your mean should be an even bell curve only if you watch every show that comes out. Having a high-slung mean doesn't mean you're rating improperly. It can also mean you're selecting shows well to watch mostly things you enjoy.

A teacher who looks like Buddha but gambles lol and a hot lady teacher who drinks, not to mention a super tiny principal and all the other characters too!! Learning facts about the industry I have not heard for many many years, raising and growing healthy natural food as best as possible!! RESPECT!!! PORK BOWL FOREVER KANPAI KANPAI KANPAI!! NOW TO WAIT till Jan 2014 for season 2. And keep growing more food myself!!! *thumbs up*

Great episode!
Very nice ending to it.
One thing that kinda ruined is the other girl again. Dear god I hope they don't start kinda romance-ish on her. Just don't like when this happens. But other than that this a great show, and lol when Yuggo named all the pigs again. "Becon." haha.
This show makes me want to be an farmer and hope I will work there once I go to a vocational school someday.

Not a bad ending, though we really didn't see the full resolve of Hachiken with his parents. ., but at least they got Pork Bowl in last episode.

Great series, one of my favorites this season, probably a 9 out of 10, if not then guaranteed an 8. I can't wait for that second season in Winter!

Episode ending that leaves quite satisfied, while ending the series so I would not have to say, but given that there will be a sequel, so much the better. The beginning was not so exciting, then over time I appreciated episode after episode. Slice of life from the new context for me, I liked it so much. Plot is not very complicated and well crafted narrative. Nice design though sometimes it was a bit thin!
For now, my final rating is 7/10, maybe 8 when gonna see everything with calm!

Pretty okey last episode, don't have much to say than most of it was like the other episodes nothing really special. The anime in general was not really that good in my opinion it lacked a proper pace although it did had some decent development in both story and characters so it's rather sad indeed the pace sucked that hard.

The story for me was a bit weak as I'm not a huge fan of the theme but well it wasn't all too bad 6/10

Well this is my most awaited Anime of Summer 2013 Anime and yeah I was satisfied because I really love it and I can relate to the story because I grew up in an Agricultural place and it's so fun to watch :D

I still haven't watched FMA and FMAB completely I've only watched some of its episodes back when I was a kid but now I'm excited to watch it properly :3

I'm just going to wait for the second season and I'm so excited about it and hopefully there is more romance :3

Thanks to this anime, I felt far more confident that the vegetarianism based on emotional motive is ridiculous.

I don't deny it if it came from religious reason or was just a personal faddiness.
But I really can't bear to hear some people criticizing meat eating because of its "cruelty" or some animal's "intelligence" or "cuteness".
They are just discriminating living things between "valuables" and "something else" besed on their dogmas.

We can't live without eating "other's lives" whether they are animal's, fish's, or plant's.
So what matters is gratitude for the lives which nourished us.

The theme of this anime was quite persuasive to me, as a Japanese.
