Bara no Tame ni Nice romantic tale about the chubby but adorable Yuri. Has a good amount of drama, mystery and comedy. After her grandmother’s death Yuri discovers that her mother is still alive. Moreover, she is a famous actress! She moves in, and meets her three beautiful siblings. The lazy Huyou, the transsexual Aoi and the grumphy Sumire. While she is bossed around as a maid, she falls in love with her brother?! Buddha I’m really baffled that there aren’t more people who have read this amazing work by the master of manga (Osamu Tezuka). I really fell in love with this work, it’s story, it’s art and it’s humour, it’s action, ..., oh my, it just has it all! Edit by Sakura: Your recommendations have been added to the master list. |

If I tell any more it would be a big spoiler.CMB17 said: How about Fire Investigator Nanase a new title from CMX. Ah! Good find! CMX always manages to license all of the more obscure titles . . . I want to recommend H20. I've read it during the past two days and it's really a sweet and very funny romance series. It's been a while since I last laughed out loud this much while reading manga. It's only fault is that it is a bit short. The end seemed a bit rushed, tough it was okay, but there was more in it. Still, it's really worth the read. |

Recommending Hatenkou Yuugi / Dazzle. While the artwork starts sloppy, it gets better on. The characters have enough character to actually be an character and mysteries and plottwists enough to discover in this manga. Also a yaoi manga from my side. Junjou Romantica is a brilliant manga thanks to its funny, hilarious and sometimes sarcastic humor, while the characters are all struggling with their m x m relations. Consists of three different stories, but the characters of one story sometimes make cameos in the ''other'' story. Definitely not one of those ''standard'' brainless yaoi or shounen-ai series. Hot stuff included, but not more than 1/6 of the chapters. |

*sighs* This list really needs to be cleaned up. I'm thinking about having members vote for which series they want to stay or go on this list and maybe we should have separate threads for shounen-ai/yaoi and/or manhwa/manhua? What to do? What to do? |

While I think it's appropriate to break up any age restricted materials (like 18+ yaoi), in terms of general recommendations, I think separating the genre "shounen ai" from everything else sounds discriminating. Unless you're doing the same thing with all genres of course. If someone doesn't like that kind of thing, they should be quickly able to tell from the description or genre tags. Like me and sports manga..lol. I filter my dislikes myself. Age appropriate things should probably be marked, whether yaoi, smut, hentai, etc. Keeping manhwa separate makes more sense, since it's a different (original) language (and OEL could be separate if ever submitted). Hmm.. ideas. Maybe trying to pick the main genre and separate them by that? (might be hard for some) I also noticed many of the same members participate, so give each member a heading themselves containing their recs? Or everyone could have a post containing their recs and they'd edit it to add more things (since not much actual discussion seems to go on in the thread anyway, it can be like a list) Not too sure. Handling large lists is tricky. |

Ok. I re-did the list "Game-Based Manga" style. I guess we can just let the list grow for the remainder of the year and then figure out what to do then. Thanks for your opinion shinkeikaku = ) |

I think it looks better already. And I do like the genre tags, since I did to hit up certain ones or avoid others. |

I'm adding Emma to the 21st Century Manga list though (if it's not on there already). Thanks = ) |

I'd like to add Ilegenes ~ Kokuyou no Kiseki ~, Olimpos, @Full_Moon, and Kyuuso wa Chiizu no Yume wo Miru. These are all great and if not available in English, should be soon (Olimpos). I don't think @Full Moon is currently planned by anyone, but's it's Matoh Sanami.. how long can they ignore it?! |

It's frightening how often my taste overlaps with SiH, even across genres. Thus, I think they have the best picks out there. ;D They do such great work. For scanlation work, I'd definitely want to do it for them. |

Yeah, SiH always seems to pick out series that both have interesting/unique storylines and nice looking art! And it's also nice that a lot more of their projects are getting picked up for English licensing so that other people out there that aren't already familiar with those series can also be able to read it themselves = ) |

First time posting here in the club o/ I'd like to recommend Pluto, in my opinion another masterpiece of Urasawa Naoki. It is a spin-off of one of Tetsuwan Atom's (Astro Boy) arcs, in which the protagonist isn't Atom, but a supporting character in Osamu's work, Gesicht. I really enjoyed reading this. :D |

I'd like to suggest for the manga Arisa be added on the list. It's a shoujo manga tagged under mystery. I'd say that it's an interesting read because the the one behind the plotting have no super powers and mere high school students. Basing on the tags, it also has romance in it but it's not yet shown. As of the moment, there's only an implied romance on the series. But still it's a good read - it's interesting and intriguing at the same time. There is also an element of surprise in it. Unfortunately, it seems that only a few people know about this manga but the ratings is definitely high (based on the user ratings of MAL and Baka Updates). I hope you'll consider adding this manga :) |

Sumire is a 17 year old high school girl who wants nothing more than to make friends with her new classmates. She's so dissappointed that they all seem to hate her, calling her a pervert, a dirty old man, creepy, weirdo... alas, what is a poor lifesized puppet to do in this cruel world. http://myanimelist.net/manga/11942/Sumire_17!! |

Just found it today, but I'd like to recommend Katana. It's a story about an heir to an old family of blacksmiths who can see the spirits of the swords he's sharpening. I've only read the first 4 chapters, but I'm already hooked because it gives off a calm feeling which lets it stand out of most of the sword-centered manga. It certainly won't be wrong to give this little story a bit more attention^^ |

I really recommend this anime/manga called Ghost Hunt: http://myanimelist.net/anime/1571/Ghost_Hunt ; http://myanimelist.net/manga/158/Ghost_Hunt sorry if someone already mentioned it, but it's really good. it's an adaptation from fuyumi ono's novels.i haven't finished the manga yet but I really liked the anime. it's about this optimistic girl, her (rightfully) narcissistic boss and their paranormal cases with the rest of their ghost hunting team. this is one of my favorite stories, i love how it's really organized and mixes in horror, comedy, and romance without being cliché and cheesy. |

Change Ge Xing - This is a very excellent historical manhua (chinese manga). Despite what it seems, it is a seinen series but it give off the same feel as Otoyomegari in terms of it atmosphere and i think it is a great read for everyone of all ages. Don't be put off by the synopsis, it has more depth than it seems on the surface. People who enjoy historical series should definitely give this a thought. http://myanimelist.net/manga/42001/Song_of_the_Long_March |
