| With everyone orgasming over Attack on Titan it's only appropriate for Hunter x Hunter to retort with a great episode in its own right. HxH always seems to respond to popular trends in anime SAO finishes -> Greed Island Begins Attack on Titan starts -> Chimera Ants starts Gon is one crazy fighter willing to sacrifice limbs to keep his pride intact. If he wasn't in Greed Island he would've been screwed. I mean you could really tell how much pain Gon was going through this fight. Because of the special circumstances though you could arguably say he didn't learn his lesson even after his scolding from Tsezgerra :P Cooldown episode next week to get us ready for the depressing arc coming up. Better savor this sense of adventure the series has had for the past couple months now. |

| Another excellent week for Hunter x Hunter. Gon's brashness really surprised me, and I found it funny how Genthuru didn't realize he had been kicked in the chin. Looking forward to the conclusion. |

| After seeing the crazy things Gon would do I wouldn't think much could shock me. But then there was this episode. :P Despite that brutal moment he still kept such a sunny outlook on it all. Maybe that was even crazier than that kick trick he pulled. And at least through it all we see that Genthru did care about his cronies. |

| I'm suprised at myself for being satisfied with the fast pacing. The rapid momentum shifts made the battle entertaining enough for me. Well done MH! What an inappropriate cliffhanger btw P.S. Omake: Perverted Killua = OOC. SMH P.P.S. Gon's arms in the 99 version were more horrible... horribly drawn, that is. Very unnatural for the arms to look like that after exploding. |

| Greed Island is almost over! I am so excited for the next episode!!! Genthru is finally defeated and everyone is healed in the end. Now it's quiz time Funny continuation of Killua's reaction to Gold Dust Girl in Greed Island Tutorial. In my opinion this episode felt a bit rushed. But still pretty good. I don't really care for censorship of the wounds. Who really cares what they look like or whether they are realistic. |

So... whichever disturbs you more? from the manga  I'm pretty sure the OVA was trying to go for that torn effect that the manga has but like the other dude says it looks more like weird fur or something. Other than that it's really the same. Though one thing that did disappoint me just a tad bit in this episode was Genthru's being dizzy. The effect is much crazier in the manga. Same goes with after Sub got hit with the yoyo. I'm hoping in the next arc Madhouse is able to incorporate more of Togashi's art style because it could look really awesome. |

Both versions show 1 severed arm 1 badly damaged arm both arms are burnt Both arms are torn Now could you say that the ova looks a little bit more torn (if not for it being drawn a little bit strangely.) Sure you could. But I could also say the 2011 looks more like his arm has actually been burned. However that's not censorship. That's a difference of style. And yes you DID start this argument. You started by having to say that it was censored and showing something that nobody in their right mind would ever say is censored. You're the one who's in denial if you seriously thought nobody was going to challenge your bogus claim. I sure hope you're done because I don't know how much of your idiotic nonsense I can take. It will be pretty intense and the largest arc shown thus far, consider togashi has finished it in the manga, their is no reason why it should have fillers or cancle half way through. If the studio was smart, they would just finish the chimera ant arc and end the series right their, since the manga is on hiatus. You know instead of pulling a naruto with like another 80-100 episodes of filler. At least i expect that much, I won't plan on them animating the "13th Hunter Chairman Election arc" though that would be bad ass if they went that far. Either way this anime is going to end up with endless filler, or just cancle when it gets closer to the manga. |

| Thought I'd throw my 2 cents on the "censoring" I think people forget this is a SUNDAY MORNING ANIME ON A CHILDRENS TIME SLOT IN JAPAN. Black outs and shining whitelights for censoring are the kinds of stuff production studios have to do for late night anime. It's common knowledge they censor it as to not offend the general populace but also sell more discs which is how late night anime make their money Hunter x Hunter isn't reliant on disc sales but TV advertisement ratings so censoring the way a late night anime would make no sense at all and obtrusive to the overall experience. What audiences see when they buy the Blu Rays for this particular series are pretty much the same as the TV version Now how does this relate to Hunter x Hunter? Because of that, if Madhouse needs to change something from the manga they are going to change how the scene plays out entirely or just not make the scene as bloody/grotesque beforehand while storyboarding which is different than making it bloody/grotesque and censoring it after, the way people "traditionally" think This is my opinion but on this latest episode the black was supposed to be Gon's charred skin from Genthru's Little Flower. You can think otherwise if you'd like but that's more consistent with their previous changes like - Uvogin biting Leech's head not as gory by not showing his brain (Still fucked up) - BoBoBo getting his head completely blown off instead of seeing his brains - Chrollo's Indoor Fish more thorough with its eating so you don't see the guy's brain - Hisoka using Nen to cover his wound in Heaven's arena as opposed to seeing bones and blood when he reaches for his card to perform his card trick (Togashi really likes to see the audience to see brains) |
