I like how they brought back the 1st season opening with the characters being broken out of their chains and stuff.

Another great episode with really strengthens the whole plot and story! I do wonder why there where so much op's and ed's in the middle of the episode though they where all quite nice and divided the parts quite nicely! I do wonder about Yuuko is she now a spirit/angel or some kind or what's her whole deal re-appearing to all the others around there?

Still very nice episode with the first part having her answer all his questions but than tragic that he had an attack than. And especially the ending with the hearth monitor was quite sad :( Especially than directly that very sad ed! but than that lil epilogue made it all better!

Really great bundled together episode and preparation for the final episode!

I don't think you'll be disappointed with the ending. ef-melodies is one of the best animes I've ever seen and it has a strong conclusion to the series.

This felt like a final episode but it's not. I wonder what we'll get to see in the next episode.
Yuuko's ghost (or whatever it is, I'm confused) might meet Yuu and Kuze's heart-failure might just be a cliffhanger because they were "fixing" his heart or something. This was really, really emotional and I wonder if we'll get a happy end.
Also, this was the first time I saw the opening or ending of a previous season in a newer season, usually it's only the song that re-used.

I was very relieved when Kuze convulsions and fell unconscious.

The final seconds of this episode shows that the operation was a success. Why should it be success? I want him to die. If not, the ending will be happy.

Why is this show so beautiful? It's genuine and heartwarming, heartrending, and unorthodox. Spectacular episode. I love that they found a way to mix it up more even now, and I loved the use of the insert songs to deliver a message. The sound direction and art direction was amazing. I even saved screenshots this time!

As much as I hated a lot of the Yuuko story I can't deny that ending credit was beautifully done. Also the OP from season 1 was super random, but I love the song so not complaining.

Kuze-Mizuki relationship still seems really shallow to me.

First season was much better, imo.

First Yuuko, now Kuze, both deaths were expected but... But still ! That's heartbreaking (no pun intended). I actually had some hope he would make it, it was obvious he wouldn't, of course, but I hoped he would. The operation made me so stressed.
And it's not just for Kuze that I'm sad, but also for the other characters, especially Mizuki and Yuu. At least, Mizuki did everything she could to make him leave happy.

And about Yuuko, the reason she is still around is because the person she is waiting for hasn't come back ? I guess this person is Yuu but that's a bit strange since I recall him having talked to her in Memories. Though I watched it a long time ago, so I don't remember well.

i wish there had been more development of kuze and mizuki's relationship, there were like 2 episodes of them falling in love and 8 episodes of drama.

Of all things, the characters from Memories having a mini reunion at Kuze's surgery bed kinda got to me a little. It's just cool how someone who tried throwing everything away got a decent turnout of people hoping the best for him.

It sure is Hedgehog's Dilemma up in here.

It feels like Mizuki's the strongest character in the cast, which includes both tale of memories and melodies. She's experienced horrific childhood trauma and had issues getting close to people, much like many of the other characters. She's certainly tormented by her past via dreams, but she's just way too stubborn in achieving her goal of connecting with Shuuichi. I suppose her way of being so strong is her confidence in her own self-identity. Mizuki knows she wants to be with Shuuichi, and seems fully aware of what that all entails. It's not that she doesn't care about getting hurt, nor is she immune to pain, but she's strong enough to earnestly throw down her feelings in front of Shuuichi while also never giving up, despite Shuuichi lashing back all the time. There's certainly flaws with that methodology, but I suppose it's what works for Mizuki.

Also, I love the tale of memories OP in the middle of the episode. It's been a year since I watched the first season, but I still liked the music and visuals of the OP. I also liked the updates to the OP, showing the couples holding and helping each other where they previously were chained up before disappearing alone. It's a minor change, but in the context of a tale of melodies, it's really cool to see both the closure and after story for the previous cast. Throughout ef, Shaft has been updating the OPs and EDs accordingly, so it makes for a good reason to stick around and observe the differences, as opposed to skipping them all the time for other shows where they're the same throughout.
