Right after the meeting last ep., the two are having conversation. W. no OP.

To have some rose color (fun)?

Report with sister. "Forbidden sentence"?? Not "Hero story"? more info. needed.

Librarian teacher is the writer for first volume of Hyouka? And she was the leader of the club 2nd year?

So his theory was almost perfect, and the leader of the argument was a "sacrifice" (nominated to the argument). Hyouka was "useless dajyare?" "Ice Cream" "I Scream"??

So she cried because of Hyouka's meaning (be strong). Survival the fittest? To die while living is painful.

So it's time to write it.

No ED, either. He's wondering why his sister wanted him to get to lit. club.

Well, it seems that there's no OP song, oh well. And the anthology continues...

Middle intermission quote:
When the sun grows its hottest, or the day seems to reach its longest

It also seems that the word/title of the series Hyouka is a

Quite a difficult mystery, isn't it? and to conclude:

Good episode,Ice Cream

So in the end Oreki theory wasnt that far from reality....just that the reality was even colder(like real life)

First intereting conversation between Oreki and Fukube as Oreki wants to get his life less gray, and this mysteries can be a way.

I must say his sister seems like a big troll i really want to see her XD

So the librarian was the person that right the second volume, and she told them how things really happen....i must say as expected of KyoAni as I loved the animation as she told it.

So the theory was almost correct beyond 3 things:
1.He didnt wanted to be leader was forced too.
2.There was a big accident that caused his suspension
3.And that he didnt sacrifice himself...he was sacrifice....

Also the meaning of Hyoka.....I Scream.....and is really what this world is about,if you are weak you get stumped, used, sacrifice,so you always most be strong no matter what if no....you will just be like a rabbit being feed to the wolfs.

Watching Eru cry was sad T__T
At least she got her remember why she cry an he can put her uncle to rest...

Well in the end good episode this mystery is over...or is it?? I feel there is still way more to it.
Next episode seems interesting....lets wait for it!!

Yup yup, they already announced a new OP and ED, but I'm not sure if they already change it after only 5 episodes... I love the current OP very much!

Hmm wasn't expecting them to finish it so soon guess this was just one of many story arcs?,as for the conclusion i guess it was alright was just hoping for something crazier i guess haha like when his sis told him about the taboo it reminded me of Another how Kouichi's dad would talk about the class and stuff.

no OP or ED :(

....but FUCK, houtarou really is a genius
i couldnt believe how amazingly thought up his theory was from last episode, but to think that he was pretty much dead accurate about everything?

so he even ended up solving the sekitani jun incident, which ended with the ominous pun:
hyouka = ice cream = I scream

cant wait to see some more insane mysteries thrown at the group, i absolutely love seeing houtarou theorize and tear through mysteries

AMAZING series

Awesome episode; likely the best so far, the way Oreki broke down everything was great again he really is a genius, but also in terms of character development i like how he is starting to question his own life; how he is slowly changing through the developments, the mystery itself wasn't that huge, but like i said before on previous episode forums, the fact that the mysteries are down to earth make it better; also i really like the fact that the mystery "ended" because that just makes you question what else is going to happen, now without being pessimistic and saying it will drag out; I'll have the optimistic thought that the best has yet to come, after all shows like Steins; Gate proved that "slow" starts mean nothing.

The mystery isnt fully resolved. For instance, who burned the old school building? Why did Shitanda´s uncle disappear? Who was behind the school rebellion? What is the connection of Oreki´s sister with the classic´s club story?

Lets remember that this was a successful light novel, published by Kodokawa and picked upby the director of the animation of the Melancholy Of Suzumiya Haruhi.

This on itself, along side the animation, should tell as right away that there is a lot of material to work with in this story. People who complain about it being boring, I am sorry if I offend anyone, tend to be those who have never thought themselves the meaning of build up, and have become all to accustomed to either instant gratification thorough weirdness, violence or fan service. By being rather a conventional story in many ways, Hyouka is unconventional for the medium. THE CHARACTERS DONT FIT THE USUAL STEREOTYPES. They really dont. Comparisons to K-On arise from the simple fact that to many, the only instance of a story taking place in an ordinary setting following a slow pace are slice of lifes, the difference between them and Hyouka being, that Hyouka isnt drifting aimlessly, on the contrary, its a story with an overreaching arch we so often find in novels and dont get to see in TV.

Same here - not sure why, but I was expecting one more episode before Eru remembered why she cried.

Damn, this episode was great, Oreki suddenly started to think about himself, Fukube immediately reacted to that. Oreki got so worked up about the mystery in a way you wouldn't expect from him, Chitanda is changing him and I wonder if he knows to what an extent or if he noticed it at least.

I agree that the mystery isn't completely solved, two points: who was the real organizer and where and still why (or I already forgot it) did Sekitani disappear?

Recaps to insight scenes for Oreki and Satoshi was good. Otherwise I thought for the most part it was rather suspenseful. I think I can safely take back my feelings on the case from last episode since apparently it was actually a violent protest riot even, firing the buildings, no wonder he was expelled. I really liked the music during much of the episode. Visual trickery was intense kind of brutal even.
