I doubt it'll run for very long. Yeah, Madoka is a popular brand, but its popularity won't last forever.

It honestly surprises me how far they're willing to milk this title.

It needs to be done; they want the movies to be a smash hit with a larger audience.

Good business decision.

Wish I live in Japan, then I wouldn't have all the trouble I am getting just paying from importing anime goods. I want a figma of ep.12 Madoka!

Special magazine is good too, but usually this is done for promotion purposes, I don't expect this to last long (at least until the movies are finished).

Why are people surprised? It's sold over 80k copies and is soon to surpass Bakemonogatari as the best-selling anime series, discounting movies and the Gundam series. Of course they're going to milk this series for all it's worth.

This is pissing me off. At least Anno had the decency to do this much milking at a slower pace with Evangelion, the only other series I can think of that's been milked this much.

I hope this ends after the third movie comes out.

Agreed.

Every big hit anime series is expected to generate huge cash flows from other sources (other than the BDs), I don't see this as milking, but rather the natural flow of things. A lot of people/companies are benefiting from this so it is all good!

As long as fans are willing to buy the merchandise then there is no reason to stop there, it's good business.

Oh look, another thread where people with no grasp of how business works rage about milking. How novel!

Even before the Rebuild movies that started in 2007, Evangelion in the 1990s have so much merchandises from figures, model kits, etc. and 2 movies. The movies are released about a year after the series, what are you getting at?

Death and Rebirth was a recap movie

End of Evangelion is an alternate interpretation of the last 2 episode of the series
