In 2009 - apple added a compass and add an S behind ... they sold hundred of thousands of units to people who already owned the iphone 3G. In 2010 - they release iPad with the same specification as iPhone 4 that is gonna be release 2 months later... took off the camera exclude the retina display that is gonna be out in 2 months ... and throw it to the consumers.... Back then... iPad wasn't something new.... many makers refuses to venture into the tablet form because it was risky and proven ineffective by the tablet PC tablet PC was the initial concept but failed to attract the market because of the limited capability of tablet PC compare to a Laptop.... However, Apple manage to revive the concept and REDUCE the capability of a tablet PC and slap it at a high "laptop" price and PEOPLE STILL BUYS IT.... Its like the greatest legal way to scam stupid people.. 2 Months later after ipad - They release the iphone 4... many people was astounded by the "Video Calling" feature.. which exist since Nokia 6630 and revolutionized by android phones... Half assed everything that exist in the Galaxy S that was released 6 months ago... boasting about their glass is 5 thousand times stronger than plexi glass but still weaker than gorrila glass release 6 months ago... and retina display on a 3.5 inch screen which basicly means it improves nothing ... yet millions are sold like hot cakes In 2011 - The release of iphone 4s and says it is a new "Reinvented" revolutionary Phone. How did they reinvent the already reinvented and revolutionary iphone 4 you ask? They dont... they limit the production and design overhead... throw in a processor that is already invented for another product.. update the camera.. add a already exist voice command feature on the android phones and slap an S on the box... wallah ...billion dollar profit for the year cause people would still buy it... In 2012 - They release the iPad (the 3rd ipad but they are too lazy to add a 3 or any indication that it is the 3rd generation ipad)... the iPad is patched with the iPhone 4 Camera, iPhone 4s Processor.. doesnt comes with SIRI and thicken the size compared to the previous ipad.. The 6months old iphone 4s got 8MP camera .. they have the technology but they refuse to slap it in a brand new ipad... AND PEOPLE STILL buys it ... LIKE A COLLECTABLE item or something *this statement has been made by someone else, i just copy and paste it* |

Isn't this what marketing is all about? Some people point out how Apple users are gullible and stupid; while others look at it more optimistically as that Apple is good at marketing to a certain audience (the gullible and stupid). To each their own I guess... I grew tired of the whole apple bashing years ago; it is like swatting at flies when you are in a swamp, a bloody waste of time. Even if you demonstrate just how well Apple screws over people who are willing to pay some extra cash for an OS tailored to generally inferior hardware... it is not like this will ultimately change anyone's decision to get an apple product. Just like talking about how flexible Linux is will not get your amishesque grandmother to change her OS. In the end, all you accomplish is indulging yourself in elitism; feeling as if you are not a part of the masses, and thus somehow superior. I dunno... eventually I just got sick of it all; mocking large parts of the population for what you consider stupid just becomes tiresome.... There will always be the stupid and the gullible, but there is little you can do about it. |

As someone who makes a living off said stupid people, I enjoy the apple sheep. They come in and buy shit loads of accessories, services and protection plans. More so than most tablet customers. 90% of them know that it's new and know that they want it, they don't really need to know what it does better than the last model. ![]() Aya Hirano is fucking awesome everyone but the bass player |

It just shows how Apple is good at selling. I agree with the statement though. Apple isn't anything special, it lacks a lot essential things. The iPhone for example, after many many MANY people have complained the fact it lacks flash player, yet they still don't put it on OS systems. And MacBooks, why don't they have microsoft word and powerpoint installed?! Why make us pay! I know its microsoft but shh. OS system sucks too, well, its good but I'd like to download windows application sometimes. My dad is a Apple fan but even he finds it ridiculous how they release 'new' things when its hardly any different from the old. *Sent from my overpriced MacBook air which isn't anything special.* <a href="http://myanimelist.net/animelist/wai090609"><img src="http://oi39.tinypic.com/anbgn5.jpg"></a> |

Never understood the big deal about Apple, never been enticed to buy any of their products. Got to give it to them though, their marketing skills are unparalleled. |

People are dumb enough to buy blindly. Nowadays what sells is the brand, not the product. |

To be honest, this is a bit like mocking people who buy clothes from the likes of Gucci, because you can get cheaper clothes from GAP. Are these people buying Apple products for their technological specifications, or are they buying them because they are fashionable? You'd have to be a damn fool to say that the Apple products aren't pleasing to look at. As far as aesthetic design goes, they are certainly among the best companies around right now. Of course, it won't last. Such is the way with fashion, really. |

Well it's certainly a great way to earn money, but it's of course not anything new. The best example has to be the Catholic church scamming people out of their life savings by selling redemption tickets to get their dead relatives out of purgatory quicker. The only thing that really makes Apple's schemes stand out from the rest like brand clothes and such is that we're talking about a technical product with objective stats and preformance values, which are in no way anywhere near worth the price, thus making the scam behind it all even more obvious. But then again, the people that buy all these things hardly care for performance, and most probably don't even know what half of the stats means in the first place. AnnoKano said: Still, the difference is that clothes are bought today almost solely for aesthetic value, at least for the kind of clothes we're talking about here. To be honest, this is a bit like mocking people who buy clothes from the likes of Gucci, because you can get cheaper clothes from GAP. Are these people buying Apple products for their technological specifications, or are they buying them because they are fashionable? Apple's products on the other hand are by their very nature utilitarian, thus showing the general ignorance and decadence much more clearly when people are willing to buy inferior or even useless consumer utility products solely for a sense of fashion. ![]() Firar ein mann seg sjølv ned i reip, og får bane, då er han sjølv banemannen sin. |

Not that I want to defend Apple here, but their main feature was always ease of use and usability. In the not so distant past, Macs were pretty much fire and forget, while the regular PC often turned into setup nightmares. And they have some good ideas in terms of interfaces and the likes that got adopted by competitors. You can hardly measure these things or put an objective price tag on them. Apparently a lot of people are willing to pay a premium for convenience. |

nznznz said: Sure, but the difference is getting smaller and smaller. A Android interface is just as efficient as a iPhone interface, so now that the rest of the market has caught up, they don't really have the edge anymore. Not that I want to defend Apple here, but their main feature was always ease of use and usability. Sorry to post another picture but ![]() The thing about this logo is that people bought the product, not because of the logo, but because it was a great product. The problem with apple is, it's just a logo. I know Sony has it's own logo, but it doesn't sell on the basis of its logo, not to mention the fact it's products logos are changeable, it sells on the basis of how good it hardware and software is, not if it looks pretty. The problem is that computers like apple and alienware seem to be using their logo as the main selling point. Not because of what is inside is good. Though obviousness Apple rely on their logo more than a company such as aleinware or dell because those computers are actually powerhouses of hardware and software, and apple is not. Apple has just become a stick on tag. But lets not face reality here, this is genious from apple. Slapping on apple an logo and increasing it's market price by 200%, that is a brilliant piece of marketing and great for business. This company has been putting it's logo on shit for years and people buy it like its *ahem* going out of fashion. ![]() Modified by Ylphy, 04-15-12, 9:15 AM |
