Yes, you definitely should read manga! There are a lot of manga out there which are so good, and in most of the cases, they are even more fun to read than the anime version. And since you like drawing, it would teach you a lot of things, like panel layouts and much more. If you don't know where to begin, I'd recommend you something like Karin (Chibi Vampire), Gunslinger Girl or Elfen Lied. Because you've quite liked the anime, and it will be fun remembering it, and not only that, those examples go much further than the anime. There are a lot of differences in the story.

I myself love drawing anime characters in all my books, one time I accidentally handed in a maths assignment with a picture of an anime girl on there...
I was so embarrassed...**w**
Anyways, haha literally all my books have some sort of drawing in them....
EDIT: Your sketches inspired me to draw and upload as well! Although my quality is not as good as yours...
