Hmm it seems like everything related to the Kami Nomi franchise and the Hayate no Gotoku franchise is doing mediocre in sales. This worries me.

I'm really worried about the Kami Nomi franchise too. Hoping for a third season, and it was hinted, but the sales are a bit low..

Thre is some inconsistency with the Album sales of Hatsune Miku "Vocalodream". Last week it has 47,174 total sales, this week it added +2,240 but total sales is only 20,839?

Not sure with the other releases.

If there is any consolation, the CD you see listed here came out March 3rd and this ranking stopped counting at March 4th, 3k sales in its first day is not too bad imo. We'll see if it shows up again next week.

Oh please. This ain't even funny, not anymore. I know, I shouldn't be surprised by the Japanese taste, but it's still terrible.
And yay for Gintama.
So you think your taste is better than the others?

I demand Second Season Epicness in Ro-Kyu-Bu, the novel sells, the anime sells. What's the hold up? announce a S2.

Last week was: 41, *2,672 47,174 Hatsune Miku "Vocalodream"
So total is 49,414.

Go go iDOLM@STER. The non-G4U v5 is crushing non-G4U v4 (10,889 vs. 7,831) and v4 slightly outsold v3, which outsold v2, which outsold v1. And v5 has has made up all the drop in G4U and more besides. So the combnined non-G4U and G4U bundles for Vol. 2+ have gone: 23,315 > 26,819 > 26,010 > 27,927. If this keeps up I'm not going to be too terribly shocked to see a 30k volume.

I didn't say that, did I? There mere fact that random ecchis and harems are selling better than normal animes is terrible. That's what I meant. I don't think I need to add IMO at the end of every post in order to mean it as my own opinion, because undoubtedly, it is. It's internets, you know.

Just wait until you see how much Highschool DxD and Nisemonogatari sell.

The problem with Shana is that they waited way too long since the last season. At this point, many people have lost interest.

Same thing with Zero no Tsukaima, which also flopped in sales.

More lolis with basketballs, please. The demand is there, so make more, dammit.

Also, I'm kinda expecting Nisemonogatari to break the record SHAFT holds with Madoka Magica. Given that its ED single is already selling like hotcakes, I'm sure the actual show will too.

Well, it was either wait for the authors to work on the final chapters, or end the franchises with anime-original endings. I'm pretty sure the LN readers would be quite pissed if they had done the latter, meaning that only the anime-only viewers might end up enjoying them the most. So, I think sales wouldn't have been much different either way.

Shaft's best seller is Bakemonogatari actually, not Madoka.

78,671 average - Bakemonogatari (¥3.6bn sales, 6 discs)
71,057 average - Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica (¥3.1bn sales, 6 discs)

Top two best selling shows since 2000, and #2 and #3 all-time for sales of their first release (not including boxsets).

I don't know how well Nise will sell. Or I should say, I know it will sell phenomenally well, just not how phenomenally.

The best first week sales for a Bake disc were 72,207 for Vol. 6. If Nise is going to seriously challenge Bake, it needs to do about that much in its opening week and have strong subsequent weeks, and not drop much if at all in volumes 2-5. I'm not sure it'll be quite that high, to be honest, but it certainly is entirely possible. Maybe more like 60-65k. It's so hard to predict from Stalker's estimates since it's so unusual for a show to rank to highly for so long.

Stalker currently has it estimated at at 49,176 for BD and 4,789 for DVD so far, with 8 weeks to go before it stops calculating estimates. Vol. 1 BD hasn't been out of the top 20 much at all since it was solicited almost two months ago and Vols. 2-4 haven't gone below #14 yet.

Given that its ED single is already selling like hotcakes, I'm sure the actual show will too.

It's worth noting though that the ED is by ClariS, who is a hot hot hot property, and who also sold like hotcakes for Madoka (82,826 by end of 2011 for Connect) and OreImo (40,455 by end of 2010 for Irony). And of course it's composed by supercell, also a hot property. So it was going to sell regardless. But I absolutely agree that it being connected to Nise can only help sales.

Well you might not saying the actual words yourself but you just called them random shows while thinking your favourite show is normal.

And to put more fire, How is that someone doing great with their business making someone else feel terrible? I just don't get it.
Is selling more of these RANDOM shows making NORMAL shows selling less?

You mean ufotable? Cause I don't see how Manglobe could be related to Fate/Zero or "big sales"

BTW. Does anyone knows Zero no Tsukaima F sales? Vol. 1 already came but doesn't ranked so I just curious about number...

Less than 997 DVDs and less than 1,668 BDs, so less than 2,665 combined. probably less than 2000, because I doubt DVDs did more than about 300.

We might get a DVD estimate if someone posts a 101+ ranking for DVDs on livedoor but even then it might be outside the top 300 and with no data. As for BDs, there's no 51+ ranking lists, so we'll never know.

I doubt it. =/ I'm importing it but it has very consistently been ranking poorly/terribly (graph of last 60 days with a lower bound of 300th place). It's squeezed into the Top 100 just now but that's nothing more than last minute orders for the day it goes on sale. It's going to be one of the bombs of the season, which is a shame.

Plus the first volume is very heavily discounted, so even if it moved a still-mediocre 3k we'l just see that halved by disc 2 or 3. PapaKiki will get a 2k average if it's lucky. I might be a bit pessimistic (I always try to be for sales of shows I like so I can be pleasantly surprised if it outperforms), but none of the signs are good.

it should hit around 2000-2300 sales (BD+DVD)
can't say it's a good sales but you can say "decent"

Nise sells like a hotcakes (probably show with the best sales this year pawning fate zero and P4)

DXD will probably pass through 5k barrier I think, but still below ano natsu

Eh? Why? The second season has only averaged 4,199 so far. Decent enough I guess, it's likely breaking even, but that's nothing super impressive and certainly not high sales. It's... just kinda middling.

Loli anime sells however Josei anime doesn't sell because most of the buying fanbase are male, josei maga does sell same with LNs.

Chihayafuru sells like 300k a volume manga, I really don't think BD sales are that big a deal for it. You have to take audience into consideration. Not every franchise is intended to make its money the same way.

Roukyuubu sells more DVDs than Naruto Shippuden. But really, which do you think is bigger? Different audiences, different markets. Sales data is useful, but just throwing two numbers against each other without any attention paid towards context just confuses things.

7000 and keep increasing

I'm betting at 8000-8500 (BD+DVD) when it's released 2 weeks from now

Shame, I actually want it to be fail so JC Staff will reconsider to start new as a studio

Stop to blame J.C. Staff. They are not the worst studdio there. Yes, they air a lot of medicore shows but still. At least they are true to their hits. I really like Shana III and some other shows are not bad either

Lol true, people seem to forget that the largest audience is Seinen (Or probably shounen?) and the markets are not the same.

Loli and the "moe" stuff sells very high in japan. did you know that Eroge buisness makes more money than idol buisness? Yup.
