Tense indeed! And just when i thought that no one will die in the episode. A whole family died together with that girl's brother. And they are all trying their best to stop the calamity with no actual results but to learn a bit more of the mysteries behind it.
I kind of have an idea who the dead one is and i'll see these series through to the end to verify that.

Though I wished the dream sequence had been better executed I was kept at the edge of my seat nonetheless the entire second half of the episode. The underlying sense of danger was immense. The whole time I expected something to happen to the two girls and suspected the one girl going home to get knocked over by the digger but against all odds it was actually her brother who kicked the bucket eventually.

I knew she'd die (they were driving in the rain, after all), but I just thought they'd be hit by an on-coming truck or something. I was leaned in an inch from the screen, volume up, waiting to see the front of the car that was gonna kill em, when

CRASH! "Oh, shit!!"

I've gotta stop doing that. xD

I was listening to the episode with stereo closed back headphones, high volume, and it was insane. I nearly went deaf (and heart attack too).

Really good episode however. Filled with a bunch of foreshadow and suspense. I knew something would happened before the tape finished, but that dosen't mean I'm not frustrated with it. I hope we'll find out what's on that tape a week from now.

Also, show of hands, who thinks something's going to happen to Mochizuki next episode?

so i reeeeeeeally enjoyed this episode! i knew of course we wouldn't get to know the full contents of the tape but as long as things progress swiftly, i'll be okay. q:
lots of death, yummy yummy.~

and i jumped when that rock or whatever it was hit the windshield ahahahaha. xD
and that sucks to fall down the cliff like that; and be hit by a truck like that. :c

That lightning was a bitch ! Scared the crap out of me !

this is so amazing

This episode trolled us in so many ways. First with the Hyped up Dream-Sequence. Secondly with the tape predictably breaking right before the good bit.

And does anyone else get terrified when they see a truck drive by the opposite way when you're turning a corner on the side of a mountain. This episode re-awakened that fear for me.

Anyway, 5/5. I can feel the climax approaching.

Well, you missed a few as well and mixed some past incidences into that:
1) Sakuragi Mieko: car accident
2) Sakuragi Yukari: pierced throat
3) Mizuno Sanae: fatal head trauma
4) Takabayashi Ikuo: heart attack
5) Mr. Kubodera's mother: asphyxiation
6) Mr. Kubodera: suicide
7) Nakao Junta: intracranial hemorrhage
8) Komu ?'s brother: crushed by crane
9) Ayano ?: car accident(?)
10) Ayano ?'s father: car accident(?)
11) Ayano ?'s mother: car accident(?)

We have yet to learn if the car accident involving the Ayano family was fatal to all of them (though it is likely concerning the height) and we still don't know wether "(0) Fujioka Misaki - death by kidney failure" was part of the calamity or not.

The other two people were part of the 1983 calamity...so we at least know 3 names of the 8 people who died that year:

Hamaguchi ?: struck by lightning
Hoshikawa ?: fatal fall
Sakakibara Ritsuko: death due to sickness while in childbed

You also forgot Yukira's mother which was the reason for Yukira's mishap.
Also the The Teach smothered his mother before "Nicole Simpson"-ing himself in front of the class.

Since lightning boy and falling off cliff girl were previous year incidents you negate those two. Then you add two for mommy and daddy who both plunged down the cliff with their cursed drama loving daughter.

Soooo, The list is up to 11?

We really ought to make rules for making lists of deaths in this show.

Tough call. Genetically speaking, first cousins are three degrees of separation apart, and Chibiki said it was limited to two -- so if Fujioka's death was caused by the phenomenon, we're not getting the full story.

As expected, the idiots break the tape

SO SCARY. Wow. Amazing episode. But I was literally cringing with my ears ready to be plugged shut the whole time xDDD. I was just waiting for a death to happen. We saw like 4 this episode -_-" The girl's brother's death really hit home though, I would be DEVASTATED if something happened to my brother :/ And I also can't wait until we hear the rest of the tape. So interesting!! I was dreading something like what happened.

Oh, and I jumped at the lightning. I almost killed myself with the fork I was holding in my hand XD

And srsly,, every time I'm watching this show and it gets boring that I feel like falling asleep and dropping it, somthing REALLY interesting happens and I have motivation to watch it xD..
