The categorization of points here on MAL is pretty strange.
10 Masterpiece
9 Great
8 Very Good
7 Good
6 Fine
5 Average
4 Bad
3 Very Bad
2 Horrible
1 Unwatchable
What kind of categories are those? Some of them are pretty much just a synonym for the preceding one. Take for example Great/Very Good, Good/Fine or Very Bad/Horrible. Yes, there are slight differences, but come on, the region of BAD starts way to early, making it almost impossible to rate any normal anime below 5 or 6.
And why is 1 Unwatchable...for me 1 point implies that there is still at least some redeeming factor, like a D- in an exam, it's terribly flawed, but it still has some qualities that keeps it above total insufficiency.
My rating categories would be
10 Very Good
9 Good
8 Nice
7 Entertaining
6 Sufficient
5 Avergae
4 Below Average
3 Flawed
2 Bad
1 Horrible
0 Unwatchable
So most of the time I'm rating according to this train of thought, because I don't want to be always giving a 6 or 7...

Was genau ist eigentlich der Unterschied von Kuuki-kei und Nichijou-kei?
Wiki JP meint, da sei kein großer Unterschied dabei, auch wenn es getrennt genommen wird teilweise. Aber irgendwas wird sich doch wohl dabei unterscheiden, wenn das doch getrennt verwendet wird. oo"
Nebenbei, machen sich da eigentlich auch schon andere Strömungen breit? Ich habe es nicht so mit Subculture, könnte mir aber vorstellen, das Madoka oder so auch was losgetreten haben könnte.
Aber schon ein wenig abgefahren, dass daraus gleich eine ganze Pseudo-Wissenschaft draus wird.

*in case you're wondering, I spotted you while browsing the Mouryou no Hako discussions and loved your justification on the series, I was ready to rate them with an 8 but since I have a soft spot for mystery,detective stories and japanese folklore and upon reading your opinion, I changed it to a 9*
I'd like to suggest a book, Inugamike no Ichizoku, by Yokomizo Seichi, check it out :)

Hast du wirklich nur zwei Animefavoriten oder wolltest du bislang noch nicht mehr adden? ^^ Finde es ja immer wieder überraschend, Utena-Anhänger anzutreffen, außerhalb von Shoujo Ai Kreisen kennt man die Serie ja quasi kaum - leider.
