According to the tweets of media journalist Matsumoto Atsushi, a holding company "Ultra Super Pictures" has been established by anime studios. Anime director Yamamoto Yutaka will be one of the directors of the holdings.

Members of Ultra Super Pictures
Ordet: Yamamoto Yutaka's studio
SANZIGEN: 3DCGI studio of Tiger and Bunny, Mawaru Penguindrum, and Mobile Suit Gundam 00
TRIGGER: Imaishi Hiroyuki's new studio, see this topic
Nitroplus
Pixiv: Japanese illustration-oriented SNS
Good Smile Company

The objective of the holdings is to cope with the impoverishment of anime production studios due to the shrinkage of the domestic market. The members of the holdings will cooperate in anime production, management of intellectual properties and licenses, and training of young animators. They are planning to invite investors from Hollywood in order to build a scheme for the worldwide business. Ultra Super Pictures have already been working on Black★Rock Shooter TV series to be aired on Noitamina block in January. The series was announced to be eight episodes long.

Its not like I wasn't expecting it, but FUCK.

So since when does Pixiv have anything to do with an animation company? Or have I really been that uninformed... By the way, you misspelled Pixiv in the OP.

I see bright things in Yamakan's future. They involve selling McRibs.

So people think 8 episodes is a bad thing? I am curious to know how does one come to such a conclusion.
I myself prefer a good 8 episodes long than a 11-ish episode of boring filler.

And the Dark Knight is back for real, can't wait to see how will he rise.

You can have 11 eps of no filter, it's not ecchi or harem where filler is needed.

Also with only 8 eps BRS TV maybe is based off the game and not entirely original.

And why do you think 8 episodes is not enough when the director himself said so?

Let's look at it this way: it will only be a 7 episode longer struggle than watching the OVA.

Let the Rise begin

After the OVA, nothing can surprise me with what they (Ordet, huke, Good Smile, etc.) do with the B★RS franchise at this point.

Besides... "Ultra Super Pictures"? Really? Well, I guess they aren't assuming anything, now are they? /sarcasm

What a funky name, it made me lol. And since BRS is now eight episodes long, will that mean the episodes will be longer than normal episodes or that it's just a super short series?

The main money-maker so far for BRS is figures. GSC handles the figures. Therefore they will want to be on the production committee.

Production committees are more than just animation studios. You often have book publishers, TV broadcasters, music labels, animation studios, video distributors, other investors/rights holders/etc. That a figure maker would get in on it would not be strange, GSC is on some other production committees too. Animation production studios are more often than not going to be one of the most minor parts of the committee, in terms of money.

Thanks, I didn't realize.

If this means the BRS figures are getting re-released then all is well.
