THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

I guess we're doubting Sakazaki for nothing.
Their plan was great but still they can see through it.
I wonder what is this "block" they referring to.
If Kaiji's a troll, he knows what to do.

Also, they advertised the live action movie of Kaiji 2. Going to check it out when the time comes. :D

That was painful to watch, I feel sorry for Sakazaki.
Great episode though!

Recently bought the first Kaiji movie on DVD, even though I don't think they did such a good job with the casting. lol

Well yeah. It's natural for gamblers to be like that. You already lost a big amount of money yet still pursuing to win.

That's what I do when it comes to games. It's hard to stop if I don't win. lol

I ruined a good pair of pants watching Sakazaki go against the bog. Honestly believed the plan would have been more of a mindfuck but good nonetheless of how he was going to get the magnet without being caught. Also that beer switch Kaiji did was epic, lmao.

I'm also curious about this "block", would be incredibly awkward if they were also using a magnet of some sort to prevent from winning..

Sakazaki pretty much lost it in this episode.
I'm waiting for what Kaiji has in store for the Bog Machine. His plan will probably be more epic then the magnets if he actually beats the machine.

Not sure how I feel about this whole pachinko thing as I prefer to watch cards, dice and traditional gambling kind of games... doesnt seem to be fun (to watch).
Everything just seems abit 'hands off and pray while the balls drop down' to be interesting and with little strategy involved at all.. besides cheating lol. Overall a decent episode though. Hope it gets more interesting later..

Sakazaki's gonna lose. I got this feeling. But i'm not sure if they're gonna Discover Kaiji was his ally. Besides, if the third stage NEVER gets in, i wanna know what trick used Hyoudou & Tonegawa if they made it.
Rating things is overrated.

My guess is that Kaiji has something in store that will make them win.
And my second guess is that when he get's the money he will get involved in yet another gambling process lol and then he loses it all :p

Illegal gambling seems like really stupid to play. I mean there are THOUSANDS ways to cheat as house, and you can't supervise them because they're illegal. What are you gonna do? Measure if all surfaces are balanced right? That there are no magnets anywhere inside? That all the sides are perfectly geometrical? That all the inside parts are correctly working? That hundreds of balls are all made of 100% same material? Even it should be made sure the odds are in acceptable standarts, to some degree, even for such reward. Etc... (Even legal gambling is a big question mark in such complex machines. Unless standart, widely-accepted machines with 100% trusted manufacturers used, which is still possible to mess with even if risky, it's hard to be sure.) It's guaranteed to lose. Now I'm not sure about real life illegal gambling (probably it's also guaranteed or at least incredibly hard there) but these guys in the anime should just stop trying to beat a cheat. Particularly Kaiji, of course. It's just paddling against the current. Tough I also know that makes about 50% of the show.
I just wish he realized this much earlier and didn't let things go this far. He wouldn't have need to exhaust such effort...

Well, Sakazaki went full retard. Never go full retard. And always listen to Kaiji when he tell you to retire. There must be a good reason if he tell you so.

It's clear that he'll waste all that money on that machine. Though, Kaiji still have 20 millions left I believe, so if he can learn about what that ''block'' is, he can manage to find something to counter it. He must find it during the same night though, because they won't be able to know when the next ''A'' configuration come.

That moment Sakazaki broke down in the bathroom, it sank in just what it means to go broke. I've seen his case dozens of times in virtual gambling and at casinos (I don't gamble, but go with friends sometimes), it really boils down to someone who feels wronged not wanting to stop until they've made amends. A matter of restoring pride with spiteful greed.

Maybe it was just my imagination, but it looked like that 3rd tray's winning hole is flat. When the ball rolled on the edge of it once, it was as if it was rolling on a flat surface completely.

If only the 3rd tray's jackpot hole was in the lower part of the circle and Sakazaki would've had a chance... The Casino rigging the game like that is understandable though. His plan sounded really good but it surprised me that it didn't work yet. I hope they didn't find out that the money was stolen and set up the block.

The shame of losing his life savings forced him to use the stolen money and close his ears to Kaiji's ears... It ain't gonna end well.

Man, that was really painful to watch. I want them to stop badly, but the dude Sakazaki is too desperated. It's never too late to stop, they can find another gambling to beat. I know that Sakazaki has dedicated his times for this bet, but still ....

i feel like it's even more interesting cause if you're going against a person dealer, it's easier to defeat because humans have weaknesses, and you can read them if you're good at it. But a machine is insurmountable. It's built in a specific way that makes breaking its final defense impossible. That's why seeing Kaiji trying to find a way to defeat a machine is way more interesting than seeing him defeat a person in gambling.
