| I was expecting Otsuki to blame Kaiji for switching the dices when he grabbed them. But I guess it's a cultural thing where pride is extremely important so I can understand why he admitted. Awesome episode anyway. |

| I was kinda sad yet kinda happy after watching this ep ;_; It's kinda happy because the long-awaited 45'ers effort bear fruit, and kaiji will face ichijou and his pachinko in the next ep.. But kinda sad too, because i feel bad for Ohtsuki. Eventhough he is a dick, but he's not really that evil, like chairman Hyoudou. I want to see Hyoudou lose so bad.. and especially, no more FREE BEER from Ohtsuki ;_; |

| Still really stretching things out, but I can't say I don't love it. I do like that they gave some specifics to Kaiji's mind reading. Wasn't sure if they were just going to go with it being pure psychology, which would have been a little cheap. His own trick dice were a very nice little finisher. Wonder when he found time and privacy for that, even if they were sort of crappy. The looks of joy as they rolled them like it mattered were pretty great. I'd forgotten about the quintuple payout rule, myself, so I don't feel too bad about not predicting it. The rule I'd been focusing on was the pisser. I'm really pretty surprised that there was a single instance of dice exiting the bowl with the importance placed on it. Well, nice to have some red herrings. The second round repetition was sort of obvious, but it was very satisfying. I'm wondering how far they're going to take this, though. The arc seems over to me, but Kaiji also made an agreement that if Otsuki deals then he'll deal next. If they even remember it, this could either put Otsuki in ridiculous debt, or it could be given a loose interpretation. See, dealing again didn't specify who he deals against. Ostuki could be out, others could be in. Could even be how Kaiji's inevitable followup loss comes about. I know I'm suspicious of the other foreman that suddenly got introduced. Authority figures in Kaiji are never good. More likely, though, it will just be that all that perica he won really isn't worth all that much compared to last season's gambles and it won't take long to blow on the outside. Just hope he doesn't waste a portion of it on a free trip out for the son that they seem to be working on redeeming. |
