i liked the manga so i was waiting for this series with great expectation, but so far the series haven't really fulfilled them except for the music. Dont get me wrong i like the series, but it feels rushed and every episode is missing something.

I'm still hoping that they are rushing through the first couple of episodes because they were in the manga, and want to get to the main plot :).

Also not enough haruka X Yakumo interaction

Indeed it also has the same creepy feeling as Ghost Hunt, and i am loving it.
That vice precedent shop owner was a bit surprising, can't judge a book by it's cover.
Yet i somehow thought he was hiding something his behavior was to perfect.

That haunted tunnel reminded me of a story about a haunted road in the States, according to the story a bad accident happened there in the passed killing all the passengers in the car.
And ever since that that people claim to have seen ghosts there.

What is this series trying to do? It's not scary and there is no mystery. The characters are all flat, based on the most boring stereotypes. It's sort of stupid how Yakumo's contact keeps on flying off like that.
I guess it could be worse. I guess the characters could be beyond annoying like they were in Ghost Hunt.

I would understand your reasoning.

Not a bad episode... now we may hear the Jangled Cat do his phase 2 opening.

Definite improvement, not as bland as the last two. I've already accepted that there probably won't be any much mystery solving going on, just spoonfeeding the audience with the obvious. Creepy factor also still remains around zero. Merely having swirly dark miasma with faces and darkness does not a horror scene make. They're gonna have to try harder but I suppose trying to compress the story to fit one cour is the main problem here.

Now that you guys mentioned it that anime can be compare with ghost hunt, but they were more interesting characters in Ghost Hunt than Yakumo. I also agree the story is not scary and the mystery... well there is none. Yakumo fails as horror/supernatural and mystery/detective anime!

Better episode than last weeks but not as good as the first weeks.

I have read the manga so i know there are some good storylines to go... I really wish they put each mystery over 2 episodes though :/

I would have prefered that this arc...or the rest of them if that matters be adapted following the manga Shinrei Tantei Yakumo - Akai Hitomi wa Shitteiru :/ It was such a nice story the boy one ...in this episode it was so rushed and didn't really make sense.

Great episode, though i felt like it was super rushed.

The creepy guy with glasses is probably Yakumo’s father.
It kinda (?) makes sense if you think about it. But well its just a guess.

Seriously Yakumo reminds me of my dead cat. With the fuzzy grey brownish hair, green eyes and the emo attitude. For the episode, it was good. Nothing awesome or anything. And this doesn't have the scary feeling yet like Ghost hunt.

This was a sad episode.
It seems like Yakumo is a only a spectator. He can see them, but there's nothing that can be done to help them. That had to suck to have to witness that poor boy's soul being taken away be demons and there was nothing he could do about it.

Indeed. Failure is important, and it makes his eye seem more realistic; He can hear their plights but can not act to save them. Hopefully we see character development from this.

I actually didn't enjoy the episode that much as the last two. Maybe it is the effects of his personality and ability wearing off but I appeared to start losing interest.

pretty good episode. (still liked the first episode the best!) This was DEF better than episode 2 though...

I wish the mysteries were a little more complex and had me guessing more; although, I didn't see the Vice-Prez of the Udon restaurant to be the real culprit.

I also was saddened that the boy's spirit couldn't be saved; yet, I felt it did demonstrate the limit to Yakumo's powers.

Did anyone notice that the vice prez called Yakumo Haruka's boyfriend( kareshi )?
Maybe twice, I didn't focus on counting.

And she didn't even seem to be offended, bothered, satisfied, embarrassed or anything at all, which is really ...strange. 'Cause normally, female protagonist would suddenly deny and blush.

*shrugs* So I guess Haruka just wanted the vice prez to think of them that way

The show just has the 'Ghost Hunt' atmosphere around it, but IMO Ghost Hunt owns.
This show always lacks of something and the plot's flat. Never get close to the word 'scary'( OK GH might not be scary neither, but at least it sometimes gives me chills up my spine )
BTW, the background music is great.

PS I only read Yakumo manga vol.1 so far. I think the manga is much better. Is it just me?

This episode of Psychic Detective Light Yagami was much better than the first two. : )

i liked the fact that he failed, it added some depth to a character.

Although it was too fast paced, they predicted too fast some things (like, okay.. a dude was driving a car, so he is the criminal, like wtf .. :D ) That's one of the biggest minuses in this show.. it's too simple sometimes, and not interesting.

Im interested in the next episode. I want to know what will they do to Yakumo.. drown him ? >:D

At the beginning of this episode, I was FORCING myself to watch it... just forcing myself... the last two episodes were slow and generic... not a whole lot of suprising things happening...

HOWEVER I was pleasantly suprised in this episode, I think Haruka's characters developed more in this episode so she's not just some clingy girl (the whole phone call area of the episode)
and I liked how Yakumo's character developed more in this episode... I liked how they put in how he feels jaded and sometimes feels like all he can do is SEE and nothing else... and I kind of love his uncle... he's awesome...

P.S. the red eye is still sexy...

I feel like I am forcing myself too.... It is good that they are trying to develop Yakumo's character, but it seems a little flat to me. He says he feels jaded, and we know it's because he can't do as much as he'd like -- but it leaves me wishing that the story were told more from his point of view than Haruka's. As is, it just feels like too superficial and coincidental.

P.S. the red eye is sexy... too bad the contact has to keep popping out a the perfect moment in order for us to see it.

The manga was much better! At least it made sense why Yakumo was a 'detective'. There is no mystery in the anime and the plot is weak.

I am not sure if I understood this right, but in the anime, did it seem that the car was out of control because the boy possessed the bad guy? If that is true, Haruka should have attempted to hit the break or turned off the ignition or something else. Don't know if that would work, but she should have tried.

I was actually happy this was only going to be 13 episodes (short and sweet) but now wishing they would have gotten 26 episodes so they could have much more room to flesh out the story. Good episode all in all but I understand there's some missed moments of awesome. The music seems to only get better and better.

A LOT better. It's A LOT better than the other two eps. Really. At least there was some suspense and thee really was something going on. Although it was a bit rushed, still.
And something I really appreciate is that it has its sad moments, too. It's often seen that the main character just goes off, saving everybody and everyone is happy but it's not the case here which is brilliant, I think. Still the anime lacks something. But it's getting better!
Tell me how it feels, breaking down the old walls.

Big improvement over the last episode. The plot was interesting although the vice prez being involved in the murder seemed too coincidental and easy since he wound up with Yakumo to see that photo. Still enjoyed it, especially with how it ended up and Yakumo's teasing of everyone, pretty funny.

The series is lacking a certain creepiness or menace though, especially with the spirits. I don't want to mention Shiki in every post, but well, if you want to see how create a great, creepy supernatural mood... i I can't wait to find out more about the main villain, seems like he's murdering people to try and revive a spirit? He could be just the menace I'm looking for if played right.

This was quite hard-hitting. I'm preferring the anime to the dorama. But that's because of OnoD =D

I agree with you dude. This wasn't scary at all and how they investigate things were all rushed. Tatsuya in the anime being tough and all didn't fit in this ep.. while in the manga, he's scared to go alone in the tunnel.

Actually the emotional focus here was pretty lame.

Yakumo's dad... oops the villain is so damn lame
