| THIS IS AN MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- no RAWS have been released yet, but confirmed spoiler pics and scripts have been out the popping up in various forums the past few days. I think I dropped my jaw after learning Rayleigh's identity. We're finally introduced to another character that was a member of Roger's crew (besides Buggy and Shanks), and he is the Pirate King's right hand man. EPIC, SIMPLY EPIC. I'm looking forward to his meeting with Luffy. and with all the SH converging on the auction, in which Kid and Law are already in, its safe to assume that havoc will ensue in the next couple of chapters. this is turning into one hell of a story arc. much, much better than I had anticipated since I thought that it'll just be an in-between arc. I'm glad I was wrong. |

| I really wanted to save the whole excitement of chapter 500 for tomorrow, but you just *had* to make it sound so epic. So here I am, reading the spoiler translations and scans for 500. So Rayleigh's identity is confirmed to be Roger's first mate. Holy shit!! This is really the kind of thing I've been waiting for. A possible connection and avenue for more information about Roger's history, One Piece and possibly the big picture things in the story. I really don't know what in the world to expect next. Actually, there is no way I could even have the slightest of clues of what to expect, b/c we know Oda is going to, as usual, surprise us all to the extreme. I'm also quite interested in Robin's little explanation of the Fishmen from 200 years ago. With this supposed "Lost Age" kept secret by the WG, that is also one of the many things that I've become impatient to learn about. But yeah, with everyone now being picked up by the Flying Fish riders and most likely all of them converging to Camie - where the Tenryuubito, Kid, Killer, Law and who knows who else are already there - it's very safe to say that these next upcoming chapters is where "shit is going to hit the fan." Quite hard most likely too. I'm also curious of seeing Rayleigh's meeting with Luffy and crew. So far, a lot of people Luffy has come into contact with have said Luffy has given them the impression of Roger. I wonder what Rayleigh's first thoughts are going to be. |

He knocked a guy out by using this "burst of spirit" (or vigor which was used in other translations). the only people we've seen do that were him, Shanks and Luffy just recently (he used it on Duval's cow though). BTW, someone pointed this out on another forum. seems like he's made an appearance a long time ago. :D |

500 freaking chapters! It's been a long road to catch up to this point! This arc is starting to really peak my interest. There are alot interesting characters popping. More imporantly though, they better not let that mermaid get away! Don't let her cuteness be sold into slavery!!!! |

| And for the 500th chapter, we have revelation of the identity of the old man - the first mate of Roger's crew and possibly even stronger than Shanks himself. Another use of Haki here. I hope we learn more about it now. |

| 500 chapters!!! And a lot of things are revealed in this chapter!!! First off we're introduced to Law and also Rayleigh, the man who was the right hand of the pirate king. And I wonder what exactly the term 'haki' means. It is an interesting ability tho. Also there are a lot of cruel things out there in the world of one piece. I hope Luffy can bring about a change to this. |
| CHAPTER 500!!!! I honestly can't believe I'm at chapter 500... never thought I would've gotten into one piece because of the length but now it feels too short!!! Kidd has a small encounter with Law! I can tell just by their designs that they will be VERY important later on and I can't wait!!! Law has no manners and is clearly very confident, does that mean he's really strong!? also Kidd seems really strong too just by the way he is We have met Rayleigh!!! he was Gol D. Rogers, the pirate kings right hand!!! he used the ability haki on the guard. So is haki just the ability to overwhelm people with your presence so they get knocked out? Is what Enel used also haki? |
