Acting like a dog for some reason

Possibly how she thought Ein should have reacted to being hit with a can

She's nuts so it's hard to tell.

Nice Jet episode focusing on his past. I didn't remember he was a cop. And that is a nice place to live it seems, a Jupiter's Moon.

Anyway, the guy looked like a jerk, but he actually got in trouble because of the woman. Everyone makes mistakes, and I think Jet made the right choice.

Once again great episode and fantastic music, and they made some more dough! It seems Bebop is on a roll lately :P

Oh Ed's movements creep me out!

Jet walking away like a boss. That completed the episode, his past seems rather simplistic compared to Spike (can't say much yet though) but yea. Interesting, reminded me why I watched the first 9 episodes back to back

While would she do that? She wasn't the one that had bounty on her head and I shooting herself would solve absolutely nothing.

Alisa was a bit of a selfish bitch if you ask me. So what if he was controlling? Jet's the man, and obviously knew better than to get involved with loan sharks and losers in general.

She sure did make some wonderful life choices after she left him.(And yes, I know that she mentioned that she wanted to live her own life, even if it meant making bad decisions). Doesn't stop me from having no sympathy for her.

Either way, brilliant episode. I love these low-key, more personal stories in Bebop(Waltz for Venus is a good example). They make for some bittersweet drama.

Probably my second favorite episode. I like Jet quite a lot as a character, and this added quite a bit to him. I somewhat understand Alisa, though. After all, when someone else is making all of the choices for you and not allowing you to live on your own two feet....that's not really living. Like her, I'd rather live for myself or at least with a partner that I could be on equal terms with. Though, she definitely could have chosen someone better, I suppose.

I think in many other series, the character in Jet's shoes may of let them go. I thought it was quite cool that he actually caught them and turned them in. Yet, it goes without saying that the money pretty much didn't factor into his actions.

Also, it would have been a retarded story choice to have her kill herself. It would have completely undermined the message.

Ed throwing Ein around made me happy, she's starting to grow on me even though she talks in thrid person.

The music really ties things together, once again made it for me.

I'm getting used to the episode format as well, with no story really, but there still is. It's weird, anyone else feel the same way?

Closure is always satisfying. It is a shame that Alisa didn't talk to Jet about her problems with their relationship, but I am glad they separated. Bebop wouldn't be the same without Jet. He is a good anchor for the crew, and an excellent cook by the looks of it...

I love how Jet told the fool to be stronger. Now, will we get a back story to his fake arm?

I can imagine Jet as a control freak in the old days or maybe the wife was weak willed. One of the two. gg

I love this character development on Jet.
Honestly, even though I love Spike, Jet is really close to being my favorite.

For some reason, I'm not convinced he was much of a control freak but more of a leader that knew structure and order. I know people who tell others how it is, and you normally follow because it's a great plan. Alisa was probably having a bit of an identity crises and while trying to find herself, used him as a scapegoat because she relied on him so much.

Easily my favorite episode of the series thus far. I like Jet, and it was nice seeing his back story. I found myself frustrated with Jet's ex, since she seemed to be a weak companion for such a strong willed guy. in the end though, the episode wasn't about her, but about Jet learning that time does indeed go one and doesn't stop for anyone, now he can forget about that hag and move on to greener pastures.

Cowboy Bebop ep.10 was good and it was good to find out more about Jet's past, like we had for other characters. However I do wish the show would pick up a main story line rather than being episodic. However in saying that I am really enjoying the series so far.

This episode really struck me off as one of the Stand Alone episodes from GitS, the one about Batou and his boxing idol iirc. While it is totally correct to say that both episodes are contrastingly dissimilar, with this about an ex-lover and another a revered idol; I can't help but admit that both episodes share a similar theme - a past which both involved parties ended up coming across with somewhat bitter ends due to their line of duties. Admittedly, both episodes present a defined portrait of the pasts for both characters Batou and Jet, and had a sort of 'moving on' end to them. The mature tones are definitely distinct in both episodes too. 5/5

Great episode!!

Sexy Faye!!!

Nice to see Jet's past and how he did have a lover as well as being a cop. So that's why he became a bounty hunter.

Looks like Jet has moved on in life without any regrets. I'm glad he did, it's never good to be stuck in the past.

And yes, the episode structure is very similar to Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex series.

That's why these two shows are one of the best!(Well Bebop still hasn't reached GiTs for now)

Can't wait for the next episode!

Another great episode. It was cool to see Jet's background. The OST was really great too. As always.

Looks like Jet finally moved on since her threw that watch away into the water.

Ein needs an episode where he just kicks ass. He keeps getting abused!

This was a nice episode for Jet. I like the touch of the woodpecker thing representing Jet remembering to his past over and over again and not being able to move on. And then at the end of the episode where he threw the watch into the water. Now we need to find out about his arm and maybe the scar on his right eye haha.

"Men are hopeless romantists." This is probably our greatest curse indeed.

Why would you go visit a woman that left you like an old sock in the first place, let alone help her. She's even acting like a bitch about it, saying it has no importance and then trying to take advantage of his nostalgia to ask him to leave them alone...
She wanted to decide by herself ? Great deal of good that did to her. At least she realises she was foolish.

She won't, cause this time she's the one wearing the pants, even if she's worse off. Plus, as the episode symbolic stated, time doesn't stop, so it will be harder and harder for her to find a man since she's aging.

In the end Faye had it right : women are not nearly as sentimental about it as men.

There were some strange camera focus in this episode, going all over the place at times, but the episode was great.
