 Animation studio Tatsunoko Production has announced a TV anime of its property Nurse Witch Komugi-chan. The series, titled Nurse Witch Komugi-chan R, will air from January 2016 on NTV and other networks.Tatsunoko Production and Kyoto Animation co-produced the OVA titles Nurse Witch Komugi-chan Magikarte in 2002 and Nurse Witch Komugi-chan Magikarte Z in 2004. The series follows cosplay idol Komugi Nakahara who turns into Nurse Witch Komugi when trouble is around. The series is also a parody of Tatsunoko's SoulTaker series and the magical girl genre. | Whoooooooa, is there a sudden influx of franchises being revived, or what? This came out of nowhere. I mean, I liked the OVAs, but was there really a demand for this outside of my brother mourning the fact he didn't have fifty+ dollars on him to buy the (out-of-print) used DVD copy of the OVAs at a thrift store? Besides, those redesigns. Why? I don't think the designs from 2002 were all that bad. I'll still watch it regardless, since it's magical girl, but I'm bracing myself. |

| How I hate this new tendency on MAL then you just copy-past roles for staff/cast from ANN. They always post recently licenced things as examples even if they are shit and person has much better works. But back on topic. I'm a bit disappointed they changed the MC for this. I liked original Komugi. But I'll check this out cause Kawaguchi can make a good comedy and I liked both Soul Taker and original OVAs. |
