| Hey everyone! I wanted to make a few announcements before we push an update within the next hour or two. First, the long-standing cookie/IP/logout issues is finally being kicked to the curb. No longer will be you logged out when your IP address changes! In order for this fix to run, the update will automatically logout all users one last time. So you'll need log back in, but your sessions should now persist even if your IP changes. I know this fix has been long wanted, and I'm excited we're finally able to deliver it! For the second announcement, we're deploying registration and login improvements. Once this update goes live, you'll be able to login and register through Facebook, Google and Twitter. This change will allow users to sign up easily, and not worry about passwords or remembering their usernames across multiple websites. It will also allow existing members to link their Facebook, Google or Twitter accounts to their MAL account and then proceed to login using the social media sign-on. Finally, we're looking at updating older areas of our site - and the first corner we're planning on tackling is the user profile page. If you have any constructive suggestions or ideas on how to make the page more engaging, informative, or just better in general, please head on over to this thread and post a comment! To link your account Hover your username in the top right corner and choose "Settings". Alternatively, Edit Profile > Account Settings. This is also the new page for changing your email, username and password. Update May 8 You may be logged out after a period of inactivity (roughly 20-30 minutes). Seems a bug still needs to be squashed. They're working on it and will let us know as soon as it's fixed, but it may take a day or two. Please bear with us for now and we'll let you know when it's fixed. Update May 11 A fix should be pushed within the next two hours which will hopefully address the inactivity issues. At this time, you will be logged out for what is hopefully a final time. Please let us know if you encounter any remaining issues 2-3 hours after this edit. Update May 14 There was one mass logout for everyone today and there will be another next week or the week after. Just a bit of tweaking, so nothing to be worried about. |

| Never had the IP logout issue, but yay for those that did. I guess the social media integration is nice, but thankfully it's also not required. I'll never touch Facebook. |

| I am really glad with this update. I dont know there was a time where I was loggged out within 30 mins of logging in >.< Also I have filled captchas approx 20 times since I joined the site. I appreciate the developers and the team. |

| I'd love to see more being done to link MAL to social networking. |

| Glad that changes are coming to mal, don't have any specific to suggest for user profile currently but I think maybe some voting system for new features / proposing changes would be nice. Also maybe some sort of issue tracker with a bit more functionality than just forum posts in 'technical' section but things like this are actually very rarely done for websites so maybe it's not that necessary. |
