No creativity can be maintained or developed through the decades by the same person. regardless of how penguindrum fell apart in its second half, it was still one of the most interesting anime in the past...oh i don't know...ten years? what he attempted to do with it, the layers upon layers of symbolism, his unforgiving attitude to viewers, and the auteur nature of his work....these are all really exciting things that we don't see much of in anime. even if this new project is a failure, you can pretty much guarantee that there'll be nothing else like it next year. |

| I can't wait to find out the seiyuus. I really want Ikuhara to keep working with Noto Mamiko - really love her voice acting. Totally see her as Kureha - very similar to Sawako from KnT. HanaKana could also suit really well though. As for Ginko... damn, so complicated! I can exactly imagine the voice... but I don't remember neither the seiyuu name, nor the character name from another anime, which I'm referring to xD |
