| I think it is over-rated, especially as a website for socializing with people. Let me explain why. I have 164 friends on Facebook. That seems like a lot of friends right? Except very rarely do my so-called friends on Facebook ever reply back to the messages in the chatbox I send to them. Even when I had over 600 friends on my previous Facebook account, people RARELY responded to my chatbox messages. So chances are very few of my so-called friends on Facebook actually know me. If you want to socialize with people online in a fast and fun manner, you are better off posting on a really popular online forum like Reddit, 4chan, ign.com or gamespot. You can get much faster and funner replies on a forum like that than Facebook. In fact, about the only thing Facebook is good for is showing off how glamorous your life style is. And occasionally chatting with a few friends that live far, far away from you, but that's about it. Having several hundred (and even several thousand) friends on Facebook is POINTLESS, and it does not make for a better social life online. If you want a good social life, just post on a popular online forum or chatroom. Facebook is NOT a good place for an online social life. |

| I used it to keep up with old friends for a long time. Then I realize I rarely talked to them any longer and the website was just selling my info for advertising, therefore it was deleted. Facebook is a cancer that should fall off the face of the planet. |

| It's nice for staying in touch with friends and family. I've accumulate like 200 friends since I joined in 2007 but I don't care for 75% of them, lol. I don't really use Facebook. I check in on it a couple of times a day. |

| It's quite impossible to have social life here without it. It helps even in college, sharing materials, organizing some stuff we have to do in groups... There are a few people that do not have a profile here, but they always depend on someone that has one for a lot of things. |

| I have a few good uses for it, first of all we use it to plan dates for parties, we make polls and everyone can vote for days they are available. Secondly, I have a friend who lives abroad (who studies here in Holland) that can't respond on his phone when he's at home, thanks to facebook we can still communicate. Last but not least, I can't remember birthdays myself - Facebook can... |

| it IS useful as a tool to keep in touch with people that you haven't talked to in a while. I don't use it anywhere near as much as when I first got a facebook in 12th grade. I used it a lot back then to chat with various high school friends and see what they were doing. Well I was also still using my myspace at the time too, it hadn't compeletly died out yet but was on the decline though. Nowadays though I don't use facebook as much. I barely even use it to talk to old friends anymore. One of the anime clubs I'm apart of organizes events through facebook so I always check their page somewhat frequently. Other than that though. I average logging in about twice per day, for about 5-10 min per session. I just scroll down my newsfeed to see what people are doing. Sometimes its interesting or funny. For some reason my facebook auto-plays videos that people post onto the newsfeed, that shit is annoying. |

| I deleted my facebook account a couple months ago. Everyone on there was a complete tool. Tumblr is so much better. I had an anime club on Facebook and some cool pages, but even those weren't worth it. |

| I deleted or rather "deactivated my account" 4 years ago. I had absolutely no use for Facebook. I'm not really that interested in other people's lives nor am I very interested in sharing my own. |

| Pretty useful for advertising/networking for people who would otherwise struggle to gain exposure. A lot of indie dev teams for video games have climbed the ladder with the use of facebook so it's definitely a powerful tool for business and generating interest for things. Daily glimpses into peoples lives... is not necessary though. It blows my mind that people sit there refreshing their webpages/phones just to like peoples meaningless updates for hours on end. |

| I have 1084 friends on facebook. Its ridiculous as I barely talk to any of them. But I have met all of them so it's not some random shit. I moved schools a lot so i have practically everyone who was in my year on there, as well as like people who were in the year above and below me. plus people from college, night life, work, and my tae kwon do association. Dunno it just all adds up. Its great for like keeping up with everyone n shit, found out my childhood best friend had given birth through facebook. Plus I'm pretty nosy. But i don't spend much time on it like some do |

| The only reason I even have an acount on FB is because my ex-GF kept pestering me to create one. I did to please her. Ironically she's the only person on my block list. Nothing would change in my life if I deleted my FB account. All the peple I actually care about know where I live or have my cell phone #. |
