More importantly, do people in North Korea actually believe this stuff?

This is probably a silly question and the obvious answer is no, but I want to make sure.
that was a silly question, indeed.

I don't really trust any media concerning North Korea. That place had become an effective media blackout. I honestly don't even know how they're sustaining, I just assume tons of people are starving there and ridiculous amount of propaganda going on.

It's not that difficult to get info about North Korea. Other than their state propaganda, there are shitloads of emigrants that come out of there each year. There's censorship, for sure, but it's not as much of a closed system as it might seem.

People escape, that's for sure. I've met several myself. Actually inside Pyeong Yang (the capital) it's not really as bad as you think it is. Just normal people seemingly living normally.

The real desolation is on the outskirts, the less developed areas, etc.

As someone who doesn't live in such isolation, it all seems too surreal to me. I gotta watch one of those documentaries about defectors and see for myself.

A recent Cracked article relevant (?) to this, about whether people actually believe the propaganda. Of course this might just be propaganda itself. You never know what you can believe.

I don't think they believe it. I would guess they just don't say anything because they're scared of the consequences of speaking out.

It being fake doesn't make it any less hilarious.

This is pretty funny and all. Kind of makes me wonder how someone even managed to publish this video on the net, judging as how severe censorship is...

I would imagine that something like this the NK government would want to keep under wraps.

At least they seem to respect Germany and/or the German football team enough to make it a close call and even allow them one goal :D
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Dx9LnlFuYOk#t=57

and they even topped the Mineiraço by one goal. They must be so pro. xD

edit: btw. they hid the real final in the video.

The funny thing about the parody video is, that people are so quick to believe it!!!!

Considering the world cup was broadcast live into North Korea I am pretty sure they are the ones laughing at the moment at this video.
